Definitions
- the invention relates to an arc furnace according to the preamble of claim 1.
- An arc furnace of this type has become known through the magazine ELEKTROW ⁇ RME international, April 1983, No. 2, edition B, title page.
- Each bar is assigned three roller guides at two different heights, the rollers of which each form an angle of 90 ° to one another. This means that two rollers each lie in a plane that runs parallel to the row arrangement of the lifting columns and determine the distance between the adjacent lifting columns due to their space requirements.
- roller guides for the lifting columns are fastened together with the cover structure on a portal, which can be swiveled around a vertical pivot and is supported on the platform of the kiln cradle using support wheels.
- the invention has for its object to provide an electric arc fen of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1, which makes it possible to reduce the distance between the lifting columns and thus their space requirement. This should also make it possible to use a commercially available design for the pivot bearing arrangement of the portal, which makes special manufacture superfluous.
- the lifting columns on the side facing the furnace cover and on the side facing away from the furnace cover each have two spaced-apart raceways for the rollers of the roller guides, and the raceway surfaces form an angle of less than 180 from the associated roller guides ° is.
- the lifting columns can be arranged next to each other at a very small distance from one another, because there is no space for the roller guides between the individual lifting columns.
- the lifting columns are preferably formed with a rectangular cross-section and arranged so that the broad sides of adjacent lifting columns are opposite one another at a short distance.
- the raceways for the rollers are then arranged on the narrow sides of the rectangular cross section.
- roller slewing ring Due to the small footprint of the floor plan for the lifting columns including the roller guides, it is possible to use a commercially available roller slewing ring, such as is used for excavators and the like, so that a special design can be dispensed with.
- the construction according to the invention is particularly suitable because of its small distance between the lifting columns for an electric arc furnace, in which, according to the earlier application mentioned, the electrode support arms have a layer of copper or another highly conductive material on the outside, through which the high-current conductor for the current supply to the other Electrode adjacent contact jaws is formed. This makes it possible to achieve the desired small distance between the individual support arms without the need for special projections at the connection points to the lifting columns in the case of the outer electrode support arms.
- FIG. 1 shows an arc furnace 1 resting on a furnace cradle 2 with an furnace cover 3.
- the furnace cover 3 closes the arc furnace 1.
- the cover 3 is pivoted to the side, so that the furnace chamber 4 is open at the top and the furnace can be charged.
- the three-phase arc furnace has three approximately horizontally extending electrode support arms 5 '6, and 7, of which the electrode support arms 5 and 7 are in a lower level and the electrode support arm 6 is in an upper level.
- an electrode 9 is fastened with the aid of a clamping device 8, which protrudes through an associated electrode passage opening in the cover 3 into the furnace chamber 4.
- the electrode support arms 5, 6 and 7 are at least part of their length along Provide the outside with an electrically highly conductive layer (not shown) which forms the high-current conductor for the current supply to the contact jaw of the associated electrode in this area.
- cover support arms 10 and 11 are part of a cover support structure which is not shown in all details here.
- a connector 12 e.g. the cover support arm 11 in connection with a portal 13
- the portal 13 is a construction which can be pivoted about a vertical axis A and which not only supports the cover support structure but also the entire electrode and electrode holding arrangement.
- roller guides 14a, 14b Fixedly arranged in the portal 13 are a plurality of roller guides, specifically the roller guides 14a, 14b; 15a, 15b and 16a, 16b, to which roller guides are assigned in each case in a lower level, of which the lower roller guides 17a, 17b assigned to the roller guides 14a, 14b can be seen in FIG. 1.
- each lifting column in the upper roller guide plane is assigned two pairs of rollers 14a and 14b, 15a and 15b as well as 16a and 16b which are rotatably mounted in a bearing block.
- the lower roller guide level is designed in the same way.
- the roller guides serve to guide lifting columns 19, 20 and 21 arranged in a row, at the upper ends of which the electrode support arms 5, 6 and 7 are fastened.
- the lifting columns 19, 20 and 21 have a non-square, rectangular cross section with narrow sides a and wide sides b.
- the wide sides b of adjacent lifting columns lie opposite one another at a short distance, so that the overall width of the arrangement is as small as possible.
- Each lifting column is assigned two pairs of rollers in two levels, for example the roller guides 14a, 14b are assigned to the lifting column 19 in an upper level and the roller guides 17a, 17b in a lower level, each roller guide containing two rollers 18.
- the rollers 18 of roller guides respectively assigned to a lifting column form in a plane in plan view in "0", i.e. the axes of rotation of the one, pair of rollers, e.g.
- the rollers assigned to the roller pair of the roller guide 15a form an angle between them, viewed from the side facing away from the raceway surfaces, which is less than 180 degrees. This angle is preferably between 90 and 160 degrees. Due to the inclined arrangement of the rollers, the roller bearings can absorb moments about vertical axes.
- the "0" arrangement of the rollers advantageously increases the lever arm of the pair of forces of the rollers.
- FIG. 3 shows a simplified horizontal sectional view of the lifting column 21 with the pair of rollers of the roller guide 16a mounted in a bearing block for better illustration.
- the opposite pair of rollers is not shown in the drawing, so that the design of the lifting column can be seen better. Since the axes of rotation of the two rollers of the roller guide 16a enclose an angle, as said, the raceways 30 also enclose an angle in the area mentioned when the raceway surfaces are flat.
- the portal 13 is connected via connecting links, not shown here, to a horizontal support 22 below the furnace cradle 2 (FIG. 1). Each rotational movement of the portal 13 therefore goes hand in hand with a corresponding rotational movement of the carrier 22.
- the carrier 22 supports the individual lifting columns 19, 20 and 21. Each lifting column 19, 20 and 21 can be separately moved upwards by means of lifting cylinders (not shown), so that the attached electrode support arm is also moved upwards and the associated electrode is raised.
- the portal has a roller slewing ring 23, consisting of a slewing ring lower part 24, which is let into a recess 26 in the furnace cradle 2, and a slewing ring upper part 25.
- Flanges 27 and 28 of the slewing ring parts take up the roles in their mutually facing sides.
- the upper slewing ring part 25 can thus be pivoted with respect to the lower, stationary slewing ring part 24 about the vertical axis A (this also corresponds to the central longitudinal axis of the lifting column 20).
- the roller slewing ring 23 is a commercially available component, as it is e.g. is used in excavators or similar machines.
- the individual parts of the furnace assume the position outlined in FIG. 1.
- the lid 3 is pivoted to the side so that the furnace space is accessible.
- the individual lifting columns 19, 20 and 21 are first moved upwards, at least until the lower ends (not shown in the drawing) of all electrodes lie at least above the upper edge of the furnace vessel and do not collide with the furnace edge when pivoted .
- the cover 3 is raised somewhat by means not shown here.
- the lid 3 held by the lid support structure 10, 11 is then together with the electrode support arms and the attached thereto. hanging electrodes pivoted to the side until the furnace interior is free for charging, so that the parts assume the position shown in Fig. 2.
- the pivoting movement is carried out by rotating the upper turntable part 25 with the aid of drive means not shown here.
- the furnace is closed in the reverse order of the steps described.
