Abstract

1438859 Laminated "sandwich" panels SOC INDUSTRIA PROFILATI SOMAGLIA SpA 31 July 1973 36299/73 Heading B5N [Also in Division E1] Heat insulating panels comprising two metal sheets 2, 2<SP>1</SP> and a core 3 of insulating material, e.g. expanded polyurethane foam are provided at one end with a protruberance 4 of rectangular cross-section and at the other end with a cavity 5 to fixedly receive at least a portion of said protruberance 4, the protruberance 4 and cavity 5 not being completely faced with metal sheet, the upper edges 6, 6<SP>1</SP> of the panel being chamfered and the lower edges 7, 7<SP>1</SP> being cut stepwise with the vertical part of the step also being chamfered, the panels being mounted to a support 10 by a screw 9 passing through a hole 8 provided in the step portion 7<SP>1</SP> cut in the lower edge of the panel which is provided with the cavity. The screw 9 is preferably located in the cavity defined by the step provided with the hole 8 and the protruberance 4 when the latter is fitted into the cavity 5. A gasket or packing 12 is preferably provided between the vertical walls of the protruberance and the cavity to prevent water ingress.
