Der von dem Deckeltragwerk 10, 11 gehaltene Deckel 3 wird dann zusammen mit den Elektrodentragarmen und den daran hängenden Elektroden zur Seite geschwenkt, bis der Ofeninnenraum zum Chargieren frei ist, so daß die Teile die in Fig. 2 dargestellte Lage einnehmen.
