Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a plastic closure with a snap hinge for solid and deformable containers, with a lower part with a pouring opening and a lower part which is firmly connected via a film hinge cap.
  • Closures of the type mentioned above are known in countless embodiments. However, these can be divided into two basic shapes, namely closures with a hinge, which is only arranged in the lateral lateral surface, as is known, for example, from DE GM 8416 037 or WO 82/02532 (Wiesinger), or closures with a hinge , which extends beyond the lateral lateral surface into the top surface of the cap.
  • the second-mentioned embodiment has an elastically deformable toggle lever, of which a lever arm is articulated in the cover surface of the cap and at least one film hinge is arranged between the cap and the lower part. (US-A 4,386,714).
  • Sealing containers is an extremely complex process because many plastic closures have complicated shapes and therefore have to be aligned accordingly before they can be gripped by the processing machine. Clogging occurs more frequently in the machines.
  • a closure with a two-part cap has become known from US-A 4,358,032.
  • the flat cap is connected as a whole to the lower part by a film hinge and divided by a snap hinge.
  • the cap part facing the film hinge is connected to the lower part by means of peg-shaped locking elements.
  • the hinged flap part facing away from the film hinge has a spring leaf which snaps over a rib on the lower part when opening and closing.
  • US-A-4,022,352 shows a plastic closure with a bar-shaped closure cap which, when closed, lies in a groove in the lower part. This cap is rigid and not divided by a snap hinge.
  • a plastic closure with a snap hinge which is characterized in that the cap has the shape of a bar that fits in a form-fitting manner in a groove in the lower part, so that the cap surface is distanced from the bottom of the groove, and that the cap dividing snap hinge consists of two lateral film hinges, which lie in the cap surface and at least one tension band, which is arranged between them, offset downwards to the cap surface.
  • a closure designed in this way can be closed in the mold without stressing the snap hinge or when it is removed from the injection mold. A movement only takes place in the film hinge between the cap and the lower part.
  • a particularly flat embodiment can be achieved in that the snap hinge consists of two lateral film hinges, which lie in the cap surface and a tension band, which is offset between them downwards to the cap surface.
  • the closure is relatively large, relatively large forces can also act on the cap, it being advantageous if the locking element is at least one spike or hook-shaped part on the cap, which engages in a form-fitting manner in an opening penetrating the lower part.
  • the plastic closure consists of the two main parts, lower part 1 and cap 2. Lower part 1 and cap 2 are connected to one another via a relatively narrow film hinge 3. In the lower part 1 there are three concentric ring walls.
  • the innermost ring wall 11 is a sealing ring which is conical in cross section towards the bottom. It serves to seal the container to be sealed against the lower part of the closure.
  • the middle ring wall 12 is used to fasten the plastic closure onto the container to be closed. This can be a clamping bead or, as in the example shown, an internal thread 14.
  • the outermost ring wall 13 also represents the outer circumferential surface of the closure and serves for the aesthetic design of the closure and optical adaptation to the container B to be closed and gives the closure additional strength (see FIGS. 6-9).
  • Eccentrically within the inner ring wall 11, the lower part 1 has a through opening, the spout 15.
  • the lower part 1 is penetrated diametrically by a U-shaped groove 16 with a rectangular cross-section, which runs centrally to the film hinge 3 across the lower part.
  • the depth of the groove 16 corresponds to the height of the cap 2.
  • two openings 17 are visible between the middle 12 and outer ring wall 13 in the area closer to the film hinge 3 between the cap 2 and the lower part 1 (FIGS. 1, 4 and 5). .
  • the openings 17 run as close as possible to the side walls 18 of the groove 16.
  • the two-part cap 2 which is integral with the lower part 1, is designed in the form of a bar.
  • the bisection of the one-piece cap 2 cannot be seen from above (FIGS. 1 and 9).
  • Figure 1 only the pivot axis A is shown in dashed lines for explanation. In this way, it is also clearly visible from the top what is meant by part 21 of cap 2 facing film hinge 3 and film hinge 3 facing away.
  • the surface 22 of the cap lies flush with the surface 19 of the lower part and is parallel to it.
  • the area 20 of the cap 2 close to the film hinge 3 is considerably smaller than the area 21 facing away from the film hinge 3. Both areas 20, 21 of the cap are connected to one another in one piece via a snap hinge 4.
  • the snap hinge 4 is constructed such that the cross section of the cap 2 in the region of the pivot axis 17 is wedge-shaped on both sides except for one film hinge 23 each.
  • a drawstring 24 is arranged between the two film hinges 23, which run in the surface 22 of the cap 2.
  • the tension band 24 is offset parallel downwards relative to the plane of the surface 22. In the stretched position in which the cap is injected, the drawstring is free of tension.
  • the cap 2 is surrounded all around with an edge 25 which corresponds in height to the depth of the groove 16. From the film hinge 3, between the cap 2 and the lower part 1, near the area of the cap, a hook-shaped locking part 26 is injection-molded onto both sides of its edge 25. In the closed state of the closure, the parts 26 reach through the openings 17 in the lower part 1 and hook on the underside thereof. This rear part 20 of the cap 2 can no longer be opened without special manipulations (see FIGS. 6 and 7).
  • the front cap part 21, on the other hand, remains easily openable via the snap hinge 4.
  • the film hinge 3 thus only has an auxiliary function during the first closing process of the overall closure. Once closed, hinge 3 remains inoperative. Only the region 21 of the cap, which extends over the pouring opening 15 in the lower part and has a peg-shaped sealing element 27 that fits the pouring opening 15, has the actual closing function.
  • a niche 10 is provided in the lower part 1, so that it is easier to get under the cap area 21 with the fingertip.
  • the closure molded in the position according to FIG. 1 can thus be closed by simply pivoting around the film hinge 3 without actuating the snap hinge 4. This process can take place, for example, directly when the injection mold is opened, so that the closed closure can then be pushed out of the mold. A subsequent alignment and closing of the closures in expensive special machines is therefore not necessary.
  • the only partially detachable connection between the cap part 20 and the lower part 1 can also take place by means of angular beads on the side edges 25 of the cap part 20, which engage in corresponding grooves in the side walls 18 of the groove 16.
  • This arrangement can also be useful in the front cap area 21, _ to achieve a certain, but easily releasable locking of the part to be opened.
  • the snap hinge 4 can also be designed differently. Thus, instead of just one drawstring, two drawstrings can be provided which run in parallel. This divides the film hinge into three parts, which, however, run exactly in line.
  • Essential to the invention is neither the shape of the cap or the lower part, nor the design of the film hinge between the two parts. So the cap can easily cover the entire lower part and the division of the cap can be exactly half. However, it is important to move the snap hinge from the connection area between the cap and the lower part into the cap itself. However, this requires an only partially detachable connection between the cap part to be fixed and the lower part of the closure.
