Definitions
- the invention relates to a backflow valve of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- a backflow stop of this type is known from US Pat. No. 2,001,901.
- the sharp-edged mouth of a tube serves as a seat for the circumferential wall of the sealing element.
- the sealing element is a hemisphere made of rubber or a hemispherical cushion made of foam rubber or the like.
- the seat presses into the surrounding wall.
- the result is an almost single, linear sealing zone. If a solid contamination is held between the closure part and the seat, the elastic wall lies over the contamination. Even if the elastic wall deforms according to the shape of the contamination, there remains a very narrow sealing zone between the contamination and the seat, in which a perfect seal is not guaranteed.
- the seal between the elastic wall and the seat is also endangered immediately adjacent to the contamination.
- the generally applicable regulations require that the backflow trap must be able to cope with any jammed contamination without losing its sealing effect in the closed position.
- an articulated flap which is forcibly actuated by a lever serves as a sealing valve.
- the flap carries a slightly yielding solid plate over spiral springs, the edge of which is conical and covered with a solid rubber covering.
- the spring-loaded plate aligns itself in tolerances on the counter seat, but without being able to seal solid impurities, because the sealing body is not sufficiently elastic. Clean sealing seats can only be achieved with pure water passage.
- the invention has for its object to provide a backflow valve of the type mentioned, with which a good sealing effect is achieved even with the inclusion of a semi-hard or hard contamination between the closure part and the seat.
- the radial gap between the truncated cone contour and the seat surface nevertheless allows the sealing element to be slightly immersed until the edge of the upper side bears against the shoulder of the seat, the sealing element on the Contamination slipped by. Thanks to the elasticity of the wall, the entire sealing element deviates to the opposite side of the seat in the event of greater contamination, so that no noteworthy deformation initially takes place in the area of the contamination until the edge of the top lies against the shoulder and thereby encloses the contamination. An effective seal is already achieved in this flat first sealing zone.
- the deformation of the truncated cone shape occurs again under the closing pressure up to the seat surface and not in the closing direction, but starting from the edge resting on the shoulder, i.e. approximately opposite to the closing direction until the contamination is also enclosed on all sides in the area of the seat surface, so that a second sealing zone is also formed here.
- the contamination is enclosed over a large area, so that the required sealing effect occurs without problems. It is easy to open the backflow trap even when the contamination is trapped, because first the restoration takes place again in the frustoconical area, in which the sealing element detaches from the seat in the radial direction before the sealing element is lifted out of the seat in the opening direction.
- the embodiment according to claim 2 is expedient, since a conical seat surface achieves the largest possible sealing area between the sealing element and the seat surface in the second sealing point. Furthermore, because of the cone angle of the seat and the hollow body, there is an easy releasability of the backflow stop when opening.
- the stiffening plate ensures that the deformation of the hollow body pressed against the shoulder occurs predominantly in the region of the frustoconical wall, where it is helpful for achieving a perfect sealing function even when contamination is included.
- the stiffening plate allows the front of the hollow body to be shifted entirely to the side in the case of an enclosed contamination, so that the sealing element can easily dip into the seat before the deformation occurs on the shoulder.
- the hollow body centered in its entirety through the stiffening plate in the seat.
- a simple assembly results from the feature of claim 4, because the hollow body is clamped and clamped to the base body by a plate or the retaining ring.
- FIG. 5 Another alternative embodiment is set out in claim 5.
- the wall when pressing the hollow body when closing the closure part up to perfect. Sealing can deform and can swallow bumps without affecting the sealing functions.
- the hollow body is closed and relatively stable in shape. Pressure against the top of the hollow body causes the wall to bulge to reinforce the sealing effect.
- the hollow body could also have a toroidal shape and be fixed to the base body, where it is expediently mounted like on a rim. The outer circumference of the toroidal hollow body would then form the elastic peripheral wall, which is used to achieve the required sealing seat and is deformed for sealing.
- the hollow body could also be glued or screwed to the base body, with a firm air cushion remaining.
- the feature of claim 6 is also important, because not only an additional seal can be achieved with the shoulder, but also the deformation for the wall is derived by the contact pressure of the closure part.
- a further improvement of the sealing effect is achieved with the features of claim 7, because the soft sealing ring on the conical seat also has the property of swallowing semi-rigid or hard impurities and maintaining the sealing effect.
- the sealing effect can be further improved if the features of claim 8 are given. With the additional rubber or plastic pads, additional sealing surfaces are created, on which the closure part comes to rest in the correct closed position.
- closure part is a backflow flap of a cleaning pipe, which is suspended pivotably about an axis above the seat and is connected to an overhead pivot drive at least for the forced closing of the backflow closure
- the back pressure flap forming the closure part already has the features that are required for a forced actuation to open or close the back pressure flap, in particular when closing a gradually increasing pressure is exerted on the backflow flap, by which the wall is deformed to such an extent that it is also under Intermediate layer of rigid contamination provides a perfect seal.
- the roller sitting on the pin significantly reduces the frictional forces at the high closing forces for the backflow valve.
- claim 10 is also advantageous because it enables the installation of the cleaning pipe or the retrofitting of a cleaning pipe previously used for sewage free of faeces for sewage which has been treated with faeces, by simply replacing the insert part. If the insert cannot be replaced on its own, it is also sufficient to replace only the backflow flap with the special hollow body in order to improve the sealing function even with sewage contaminated with faeces.
- a cleaning tube (1) can be seen, the wall (42) of which has a cleaning opening (43) which is closed by a hood-shaped cover (2).
- an insert part (3) filling the pipe diameter (44) is inserted, which has a conical seat (4), which is part of a backflow stop (5).
- the insert (3) is inserted in a sealed manner with a seal (6) and is held in place by the cover (2) in this embodiment. If necessary. the insert (3) has a pointed end with which it reaches into the inlet pipe socket.
- the seat (4) could also be integrally formed on the pipe wall in the inlet area of the inlet pipe socket in the cleaning opening area.
- a conical extension (7) is provided, which embosses on the inside a sealing ring (8) made of a soft rubber or plastic with a Shore hardness between 40 and 60.
- the sealing ring (8) forms a conical seat (8a), which is adjoined by an inwardly projecting shoulder (9).
- the shoulder (9) faces away from the front end of the extension (7), which is covered by an overlapping retaining ring (10) which holds the sealing ring (8).
- the sealing ring (8) could be fixed with an undercut (46).
- a swivel bearing (11) for a swivel shaft (12) of a closure part (13) designed as a backflow flap is provided on the insert part (3) or on the opening wall (45) at the top of the cleaning opening (43), the swivel shaft (12) being designed as a peg is and is expediently engaged in the pivot bearing (11) so that it can be rotated, but cannot be easily lifted out.
- the closure part (13) has a flap type gene base body (14) on which a frustoconical hollow body (15) is fixed sealed.
- the hollow body (15) has a base edge (16) projecting inwards in this embodiment, an adjoining free wall (17) and a flat top side (18) in which a stiffening plate (19) is embedded.
- the edge of the hollow body (15) is designated (28). It borders on the wall (17).
- the base edge (16) is sealed by a retaining ring (20) with fastening screws (21) on the base body (14).
- the backflow flap is thus an air-cushioned closure part that presses absolutely tightly onto the seat when closed, even if there is garbage or bulky objects such as short branches in between.
- a hook (22) is formed on the back of the base body (14) and carries a curved guide track (23) with an end cam (24).
- a cross pin (25) can be moved, which sits at the end of a lever (26) which can be rotated with a shaft (27) in the cover (2) in order to move the closure part (13) from the position shown in 1 forced to lead into the position shown in Fig. 2, in which the hollow body (15) enters the seat (4).
- the edge (28) of the hollow body (15) bears against the shoulder (9), whereby when the lever (26) is finally pivoted counterclockwise, the wall (17) is deformed in the direction of the arrow (29) until it is deformed snugly against the ring (8).
- the hollow body (15) which also has a Shore hardness between 40 and 60, can be deformed to such an extent that it also swallows fixed or textile impurities fixed in the area of the backflow stop, i.e. that the sealing effect of the backflow valve is not impaired by the impurities because the wall (17) is so surface elastic and the seat surface (8a) is so flexible that the contamination does not disturb the closed position of the closing part (13) and does not impair the sealing effect can.
- With the closed position a seal is achieved not only between the shoulder (9) and the edge (28), but also over the entire circumference through the bulging wall (17).
- the base edge (16) of the hollow body (15) could also be turned outwards (at 30) around the edge of the base body (14).
- a special sealing ring could also be arranged there, which in the closed position rests against the shoulder between the ring (8) and the retaining ring (10) and provides an additional seal.
- the hollow body (15 ') is designed as a rubber or plastic molded part with a tire-like shape, the frustoconical shape of which is achieved by an asymmetrical cross section.
- One of the tire flanks (39) is fixed in a sealed manner with a tire bead (40) by means of a plate (41) to a circumferential shoulder (33) of the base body (14 ').
- the other flank (34) is clamped between two pressure plates (36 and 46), which are drawn together with screws (38), in the region of their outward-pointing bead (35).
- the outer plate (36) only has such a radial extension that it defines the upper side (18 ') of the hollow body (15'), but leaves the outer edge (28) with which the hollow body (15 ') can be placed against the shoulder (9) of the seat (4) in order to arch the elastic wall (17) outwards.
- the closure part (13 ') is here again a backflow flap for the backflow closure according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
- a toroidal or tubular hollow body could also be used like a tire on the base body (14 or 14 ' ) which, with its outer circumference, forms the elastically deformable wall for the sealing function.
