Die Drehsicherung des Hubstempels gegenüber dem Drehportal kann beispielsweise durch eine senkrechte Nut im Drehportal erfolgen, in die ein seitlich am Hubstempel 24 eingesetzter Stift eingreift. Die Drehsicherung des Hubstempels 24 gegenüber dem Deckel 4 erfolgt bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel durch eine Anflachung 25 des Hubstemples, die etwa senkrecht ausgebildet ist und an einer entsprechend ausgebildeten Gegenfläche im Bereich der Hebeöse anliegt. Der Hubstempel 24 kann aus der dargestellten Eingriffsposition in eine den Deckel freigebende Freigabeposition abgesenkt und außerdem aus der dargestellten Position unter Mitnahme des Deckels so weit angehoben werden, daß dieser beim Drehen des Drehportals ungehindert zur Seite geschwenkt werden kann. Die Arbeitsweise des zweiten Ausführungsbei spiels entspricht der des ersten Ausführungsbeispiels. Claims (15)

1. Apparatus for lifting and pivoting the cover (4) of the furnace vessel (2) of an electric arc furnace (1), the apparatus being arranged laterally of the furnace vessel (2) and including a carrier member (13, 14, 24, 26, 27) which can be raised and lowered and which directly engages the edge of the cover, wherein at least one lifting apparatus is fixed on a laterally pivotable rotary portal arrangement (6) arranged beside the furnace vessel and the carrier member (13, 14, 24, 26, 27) is released from the edge of the cover in the lowered position (13') and in the lifting operation engages into a lifting eye (15, 16) which is adapted to the shape of the carrier member, at the edge of the cover.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that, with two lifting apparatuses, the laterally pivotable rotary portal arrangement (6) is pivotable about a vertical pivot axis disposed outside the axis of symmetry (28) between the two carrier members (26, 27).
3. Apparatus according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that on the side towards the cover (4) the carrier member (13, 14, 24, 26, 27) has a lower thrust bearing member (18) while on the side remote from the cover it has an upper thrust bearing member (19) disposed at a higher level, and the two thrust bearing members bear against co-operating bearing members (20, 21) which are matched thereto, when the carrier member engages into the associated lifting eye (15, 16) of the cover (4).
4. Apparatus according to claim 3 characterised in that the upper thrust bearing member (19) and the associated co-operating bearing member (21), in the position of engagement of the carrier member with the cover lying on the furnace vessel, are in the form of inclined surfaces which are inclined at an angle (a) of from 5° to 20° relative to a vertical plane.
5. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 4 characterised in that the rotary portal arrangement carries at least one lift column (9) of an electrode carrier arm (10) of the electric arc furnace (1).
6. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the carrier member which can be raised and lowered is in the form of a claw (13, 14) which is pivotable about a horizontal pivot axis (12).
7. Apparatus according to claim 6 characterised in that the horizontal pivot axis (12) is arranged at a level which corresponds to the level between the upper edge and the lower edge of the cover (4) when lying on the furnace vessel (2).
8. Apparatus according to claim 7 characterised in that the horizontal pivot axis (12) is arranged at a level which corresponds to the level between the upper edge and the lower edge of the member or members in the cover (4), through which the respective electrode passes through the cover.
9. Apparatus according to one of claims 6 to 8 characterised in that the horizontal pivot axis (12) is displaceable in the direction of the cover (4) for horizontal adjustment of engagement of the pivotable claws (13, 14) into the lifting eyes (15, 16) on the cover (4).
10. Apparatus according to claim 9 characterised in that the horizontal pivot axis (12) is arranged in an adjustable eccentric disc.
11. Apparatus according to one of claims 6 to 10 characterised in that two pivotable claws (13, 14) are disposed at a spacing relative to each other, the claws being fixedly connected together for synchronous actuation by a transverse shaft (29).
12. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the carrier member which can be raised and lowered is in the form of a lift ram (24, 26, 27).
13. Apparatus according to claim 12 characterised in that the lift ram (24) is prevented from rotating relative to the rotary portal arrangement (6) and, upon engagement into the associated lifting eye (15), relative to the cover (4).
14. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 13 characterised in that the cover is in the form of a liquid-cooled cover (4).
15. Apparatus according to claim 14 characterised in that the lifting eye is provided in an outer carrier ring (5) of the liquid-cooled cover (4).
