Definitions
- the invention relates to a resistance element with meandering current paths according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such inherently stabilized resistance elements are known from DE-PS 949 578, in which separate insulating bodies are pressed in as the position-fixing means within the respective insulating strip between the latter and the adjacent deflection points of the current paths.
- These bodies can be single heat-resistant fixed elongated spacers, e.g. be made of ceramic, which protrude beyond the ends of the deflection points within the insulating strip and have projections overlapping the deflection points on their longitudinal sides.
- These relatively complex spacers must be inserted between adjacent deflection points from their ends before the insulating strip and then the retaining strip are applied, which means a considerable amount of assembly work and involves the risk that the insulating strips and / or the spacers are damaged when the retaining strips are applied will.
- a simpler and safer assembly of such trimmed resistance elements can be achieved by applying small amounts of a self-curing, heat-resistant insulating material to individual inner locations of the insulating strips, the amounts being distributed when the insulating strips are pushed onto the deflection points between them and around their ends and in the hardened state within the Insulating strips an insulating spacer Layer. It has been found, however, that this expensive and complex measure cannot be used in operation, since the hardened layer crumbles out due to thermal expansion and shocks and the adjacent current paths, in particular in the transition area to the deflection points, when touched by resistance devices equipped with such resistance elements, touch and corresponding Cause short circuits, which lead to the destruction of the entire resistance element.
- the invention has for its object to achieve a permanent position fixation of the trimmed deflection points in resistance elements of the type mentioned with relatively low positional stability of the individual current paths, as they are inevitable with stamped sheet metal elements or thin-walled cast elements.
- the resistance element 1 shown in FIG. 1 is equipped with insulating strips 7 and holding strips 8 on both edges, but for the sake of simplicity only such edge trimming is shown.
- the only partially shown keeled current paths 3 lie between the element ends 2 provided with edge recesses 2A for element mounting, so that the dash-dot lines of current from one element end 2 through the current paths 3 to the other element end 2 result from the connection point 2B.
- the individual adjacent current paths 3 are conductively connected to one another by flat deflection points 4 lying in one plane.
- the one-piece resistance elements 1 can be punched out of sheet metal and provided with or without gills serving for air swirling.
- the flat deflection points 4 lie with their ends in a line with the edges of the element ends 2 and are covered on each edge side by a flexible, curable insulating strip 7 with a U-shaped cross section, which in turn is covered by a clamping U-shaped retaining strip 8 Sheet is covered, with each insulating strip protruding above its holding strip to avoid short circuits.
- the ends of holding and insulating strips can be set back against the element ends 2 (as shown) or can also protrude over them with the same front edges.
- At least one integrally formed lateral rigid projection is provided on the respective edge regions and the deflection points on at least one side surface.
- two or three projections 5 (front side) and 6 (rear side) and at the deflection points 4 are only on the element ends on both side surfaces a projection (5, 6) alternately arranged on the front and the back.
- the embossed or cast-on projections can also be arranged lying on both sides in an axis.
- the form-fitting, non-destructive anchoring of the projections 5, 6 with the inside of the insulating strips 7 is achieved in that when the clamping retaining strips 8 are pressed around, corresponding recesses 9, 10 according to FIG. 4 form on the inside in the area of the associated rigid and not sharp-edged projections absorb the parts of the resilient insulating strips 7 which are displaced by the projections 5, 6 and, without damaging them, ensure an isolating, perfect, positive connection between the resistance element 1, insulating strips 7 and clamping retaining strips 8.
- the insulating strips 7 are fitted with the holding strips 8 still open and inserted into a pressing tool which, with its metallic stamp, presses the holding strips at the edge and end regions against the element ends and the deflection points, and in doing so the projections and depressions over the Insulating strips are positively engaged without the insulating strips being damaged.
- the insulating strips 7 harden in a stable position.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1 ein randbesäumtes gestanztes Blechwiderstandselement in Seitenansicht,
- Fig. 4 den besäumten Rand in Fig. 2 in vergrößerter Darstellung.
