Definitions

  • the invention relates to a safety ski binding, as specified in the preamble of claim 1 and claim 4, respectively.
  • a known binding of this type which is described in DE-A1 3 102 010, uses two pairs of toggle levers to lock the sole holder in the driving position. But these are difficult to assemble.
  • the known heel holder is relatively complicated in its construction. It is particularly disadvantageous that the end region facing the heel holder of both the sole plate and the base plate has an upward slope, the control curve for the roller being formed on the crosspiece of this oblique course of the base plate.
  • FIGS. 11 to 13 a further embodiment of the heel area is disclosed in FIGS. 11 to 13.
  • the roller is supported on a control cam which is fastened on a section of the base plate which runs essentially parallel to the upper side of the ski.
  • the end section of the sole plate which carries the heel holder also runs under a bend, obliquely upwards and backwards away from the top of the ski or the base plate.
  • the invention has for its object to eliminate the disadvantages of the known designs and to create a safety ski binding that is easy to manufacture and assemble, the manufacture of toggle levers is unnecessary, and both base plate and sole plate can be produced without kinks.
  • control lever designed as a control lever is articulated on that transverse axis which is provided for the locking rocker, there is no need to use a separate bearing axis for the control lever. Furthermore, the control lever acts directly on the intermediate member, so that the flow of force is favored for the horizontal release.
  • the measure according to claim 4 to replace the pivot lever by the intermediate member, saves one component and thereby inevitably reduces the undesirable friction that occurs between the individual components.
  • the measure of claim 2 ensures that the heel holder can be easily assembled.
  • claim 3 has the advantage of an arrangement of the control cam protected against snow and dirt for triggering in a plane parallel to the top of the ski and the associated roller.
  • the structure of the heel holder for the second embodiment is further simplified by the feature of claim 5.
  • the measure of claim 6 reduces the friction between the annular piston and the intermediate member abutting it.
  • FIG. 1 is a vertical longitudinal central section through the rear end of the ski binding in the driving position according to the first embodiment and FIG. 2 is a plan view of the rear end of the ski binding partially cut along the line II-II in FIG. 1.
  • 1a shows a detail in the diagram.
  • Fig. 3 is a vertical longitudinal section through the heel holder in the open position after a frontal fall and in Fig. 4 the same section is shown after a fall.
  • FIGS. 5 and 6 show a longitudinal central section or a representation corresponding to FIG. 2 of a further embodiment in the driving position.
  • the safety ski binding shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 is a so-called "fake” plate binding (plate binding of a special type).
  • a base plate 2 which carries a known and also not shown pivot.
  • a sole plate 1 can be pivoted about the pivot in a horizontal plane.
  • a toe piece, not shown is attached, which is not the subject of the present invention.
  • the rear end of the sole plate 1 carries a heel holder, designated in its entirety by 3, with a housing 6.
  • a body 4 On the area of the base plate 2 which extends below the heel holder 3, a body 4 is further fastened which carries a control cam 4a on its side facing the pivot pin. On the opposite side, the body 4 has a rib 4b which engages in a groove 5, which is circular in plan view, in the housing 6 of the heel holder 3. Of course, the pivot pin forms the center point for the circular arc of the groove 5. Between the body 4 and the sole plate 1 there is a gap for a roller 7 which bears against the control curve 4a.
  • the housing 6 of the heel holder 3 has on the side facing the pivot a fork-shaped extension 8 which is screwed onto the sole plate 1. Furthermore, in the housing 6 there is a bore 9 running parallel to the top of the ski and in the longitudinal direction of the ski, in which on the one hand an annular piston 10 provided with bilateral lugs 10a and on the other hand another piston 11 which is guided in a bore of the annular piston 10 is accommodated.
  • the annular piston 10 is acted upon by a first spring 12, the preload of which is adjustable in a manner known per se. Coaxial with the first spring 12 is a second spring 13, which acts on the piston 11. This spring 13 can also be adjusted in its pretension.
  • a transverse bore in which a first transverse axis 14 is mounted.
  • a unit is articulated to this, which consists of a sole holder 15, a step spur 16 and a release lever 17. On its inside, the unit carries a control cam 18.
  • an intermediate member 19 is mounted on the first transverse axis 14, which is supported on one side on the end face of the annular piston 10 by means of projections 19b (see FIG. 2), and on its underside carries a second transverse axis 21, on which an intermediate lever 22 is mounted, which rests on the one hand on the inner piston 11 and on the other hand on a one-armed locking rocker 23.
  • the locking rocker 23 is mounted on a third transverse axis 24, which passes through the fork-shaped extension 8, which is screwed onto the soleplate 1, and on which a two-armed control lever 20 is also mounted.
  • the two-armed control lever 20 bears against the intermediate member 19 with projections 20a.
  • the control lever 20 also carries, as shown in particular FIG. 1 a, a downwardly projecting axis 20 b on which the roller 7 is mounted.
  • the sole holder 15 In the driving position, the sole holder 15 is held by the first spring 12 and the second spring 13.
  • the control curve 4a is approximately V-shaped, so that in the driving position the roller 7 tries to keep the sole plate 1 under the influence of the spring 12 in the longitudinal direction of the ski.
  • a release of the sole holder 15 does not take place in the case of a pure fall on the heel holder 3.
  • the spring 12 is already compressed somewhat, so that the sole holder 15 is only loaded by the second spring 13, which facilitates the release of the ski boot.
  • the release lever 17 In the event of an arbitrary release, the release lever 17 is pivoted clockwise. The end of the locking rocker 23 slides along the control cam 18 of the unit, which results in a compression of the two springs 12 and 13. As soon as the release point of the heel holder 3 is reached, the release lever 17 automatically pivots into the open position.
  • This heel holder 3 ' also has a housing 6' which is screwed onto the soleplate 1 'by means of a fork-shaped extension 8'.
  • a bore 9' which runs parallel to the top of the ski in the longitudinal direction of the ski and in which an annular piston 10 'is secured against rotation.
  • a further piston 11 ' is guided in the bore of this annular piston 10'.
  • Each piston 10 'or 11' is acted upon by a compression spring 12 'or 13'.
  • the springs 12 'and 13' are nested coaxially.
  • the pretensioning of the spring 13 ' is set by means of a screw 30 which is screwed into a spring plate 31 which is supported on the piston 11'.
  • the screw 30 rests with its head on a threaded sleeve 32, which is screwed into a further spring plate 33, which is opposite the spring plate 31.
  • the threaded sleeve 32 is supported on a transverse wall of the housing 6 'and penetrates a bore in the same.
  • the spring plate 33 has a lateral extension which protrudes into a recess 6'a of the housing 6 'which runs in the longitudinal direction of the ski and is provided with a scale and thus prevents the spring plate from rotating and which serves to display the set spring preload.
  • An intermediate member 19 ' is also mounted on the first transverse axis 14', which is supported on the right side in FIG. 5 on the end face of the annular piston 10 'and which carries a second transverse axis 21' in its lower region.
  • An intermediate lever 22 ' is mounted on this, which engages on the one hand on the inner piston 11' and on the other hand on a locking rocker 23 '.
  • This locking rocker 23 is mounted on a third transverse axis 24 'which passes through the fork-shaped extension 8' of the housing 6 '.
  • the heel holder 3 ' In contrast to the first embodiment the heel holder 3 'carries the intermediate member 19' a downwardly projecting axis 19'a, on which a roller 7 'is mounted, which rolls on the cam 4'a of the body 4'.
  • the control curve 4'a is provided for the roller 7 'on a projecting web of the body 4' of the base plate 2 '.
  • the intermediate member 19, on the side facing the housing 6 ' carries two cams 19'b instead of projections 19b, which on the end face of the annular piston 10' running perpendicular to the axis of the bore 9 ' issue.
  • the release lever 17 ' has an approximately U-shaped cross section and is mounted on a further transverse axis 34 which is anchored in the region of the upper end of the locking rocker 23'.
  • the function of the heel holder 3 ' corresponds essentially to that of the first embodiment.
  • the preload of the inner spring 13 ' is changed by turning the screw 30.
  • both springs 12 'and 13' are changed in their pretension, especially since both springs are supported with their right ends (see FIG. 5) on the spring plate 33 which can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction of the ski by means of the threaded sleeve 32.
