Definitions

  • the invention relates to a lift-translated pliers, in particular bolt cutters, each with a pair of two-armed die jaws and hand levers, which are each articulated to one another and do not cross in the region of the articulation points, and with connecting joints between the mutually facing ends of the die jaws and hand levers.
  • the well-known bolt cutters as z. B. from DE-OS 32 21 072, have articulated to the cutting jaws on hand levers that are moved so far apart with the pliers around the articulation point of the hand levers that they form an angle of 90 degrees or more between them and thereby with the cutting jaws only inserted into openings, in particular spaces, of an upper reinforcement layer until the front outer sides of the hand levers rest on the opening edge. In most cases, this means that an underlying mat or reinforcement cannot be reached by the cutting edges. If a lower-lying reinforcement or reinforcement mat still has to be cut, the opening in the upper reinforcement between two reinforcement bars is often enlarged by additional cuts, so that the upper reinforcement is weakened. In addition, this is an additional workload.
  • the object of the invention is to improve pliers of the type mentioned in such a way that parts to be cut can be reached through narrow openings which are lower than the length of the two-armed cutting jaws relative to the opening.
  • This object is achieved in that in a region close to the cutting jaw levers the hand levers are bent at least twice in such a way that in this region the hand levers cross each other twice in the closed state of the pliers.
  • this area can also be introduced into the opening as an extension of the cutting jaws, so that even very deep reinforcements or wires to be cut can be reached.
  • the pliers are easy to handle and simple to manufacture. There is no additional work involved, and there is no need to enlarge the upper opening and thus weaken an upper or front reinforcement.
  • the first areas of the hand levers which are closest to the die jaw levers and which form the point of intersection closest to the die jaw levers when the pliers are closed, are approximately parallel to one another when the pliers are wide open. It is also advantageously proposed that the first regions of the hand levers form a width from outside to outside in the approximately parallel state when the pliers are wide open and approximately the same as the width of the cutting jaw levers from outside to outside.
  • a second area of the hand lever should also connect to the first area of the hand lever, which forms the second crossing point when the pliers are closed. In this case, a first and a second region of the hand levers can be bent toward one another and together form an inner angle facing the other hand lever, which is 60 to 120 degrees, in particular 80 to 100 degrees.
  • the regions which cross each other twice partially overlap one another laterally can also lie in a longitudinal slot of the second hand lever when the pliers are closed, so that the hand levers interlock in a manner similar to that which is already known for water pump pliers with an inserted sliding joint.
  • the stops strike the second region at the level of the second crossing point. This creates particularly easy to design and safe working stops.
  • the bolt cutter essentially consists of two pairs of levers, which are articulated to each other and to each other without crossing.
  • the two-armed cutting jaw levers 1, 2 have cutting edges 3, 4 at their free ends between the front jaws, which lie on one another in the bite cut.
  • the cutting jaw levers 1, 2 are articulated directly by a single central joint 5, the cutting edges being on the side, or the cutting jaw levers are articulated on both flat sides on one tab each by two screw journals, as is shown in German Offenlegungsschrift P 32 21 072, so that the cutting edges are in the axial direction of the pliers.
  • the cutting jaw levers 1, 2 are articulated to two-armed hand levers 8, 9 via connecting joints 10, 11 with pivot pins, in particular screw pins.
  • the two hand levers 8, 9 Near the connecting joints 10, 11, the two hand levers 8, 9 by a hinge pin, in particular screw pin with z. B. eccentric, hinged together.
  • an adjusting screw which is mounted in the first hand lever and represents the connection between the first hand lever and the connecting joint or the second hand lever, can act on this connecting joint 12 of the two hand levers.
  • the set screw is mounted so that it can move longitudinally in a hole in the first hand lever and in both directions by means of adjusting nuts directions of exercise.
  • the hand levers 8, 9 consist of forged pieces in the area of the joints 10, 11 and 12, onto which tubes 16, 17 are pushed to extend and form the grip areas. These forged intermediate pieces of both hand levers thus form the regions 14a, 14b which are closest to the cutting jaws and are connected with their front ends to the cutting jaws 1, 2 via the joints 10, 11.
  • these areas 14a, 14b are designed such that, when the pliers are closed, these areas cross each other twice in points 18 and 19 without being fastened or articulated there.
  • This first area 21 of both hand levers ends at a second bend turned to one side (second bend 22), which is made at an angle ⁇ of approximately 90 °.
  • This angle can be in a range from 60 to 120 °, in particular 80 to 100 °.
  • the areas 14a, 14b of the hand levers 8, 9 near the cutting jaws thus form two angularly bent areas between the attached pipes 16, 17 and the connecting joints 10, 11 and the connecting joint 12, the kinking taking place inwards in opposite directions, so that these areas intersect twice and the turning points 22 are on the outside when the pliers are closed. In the closed position, these areas enclose an approximately rectangular, in particular approximately square, opening 24 at the level of the bends 22. On the other hand, if the pliers are wide open, the areas 21 are essentially parallel to one another, the width B of the outer sides of the areas 21 being approximately the width C of the outer sides of the cutting jaw levers 1, 2.
  • the pliers can thus be inserted into the opening by the length of the first two regions 21 deeper than a conventional pliers.
  • the forged intermediate pieces of the two hand levers have stops 25, 26 in the areas 23 below the crossing point 19, each of which strikes the opposite hand lever at the level of the crossing point 19 when the pliers are closed.
