- Such switching devices are already known in different designs. They are usually used in switchgear that, on the one hand, switches motors in operation and, on the other hand, is designed to protect against overcurrents. The operational switching takes place either via a switch lock with manual drive or via a magnetic drive in the manner of a contactor, while protection against overcurrents is ensured by tripping elements which act on the movable contacts via the switch lock.
- European patent application 179 677 describes a switching device of this type in which a drive element and a control element with an energy store act directly on the movable contacts, while a further control element indirectly causes the contact opening via the energy store.
- the contact paths on the one hand require the relevant current path to be opened quickly and sufficiently, and on the other hand the switching device should switch off permanently.
- the invention has for its object to provide a switching device that switches all current paths operationally by means of a magnetic drive, in which, however, one or more current paths are opened immediately and independently in the event of high overcurrents and almost simultaneously the energy storage device is triggered via the switch lock and the entire switching device is switched off.
- This object is achieved in that the movable contacts within the contact bridge support are acted upon by compression springs which bring about the contact pressure when the switching device is switched on, and can be actuated by means of plungers movably arranged in the contact bridge support against the pressure of the compression springs in the sense of the contact opening, and that these plungers can be moved against the movable contacts through cutouts in the contact bridge support by different attachable switching devices and open the switching paths of all or individual poles.
- An electromagnetic actuator acts on all plungers simultaneously via a multi-arm lever and opens all switching distances in the sense of the function of a contactor against the pressure of the contact pressure spring.
- Each switching path is assigned a trigger device, which acts via an angle lever directly on the plunger arranged in the contact bridge carrier and thus causes the affected contact bridge to open quickly in the event of a fault, and which simultaneously acts on the switching lock in the sense of triggering the energy store and has a permanent opening of all switching distances.
