Abstract

A tool which has spacer sleeves displaceable on a center punch and hollow shafts are adjacent to one another is intended for rapidly and precisely finding the center of holes and the longitudinal center of slots and channels, so that center marks and linear scribes can be made. The spacer sleeves and the hollow shafts have different diameters, and the hollow shafts are inserted one into the other in telescopic form. When a hollow shaft is fittingly inserted into hole (5) or slot (5) the center of the former or the longitudinal center of the latter can reliably be found by the center punch for making center marks or linear scribes in the slots. The tool can also be used for producing center marks on shafts and pins.

Description

The punctiform or line-like markings in the surface of a workpiece made of metal, wood or plastic are made using a center pin made of hard metal, marking and grainings in holes or on shafts as well as line-like scratches for scribing purposes in slot-like depressions can only be done with great accuracy It takes time and requires manual skill, because it is difficult to quickly and precisely determine the center of holes or the longitudinal center of slots and grooves, which is why errors are common. Removing a broken screw in a workpiece is also cumbersome. The broken screw in the workpiece has to be drilled out and it is usually only possible to determine the center for attaching a drilling tool to carry out the drilling. If inaccurate, the screw thread in the workpiece will be damaged when the broken screw is drilled out, the repaired screw connection will be unsettled and the new screw will not fit. The only way out is to cut a new thread in the workpiece and use a suitable screw. Also quick centering e.g. One screw saves laborious clamping in the lathe.

The invention relates to a tool for graining and marking out workpieces, as it is e.g. is known from US-A-3 192 640. The present invention has for its object to find the center of any cylindrical, conical and stepped holes or the longitudinal center in slots and on shafts safely and quickly to make point or line-like markings in a workpiece surface. By quickly and easily centering on a screw, a pin or a shaft, the cumbersome clamping in a turning unit can be saved.

Die Weiten der Hohlschäfte 4 vergrössen sich von unten nach oben um je ca. 1 mm, diejenigen der Distanzbuchsen 5 dagegen von oben nach unten um ca. 1 mm.1 denotes a grain pin made of hard metal, which is provided on one end with a tip 2 and on the other hand with a striking head 3. For normal use, the length of the center pin is approx. 7 cm and the thickness approx. On the grain pin 1 is a group consisting of several pieces telescopically interlocking, displaceable hollow shafts 4 is mounted. Depending on the type of use, fewer or more than seven hollow shafts can be used. There is a spacer bushing 5 at each of the upper ends of the hollow shafts 4. The spacer bushings have different widths and diameters from one another. The hollow shafts 4 and the spacers 5 each consist of one piece, but they can also be individual parts which are connected to one another by welding, or are formed from one piece. The widths of the hollow shafts 4 increase from bottom to top by approx. 1 mm each, those of the spacer bushes 5, on the other hand, increase from top to bottom by approx. 1 mm.

Zwei dem Werkstück 8 aufliegende Hohlschäfte 4 dienen dabei als rechtwinklige, stützende Auflage, welche das Verkanten des Werkzeuges erschweren.5 and 6 5 locking screws 6 are attached to the peripheral sides of the spacers, the heads of which protrude. When the locking screws 6 are tightened, the spacers 5 can be fixed on the center pin 1 with the hollow shafts 4. According to FIG. 6, a rubber band 7 is placed over part of the locking screws 6 as a traction means and the purpose is to pull the spacers 5 together and to keep the hollow shafts 4 apart when the locking screws 6 are not tightened. The independent dropping of the grain pin 1 during the grain work can be prevented and the tool can be kept in the ready position. In Fig. 6, the fourth hollow shaft 4 fits into the hole 9, while the remaining larger hollow shafts rest on the workpiece 8. 5, the lock 9 is very small, in FIG. 6, however, it is several times larger. in the The bottom hollow shaft is where the other hollow shafts are telescoped. The center pin 1 or the tip 2 is located exactly in the center of the hole 9. The spacers 5 lie on top of each other. In Fig. 5a, a hollow shaft 4 surrounds a shaft 8 'and the tip of the grain pin 1 lies against the end face thereof, where the grain is carried out. The same is the case if there is a pin instead of the shaft 8 '. Two hollow shanks 4 resting on the workpiece 8 serve as a right-angled, supporting support, which make it difficult to tilt the tool.

The workpiece 8 can lie on a further workpiece 10 shown in FIGS. 8, 9 and 11 and by striking the center pin grains are produced on its surface, which are conical depressions.

With the tool, scribe lines can also be drawn in slots or channels exactly in the longitudinal center thereof. scratch. The lower part of the tool with the center pin 1 with a matching hollow shaft is easy to insert into the slot 9 ', the groove 9 "of the shaft 8' or the pin, the tip 2 automatically taking exactly the longitudinal position shown by dash-dotted lines. By pulling the tool back and forth, longitudinal scribe lines 18 are formed in the slot or in the groove. The intersecting points of the scribe lines in the slots or grooves, as can be seen in Fig. 10, show the cross points exactly. In Fig. 10 are still Four different sized holes 9 are available, the centers of which can be determined quickly and precisely with the tool for the purpose of carrying out granulations.

The distance adjuster 12 shown in FIG. 11 is used to create a group of indentations on the workpiece 8 that are equally spaced from one another. have it fixed by means of the clamping screws 17 so that the distance of the center pin 1 can be set and secured precisely. If the feeler pin 16 is inserted into a notch previously produced by the center pin, the center pin 1 assumes a position distant from this. When this process is repeated, with the sensor mandrel being inserted into the newly created notch, a group of uniformly spaced-apart depressions 11 can easily be produced using a conventional pipe tool (FIG. 11a).

The tool described is particularly suitable for craftsmen such as mechanics, locksmiths, toolmakers, carpenters and hobbyists who carry out work in which the centers of holes or the longitudinal center of slots and channels, shafts and pins, as well as the cross points of intersecting slots or Channels are to be determined. Drilling out broken screws without risking damage to the thread in the workpiece becomes possible due to the possibility of attaching a centrically accurate grain to the point where the screw breaks off, which acts as an orientation aid when attaching the drilling tool to be used.
