Definitions
- the invention relates to a top burner for liquid gas containers with a filling volume of less than 1000 cm3, with an injector system consisting of gas nozzle, air suction openings and mixing channel and with a one-piece central body, which with a connecting piece for connection to the liquid gas container, with the gas nozzle, one Control valve for the vaporized liquefied gas, a connection opening for a burner tube and a piezo ignition device is provided, wherein the gas nozzle and the connection opening have a common axis A1, which is in a common plane with the axis A2 of the connecting piece and the axes at an angle " ⁇ " are between 90 degrees and 120 degrees to each other.
- Such a top burner is known, for example, from GB-PS 2 022 238, but without a piezo ignition device.
- Four air inlet openings are arranged as radial or diametrical bores in a mixing tube, which in turn is part of the gas nozzle and the adjustable burner valve, so that the mixing tube, on the end of which a burner is screwed on, is not easily, especially not by one Home improvement is interchangeable and can be replaced by a mixing tube with a burner with a different flame characteristic. Since there must still be a residual wall thickness of the mixing tube between the radial air bores and this mixing tube also has a small outside diameter, the air bores have a relatively very small cross section.
- the combustion air can only enter from the direction of the burner and must first be deflected by 180 degrees before the mixture with the fuel gas can take place. This creates high flow resistances, and since a combustion process can only be carried out economically within very narrow mixing limits of fuel gas and air, the performance of the known burner is also limited.
- the mixing and burner tube runs at least in the first part of its length in the direction of the axis of the liquefied gas container. A flame at an angle to this is generated by a bend in the mixing or burner tube.
- the burner tube includes a short pipe socket screwed to the burner tube, in which radial or diametrical air bores are arranged.
- these air holes also have a relatively small cross-section in total and each burner tube must be equipped with such a pipe socket, which is usually made of brass, so that stocking burner pipes of different sizes is expensive.
- top burners are provided with a piezo ignition device, this is located in a relatively large plastic housing, in which a push button for the piezo igniter and an adjusting button for the vaporized gas are arranged on the same side.
- a push button for the piezo igniter and an adjusting button for the vaporized gas are arranged on the same side.
- Such burners are extremely top-heavy, it should be noted that some of the liquefied gas containers used are slim and have a corresponding overall height. In any case, it would not be possible to align the axis A1 of the gas nozzle and the connection opening (for the burner tube) at an angle " ⁇ " to the axis A2 of the connecting piece while maintaining the design, this angle " ⁇ " being between approximately 90 ° and 120 ° .
- flame stabilizers are available in the known burners, they either generate a high flow resistance and / or no swirl and limit the gas throughput and thus the performance of the burner.
- no swirl bodies with an inner bore were previously known.
- the piezo igniter is accommodated in a lateral extension on the central body, and the gas inlet bores are in turn located in an intermediate piece between the central body and the burner tube, so that they in turn have a relatively limited cross section.
- the invention has for its object to provide a top burner of the type described above, which allows a high throughput of fuel gas and combustion air for a given construction volume, is easy to hold and allows the burner tube to be replaced without the air inlet openings should be replaced.
- the piezo ignition device or piezo igniter for short, is arranged at a point where it at least interferes with the handling of the burner and also with regard to the attachment of the air intake openings.
- FIG. 2 shows to what extent the cross section of the air inlet openings can be enlarged as a result.
- the burner tube with the mixing duct is structurally greatly simplified and also designed to be easily exchangeable by this design, so that the burner can be briefly converted to different burner tubes and flame characteristics. Thanks to the simple construction of the burner tubes, the accessories are also less expensive.
- the interior of the burner tube is also well cooled or kept cool, so that it has become possible to arrange the feed line for the ignition electrode in the interior of the burner tube, insulated from it.
- the air intake openings can no longer be produced by drilling but by the casting process of the central body, they no longer have to have a circular cross section, but can have a rectangular or square cross section, which can be made larger than, for example, a cylindrical bore .
- edges of the air intake openings facing away from the burner tube are chamfered from the front / inside to the back / outside.
- the sucked-in air flow already receives a velocity component in the direction of the fuel gas flowing into the mixing duct, as a result of which the performance of the burner is further increased.
- This also largely eliminates turbulence, such as occurs with a 180-degree deflection.
- the pushbutton of the piezo igniter is arranged above the setting button of the control valve when the burner is in use.
- This spatial shape is particularly favorable when the central body is ergonomically designed on the outside and is designed as a handle, such that the operator can grip and hold the unit consisting of the top burner and the LPG container on the central body. It is then possible to use your thumb and / or Forefinger to operate both the gas volume adjustment button and the push button for the piezo igniter.
- a top burner 1 is shown in vertical section, the essential part of which is a central body 2, which consists of metal, preferably cast brass.
- the inner and outer shape of this central body 2 is essentially determined by the spatial position of two axes A1 and A2, as can be seen from Figures 1 and 2. These axes intersect at a common intersection point S.
- the axis A1 is decisive for a connection opening 3 for a burner tube 4 and for the gas nozzle 5, which is inserted into the central body 2 with the interposition of a round cord seal, not shown here.
- the central body and gas nozzle 5 touch in conical surfaces, the conical axis also coinciding with the axis A 1.
- the axis A2 is decisive for the spatial course of a connecting piece 6, which establishes the connection with the liquid gas container, not shown here.
- a puncture needle 7 which is surrounded by a sliding sleeve 8, the upper end of which is supported by a compression spring 9 on a flange 10 of the puncture needle, while its lower end is captive with a elastomeric seal 11 is provided.
- the sliding sleeve 8 is sealed relative to the connecting piece 6 by an annular seal against a cylindrical bore 12 in the connecting piece 6.
- the connecting piece 6 is inserted into a housing 13, of which only the upper wall is shown. In this position, the connecting piece 6 is held by an upper nut 14.
- a liquid gas container for example a cartridge
- the liquid gas container is perforated and connected via a channel (not visible here) in the injection needle 7 to a further gas channel 15 which is located in the interior of the connecting piece 6.
- the invention is independent of the type and nature of the coupling with the liquid gas container; any other type of coupling can also be used, e.g. Screw thread, clamping claws with clamping nut or control cams etc.
- the gas channel 15 opens into a cylinder gap 16 between the gas nozzle 5 and the central body 2. From this cylinder gap, the vaporized gas can enter through an oblique bores into a valve body 17 which is formed at the rear end of the gas nozzle 5.
- a valve needle 18 which is adjustable via an adjusting thread 19 relative to a valve bore 20 coaxial to the axis A 1.
- the tip of the valve needle 18 opposite the valve bore 20 is conical.
- the other end thereof is provided with a knurled adjusting knob 21. This results in, that the amount of vaporized gas entering the connecting piece 6 via the injection needle 7 and emerging again through the gas nozzle 5 can be regulated within wide limits.
- the gas nozzle 5 together with air suction openings 22 and a mixing channel 23 designed as a nozzle, forms a known injector system in order to generate an essentially stoichiometric mixture of fuel gas (from the gas nozzle 5) and ambient air (through the air suction openings 22) . Further details of the burner tube 4 are explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5.
- the two axes A1 and A2 define a vertical plane of symmetry in the operating position. It can be seen from Figures 1 and 3 that an existing piezo ignition device 24 is arranged on the connection piece 6 with respect to the axis A 1 of the gas nozzle 5 and connection opening 3 diametrically opposite side of the central body 2. It can also be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2 that the air intake openings 22 are arranged in the central body 2 on both sides of the plane of symmetry EE mentioned. As can be seen in particular with the aid of FIG.
- the air intake openings 22 have an essentially rectangular outline. They are in the projection onto the said plane of symmetry, seen from the direction of the burner tube 4, immediately before the intersection S of the axes A 1 and A 2.
- the piezo ignition device 24 is accommodated in a housing attachment 2b molded onto the central body 2, and the pushbutton 25 for the ignition mechanism is arranged above the setting button 21 of the control valve when the burner is in use. It can also be seen that the pushbutton 25 is guided in a groove 26 of the central body 2, which is located under the pushbutton, in addition to the housing extension 2b. As a result, long-term reliable operation is generally strong claimed push button 25 reached.
- the piezo ignition device 24 is known per se; it is commercially available as a ready-to-install assembly.
- a line 28 leads from the piezo ignition device 24 to an ignition electrode arranged in the burner tube, which will be discussed in more detail in connection with FIG. 4.
- the burner tube 4 according to FIG. 4 has a cylindrical metal jacket 29 in which the mixing channel 23 is accommodated. At its rear end, the metal jacket 29 is provided with an external thread 30, which is used for interchangeable screwing into the connection opening 3.
- the mixing channel 23 is in turn arranged coaxially in a tubular insulating material insert 31, the inlet edge 31a and the outlet edge 31b of which are chamfered to produce a nozzle effect.
- the insulating material insert 31 is surrounded by an insulating tube 32, and between the two a feed line 33a is led to an ignition electrode 33, which lies in the front part of the burner tube 4.
- the feed line 33a is located inside the burner tube.
- Insulating material insert and insulating tube can be made of plastic (possibly reinforced with glass fibers) or of ceramic materials consist. Ceramic materials are preferable for high temperatures.
- a flame stabilizer 34 is arranged in the front part of the burner tube 4.
- the ignition electrode 33 lies in the direction of flow of the gas mixture, in front of the flame stabilizer 34, which forms the counter electrode due to its metallic connection to the burner tube 4.
- the flame burns only in front of the flame stabilizer 34, in Figure 4 above this.
- the flame stabilizer 34 consists of a coaxial inner tube 34a, from which radial guide vanes 34b extend in the direction of the metal jacket 29, which have a helical course in the direction of the axis A1-A1 of the burner tube, so that the gases have a Swirl movement is given, which also has a stabilizing effect on the flame burning over the stabilizer 34.
- the guide vanes 34b are integrally surrounded by an outer tube 34c.
- the end faces of the inner tube 34a, guide vanes 34b and outer tube 34c on both sides lie in plane-parallel planes 34d and 34e.
- the gas throughput in the sense of an increase in power and flame stabilization with simultaneous good cooling of the burner tube is further increased.

Abstract
