Description

The invention relates to a panel for cladding walls or ceilings of buildings, in which two parallel longitudinal edges are profiled in such a way that a longitudinal insertion edge engages in the longitudinal position in a receiving longitudinal edge, the receiving longitudinal edge two opposite one another, approximately parallel to the panel surface has running walls and in the position of use thus encompasses the top and bottom of the longitudinal insertion edge of the neighboring panel and the cross section of the longitudinal insertion edge tapers towards its end face, a cavity between the longitudinal edges and the surface of the panel being foamed with an insulating material.

Such a panel is known from US-A 4 104 840. It is provided that the insertion longitudinal edge tapers in cross section, so that it can be inserted into the receiving longitudinal edge without problems. For the mutual fastening of these longitudinal edges, however, only an adhesive bond is provided, which can suffer over time primarily as a result of heat fluctuations and the resulting thermal movements of the panels, which can heat up strongly and cool down strongly, especially on their surface.

From DE-A 2 917 025 and also from DE-U 7 102 476 a panel for covering ceilings and walls is known, in which the longitudinal insertion edge and the longitudinal receiving edge can be positively connected to one another. When assembling, however, the result is that the receiving longitudinal edge, which has an undercut, has to be spread and widened, so that there is a risk of permanent deformation and thus an inadequate plug connection. Moisture can also penetrate through such a widened insertion longitudinal edge.

In the panel according to DE-U 7102 476, only a smaller part of the longitudinal longitudinal edge is groove-shaped for receiving a projection of the longitudinal longitudinal edge. The tops of adjacent panels should be directly aligned with each other. Therefore, in this previously known panel, three points are braced against one another in cross section, one of which is located directly below the surface of the longitudinal edges of butt-touching parts, while a second point of contact is arranged near the entrance to the groove-shaped interior of the longitudinal edge of the receptacle and the third one for the anchorage is the most important point behind the undercut. Due to this bracing at three cross-sectional points, absorption of thermal expansion of the panels is practically impossible or is only possible via their deformation. With this panel, there is also the danger, in the case of large temperature fluctuations, that the panel assembly becomes invalid or that even the connection of adjacent panels is released.

It is therefore the task of creating a panel of the type mentioned at the outset, with which, with a defined insertion depth of the longitudinal edges of adjacent panels, even larger thermal expansions can be absorbed without deformation of the panels and without loosening the connection, but at the same time facilitating assembly and above all with assembly, bending of the two walls of the longitudinal edge of the receptacle can be avoided.

To achieve this object, the panel according to the invention is characterized in that the receiving longitudinal edge has an undercut in its interior and the insertion longitudinal edge has a hook-shaped projection which detects this undercut in the use position, that the encompassed insertion longitudinal edge springs back against its top and in the use position between the end face of the insertion longitudinal edge and the groove base of the receiving longitudinal edge as well as between the front side of the undercut in the insertion direction and the recessed area of the insertion longitudinal edge, a play is provided, the undercut of the undercut projection within the receiving longitudinal edge Cross-section is approximately hook-shaped and its hook end rests on the rear abutment surface of the undercut, while the outside of the hook has play to the groove base of the longitudinal edge of the receptacle and ei n the region of the insertion longitudinal edge forming the hook back runs obliquely in cross section to the end face in the sense that the cross-sectional tapering of the insertion longitudinal edge is formed.

The game mentioned allows the two longitudinal edges to shift on both sides and also to move into one another if the panels expand due to greater heating. At the same time, however, an unintentional pulling out of one panel from the other during assembly or an insufficiently deep insertion is prevented by the fact that the undercut and the matching hook-shaped projection provide positive locking against the release movement. The fitter can practically pull them apart in the aligned position after joining two panels so that the projection can strike the back of the undercut. This also ensures the greatest possible freedom of play in the direction of insertion, i.e. set for thermal expansion.

The hook-shaped design of the projection engaging behind the undercut in the longitudinal edge of the receptacle simplifies production and is favorable for the fixed connection against the direction of insertion. The tapering of the cross-section of the insertion longitudinal edge makes assembly easier and prevents the two walls of the receiving longitudinal edge from bending open. This tapering of the cross section, in conjunction with the hook opening, allows the narrower space between the two by a somewhat oblique arrangement of the panel with the insertion edge to overcome the undercut and the opposite wall of the receiving longitudinal edge with the hook part without the two walls having to be forced apart. It can also be disassembled without damaging the longitudinal edges.

It is particularly expedient and favorable for assembly if the distance between the outer sides of the walls forming the longitudinal edge of the receptacle corresponds approximately to the total thickness or thickness of the panel. The insertion opening of this longitudinal edge is correspondingly large and the assembly is correspondingly simple.

The undercut can be designed as a sawtooth-like projection in cross section with an inclined rise in the insertion direction and on the rear side of the stop surface running approximately at right angles to the groove wall. Practically, the longitudinal insertion edge forms a groove, one wall of which has the projecting undercut. The matching projection can easily be placed behind this undercut by holding the panel - as already mentioned - with the insertion longitudinal edge initially at a slight angle to the panel with the receiving edge until the projection has reached the area behind the undercut . By tilting the inclined panel back into alignment with the other panel, the projection then comes directly behind the undercut.

Embodiments of the invention and in particular the shape of the longitudinal edges are the subject of claims 4 to 11. The measure of claim 7 is particularly advantageous, according to which the thickness reduction of the panel on the insertion longitudinal edge is wider than its engagement in the opposite longitudinal edge that in the assembled state a control joint is formed with two parallel areas of the interlocking longitudinal edges. This makes it possible to check at a glance whether the two edges are correctly inserted into one another and can easily measure whether the hook piece is also on the inside of the undercut and the desired play is present on the actual end faces. Since the reduction in thickness in this edge region is relatively slight, because it only corresponds to the thickness of one wall of the longitudinal edge of the receptacle, there is practically no impairment of the insulating effect.

The choice of the dimensions of the thickness of the longitudinal edges, which allows the two longitudinal edges to have a clamp or press fit with one another in the use position, results in a good seal at the contact points of the longitudinal edges.

Especially when combining the measures and features described above and in the claims results in a panel that allows a simple connection to the neighboring panel, but also allows large thermal expansions without elastic forces acting on the panels and practically not changing the manufacturing effort. Although the longitudinal edges allow a relative displacement of the panels, they are practically positively connected, so that a defined and defined insertion depth can be ensured during assembly. Since the longitudinal edge of the receptacle can practically utilize the entire thickness of the panels, the design of the panels according to the invention is particularly well applicable even if the panels have a relatively small overall thickness of, for example, between 10 and 20 mm. This is also advantageous because, in particular, thinner panels would tend to warp even more quickly under thermal stresses, but which are avoided in the embodiment according to the invention by the provided freedom of movement.

The invention is explained in more detail below with its details that are essential to it, using the drawing in an exemplary embodiment.

It shows in a schematic representation:
  • Fig. 1 shows a cross section of a panel with a neighboring panel engaging at the longitudinal edge of its receptacle and
  • 2 shows a representation corresponding approximately to FIG. 1, wherein a panel is inclined relative to the neighboring panel in order to be joined or separated therefrom and despite the positive fit in the position of use
  • Fig.1 to allow easy assembly or disassembly.

A panel 1 is used to clad walls or ceilings of buildings, the two parallel longitudinal edges 2 and 3 of the panel 1 being profiled such that they fit into one another in a form-fitting manner according to FIG. 1. The longitudinal receiving edge 2 has an undercut 4 in its interior and the longitudinal insertion edge 3 or the longitudinal edge 3 of the neighboring panel that fits into the longitudinal receiving edge 2 2 has a projection 5 that detects this undercut 4. The cavity between the longitudinal edges 2 and 3 and the surface 6 of the panel 1 is foamed in the embodiment with an insulating material 7.

In both figures it can be seen that the longitudinal undercut 4 having the undercut 4 in the insertion direction in front of the undercut 4 has two mutually opposite walls 8 and 9 which run approximately parallel to the panel surface 6 and in the position of use according to. Fig.1 so that the top 10 and the bottom 11 of the insertion longitudinal edge 3 of the neighboring panel encompasses. The encompassed insertion longitudinal edge 3 jumps back relative to its upper side 6, so that the upper side 10 of this longitudinal edge 3 lies somewhat behind the upper side 6 of the panel. In particular, it is clear in Fig. 1 that in the position of use between the end face 12 of the insertion longitudinal edge 3 and the groove base 13 of the approximately groove-shaped receiving longitudinal edge 3 and also between the front side or surface 14 of the undercut 4 in the insertion direction and this opposite recessed area 15 of the insertion longitudinal edge 3 a game is provided. The distance corresponds to the outside sides of the receiving longitudinal edge 2 forming walls 8 and 9 in the embodiment of the total thickness or thickness of the panel 1, so that overall the largest possible opening on this insertion longitudinal edge 2 is available, which makes this solution useful for relatively thin panels 1 and becomes advantageous.

The undercut 4 is formed in the exemplary embodiment as a sawtooth-like projection in cross section with an inclined rise in the insertion direction on its front side 14 and on the rear side approximately at right angles to the groove wall 8 stop surface 16. If necessary, a somewhat more obtuse angle than a right angle is sufficient, or an acute angle of this stop surface 16 to the groove wall 8 could even be provided.

The projection 5 engaging behind the undercut 4 within the longitudinal receiving edge 2 in the use position is approximately hook-shaped. According to FIG. 1, the hook end 17 in the position of use expediently bears against the rear abutment surface 16 of the undercut 4, while the outside of the hook as the end face 12 to the groove bottom 13 of the longitudinal receiving edge 2 has the aforementioned play. This results in a defined position of the two panels relative to one another during assembly, with sufficient freedom of movement for thermal expansion being simultaneously planned in the interior of the positively locking connection. Thermal expansion can therefore take place without hindrance without the elastic forces of the panels being stressed if the play is chosen to be sufficiently large in accordance with the coefficient of expansion. This also prevents warping of the panels from the outset due to their mutual connection due to their high temperature.

A region 18 of the insertion longitudinal edge 3 forming the hook back runs obliquely in the cross-section towards the end face 12 of the hook or panel 1 in the sense that the cross section of the insertion longitudinal edge 3 tapers towards its end face 12. Above all in FIG. 2, one can see the peculiarity and importance of this measure, which allows the longitudinal edge 3 to be inserted into the longitudinal edge 2 despite the undercut 4 located in the interior of the longitudinal edge 2. The reduction in the thickness of the longitudinal edge 3 in the region of its top 10 and the length of the wall 8 also play a corresponding role and it is ensured that the length of an imaginary vertical line on the bevel 18 forming the hook back of the insertion longitudinal edge 3 to to the opposite, somewhat retracted upper side 10 of this longitudinal edge 3 is equal to or smaller than the distance between the two inner sides of the walls 8 and 9 of the groove forming the receiving longitudinal edge 2. According to FIG. 2, only the panels to be inserted need to be set somewhat obliquely to the neighboring panels in order to be able to guide the two longitudinal edges 2 and 3 into one another without exertion of force and without deformations. When the projection 5 has reached the area behind the undercut 4, the inclined panels are brought into alignment with the other panels 1, after which the situation according to FIG. 1 is established. If necessary, a slight tensile force can still be applied to the two panels against their insertion direction in order to bring the hook surface 17 against the stop surface 16 of the projection 4.

The inserted longitudinal edge 3 encompassed in the use position also tapers in the recessed area 10 adjacent to the upper side 6 immediately before the undercut 4 into the hook opening, the bevel of this taper in the use position parallel to the bevel on the front side 14 of the undercut 4 runs. In practice, this results in a bevel on both sides for the insertion edge 3 toward its end face 12, through which the cross section of this longitudinal edge 3 is tapered toward the end face 12. This also facilitates the plug-in assembly according to FIG. 2.

In Fig. 1 it can still be seen that the edge of the top wall 8 of the receiving longitudinal edge 2 in the position of use extends at least to the beginning 19 of the bevel 18 located on the opposite side of the insertion longitudinal edge 3 or even exceeds this beginning 19. This also results in a firm connection of the two panels 1 in the transverse direction, so that their surfaces 6 are securely aligned with one another.

The reduction 10 in the thickness of the panel 1 on the insertion longitudinal edge 3 is wider in the exemplary embodiment than its engagement in the opposite longitudinal edge 2 in the use position, so that in the assembled state a control joint 20 is formed with two parallel areas of the interlocking longitudinal edges, namely the Edge of the wall 8 on the one hand and the offset 21 which causes the reduction in thickness 10. After assembly, the width of the groove 20 can be checked and if its boundaries are not parallel, the joining of the longitudinal edges is not yet in order. Furthermore, a control joint 20 which is too narrow could indicate that the play between the end faces 12 and 13 is not present in the interior of the plug connection or is selected too little.

The undercut 4 is arranged in the embodiment in the groove-shaped receiving longitudinal edge 2 on the groove wall 8, which is provided on the surface 6 of the panel 1 or adjoins this, while the opposite groove wall 9 as an extended leg of the panel 1 in essential forming material, for example an aluminum sheet, is formed. These edges 2 and 3 can thus also be manufactured, bent and shaped in one piece with the panel 1.

It can then also be ensured that the two longitudinal edges 2 and 3 have a clamping and press fit with one another in the position of use, so that a good seal is achieved in this area and rain can also be prevented from the clad wall. The exposed to this rain top 6 and the flat joint 20 located there can thus drain such water in a vertical arrangement without it in the inside of the longitudinal edges. Even small amounts of liquid inside the plug connection can drain downwards because they are prevented from making further contact with the beginning 19 of the slope 18 and the wall 9 from penetrating further to the rear of the panels 1 and thus to the building wall.

The skin 22 of the panel 1, which is preferably formed from aluminum sheet, is bent in one piece to the cross-section of the hook and, at the end of the oblique hook back 18, advantageously has a slightly greater distance from the opposite outside 10 of the longitudinal insertion edge 3 than after the assembly, so after the assembly that this bent edge area can be compressed in a spring-like manner during assembly. As a result, the aforementioned press fit and the sealing effect is achieved by the assembly by itself. The oblique hook back 18 has at its beginning 19 a continuation 23 parallel to the surface 6, which is surmounted by the groove wall 9 of the receiving longitudinal edge 2 of the neighboring panel in the use position in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1. Thus, the aforementioned slight spring force is better distributed at this beginning 19.
