Definitions
- the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece with a pivotable connecting piece and a mouthpiece body which is tiltably mounted on an intermediate channel articulated to the connecting piece, in which mouthpiece a supporting element resting on the surface to be suctioned is further connected to the connecting piece.
- Such a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece is known from EP-A 0 125994 and DE-C 2 846 847. Because of the pivotable suspension on the intermediate channel, the mouthpiece body can adjust itself so that its mouthpiece sole is directed as parallel as possible to the surface to be extracted. However, this is only the case if the frictional forces which become effective during the back and forth movement on the mouthpiece sole are small. Otherwise, the mouthpiece body is tilted around its suspension axis due to these frictional forces. This occurs especially when moving the mouthpiece in the backward direction and leads to the so-called "rattling" of the mouthpiece.
- the invention has for its object to develop a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece of the type described in such a way that tilting of the mouthpiece body is reliably prevented in both directions of movement and thus the mouthpiece sole always lies fully on the surface to be extracted.
- a coupling element is articulated at one end, which is articulated at its other end to the connecting piece, that the intermediate channel consists of two sub-channels decoupled from one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the intermediate channel by an articulation point.
- the coupling element is designed as a support plate, a separate supporting element for the mouthpiece can be saved.
- Manufacturing advantages result from the fact that the support plate is formed in one piece with the housing of the mouthpiece body and is articulated on the one hand via a film hinge on the edge of the rear longitudinal side of the housing adjacent to the surface to be suctioned off and on the other hand by means of integrally formed tabs on the connecting piece.
- the support plate can thus be produced in one manufacturing process together with the housing of the mouthpiece body.
- the support plate with its integrally formed tabs can be mounted on the axle of the pair of wheels. Passage slots are formed on the support plate for the wheels so that the wheels can protrude beyond the support plane of the support plate. This has particular advantages if smooth bottoms are sucked with the mouthpiece, since then the mouthpiece is supported by the pair of wheels and contact between the support plate and the smooth bottom is avoided.
- a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece designated 1 has a mouthpiece body 2 and a connecting piece 3.
- the mouthpiece body 2 is mechanically and suction-connected to the connecting piece 3 via an intermediate channel 4 consisting of a first and second subchannel 4a and 4b.
- the mouthpiece body 2 is pivotally attached to the first sub-channel 4a by means of a pivot axis 5.
- the connecting piece 3 With the second sub-channel 4b, the connecting piece 3 is pivotally connected.
- the two subchannels 4a and 4b are decoupled from one another in the longitudinal direction. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this decoupling is achieved in that the first subchannel 4a is inserted into the opening 6 of the second subchannel 4b with a tube extension 7 adapted to the opening 6 of the second subchannel 4b.
- the outer diameter of the tube extension 7 is selected to be smaller than the inner diameter of the opening 6 of the second sub-channel 4b, so that the two sub-channels 4a and 4b can be moved relative to one another in the longitudinal direction.
- the tube extension 7 is provided with sealing lips 8, by means of which secondary air is prevented from being sucked in via the annular gap 9 existing between the tube extension 7 and the opening 6.
- Other types of sealing are also possible, for example a sealing ring can be arranged on the tubular extension 7 within the annular gap 9.
- a pair of wheels 11 is provided as a supporting element for the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece 1 on an axle 10 connected to the connecting piece 3.
- a support plate 12 is additionally pivotally mounted by means of tabs 13 formed thereon.
- the support plate 12 is also via a film hinge 14 on the in relation to the working direction of the vacuum cleaner mouth piece 1 rear long side of the housing 15 of the mouthpiece body 2 articulated.
- the support plate 12 thus forms the coupling element between the mouthpiece body 2 and the connecting piece 3.
- the support plate 12 is expediently produced in one operation together with the housing 15 of the mouthpiece body 2, the film hinge 14 being formed at the same time.
- the mouthpiece body 2 no longer tends to rattle when it is moved backwards, and a perfect and complete support of the mouthpiece body 2 on the surface to be suctioned off is ensured during the forward movement of the mouthpiece.
- a pair of wheels 11 is provided to support the mouthpiece. Such a pair of wheels 11 can optionally be dispensed with and the mouthpiece is supported solely via the support plate 12.
- FIG. 3 shows a further possibility of decoupling the two subchannels 4a and 4b.
- the ends 16 and 17 of the two sub-channels lying in front of one another are connected to one another via an elastic connecting part 18, for example a bellows.
- Such a connecting part 18 ensures, on the one hand, independent movements of the two subchannels 4a and 4b against one another and, on the other hand, takes over the necessary sealing functions.
- the displacement path between the two subchannels 4a and 4b is limited by a stop edge 19 provided at the transition between the first subchannel 4a and the pipe extension 7, which meets the edge 20 of the opening 6 when the two subchannels 4a and 4b are moved accordingly.
- the pivoting movement of the mouthpiece body 2 is limited by a first stop lug 21 formed on the second subchannel 4b.
- a second stop lug 22 which is also formed on the second subchannel 4b, limits the pivoting movement between the connecting piece 3 and the second subchannel 4b and enables the mouthpiece body 2 to be lifted off the surface to be suctioned off.
- the connecting piece 3 must be pivoted clockwise by means of a connected suction pipe.
- the second sub-channel 4b is carried upwards and the mouthpiece body 2 is thereby lifted off the floor.
- the first stop lug 21 lies against the wall of the housing 15.
