Abstract

261,531. Forshaw, R. Oct. 26, 1925. Cutting slices in succession.-The reciprocating table of a slicing-machine is reciprocated on antifriction rollers some or all of which are arranged at an incline to engage correspondingly inclined tracks. As shown in Fig. 1, the table d is supported by rollers b journaled on studs a screwed into inwardly directed inclined flanges c. The tracks e are secured to the base h by bolts f which pass through elongated holes which permit lateral adjustment by screws g and lock nuts. Three rollers may be used, two at one side of the table and one at the opposite side. In a modification, the planes of the rollers converge downwardly towards the centre of the table, the guides e, formed on opposite sides of a single guide rail, being arranged centrally to the table. In another modification, the doubly inclined guide rail is arranged at one side of the table, the other side being supported by an upright roller.
