Abstract

The printed products to be provided with inserts or supplements are infed in respective pairs by an infeed conveyor to a processing drum or cell wheel. The cell wheel comprises substantially radially extending compartments which are open at the periphery of the cell wheel. Product feed devices, for example, clamps or grippers are arranged in the compartments for forwardly advancing the printed products located in the compartments. Each compartment is divided into two feed channels by a removable divider or partition wall. These divider or partition walls terminate at a predeterminate spacing from the product feed devices. Each of the two printed products which are conjointly conveyed as a pair are infed into a respective feed channel. The printed products in the feed channels of each compartment are then conjointly advanced and approximately simultaneously opened and are furnished with an insert or supplement. This is possible, in spite of their mutual advancement, since the printed products are separated from one another by a divider or partition wall and thus do not completely repose upon one another.

Bei dieser bekannten Lösung wer­den jeweils zwei Druckprodukte gleichzeitig in die radial verlaufenden Abteile einer Verarbeitungstrommel eingeführt, die um ihre horizontale Längsachse drehend angetrieben ist. Die Druckproduktepaare werden gemeinsam in Längsrichtung dieser Abteile vorgeschoben und während des Vorschiebens geöffnet. Dabei liegen die beiden Druckprodukte während ihres gesamten Vorschubweges mit einer ihrer Seitenflächen ganz­flächig aufeinander auf. Zuerst wird nun das eine der bei­den Druckprodukte geöffnet, während das andere Druckprodukt geschlossen bleibt. Anschliessend wird in das geöffnete Druckprodukt eine Beilage eingebracht, während nun das an­dere Druckprodukt geöffnet und dann mit einer Beilage ver­sehen wird. Sowohl das Oeffnen der beiden gemeinsam vorge­schobenen Druckprodukte wie auch das Einbringen der Beila­gen in das jeweils geöffnete Druckprodukt erfolgt somit nacheinander. Die Verarbeitungstrommel 2 ist drehbar in zwei Lagern 3,4 gelagert, die am Gestell l befestigt sind. Verfahren zum Einbringen wenigstens einer Einlage in vorzugsweise gefaltete Druckprodukte, bei dem jeweils zwei Druckprodukte gemeinsam entlang eines Verarbei­tungsweges vorgeschoben und dabei geöffnet werden und anschliessend zwischen die voneinander getrennten Teile der geöffneten Druckprodukte eine oder mehrere Einlagen eingebracht werden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die beiden Druckprodukte (35,35′) während ihres gemeinsamen Vorschubes zumindest teilweise voneinan­der abgehoben gehalten werden und im wesentlichen gleichzeitig geöffnet und mit Einlagen (36,37) ver­sehen werden.1.
