- Eccentric screw pumps have the advantage that their flow rate at the constant speed of the rotary drive is practically independent of the flow resistance in the pressure line, so that the latter can be optimally dimensioned for its respective use. Eccentric screw pumps have the further advantage that high pressures can be achieved.
- eccentric screw pumps cannot handle large solids. It has therefore already been proposed to connect the eccentric screw pump upstream of a shredder, which will shred all the parts sucked in by the eccentric screw pump (see H. Putz "Abwasserhebeanlagen", trade journal for sanitary, heating, air conditioning, issue 23, 35th JG, 1st edition, Dec. 1980, Berlin).
