Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a ski boot with rear boot comprising a rigid shell intended to surround the foot, the heel and the lower front part of the ankle, and a rod consisting of a front part in the shape of a gutter. open at the rear, integral with said shell, and with a rear part, in the form of a gutter, articulated on the shoe so as to be able to pivot around an axis transverse to the shoe and fitting into said anterior part to form a cuff intended to surround the ankle, and means for fixing said cuff in the closed position.
  • the main object of the present invention is to obtain as good an adaptation as possible of the rear articulated part of the cuff to the leg.
  • the ski boot according to the invention is characterized in that the articulation of the rear part of the upper on the boot is such that it also allows at least a limited translational movement in all directions of this rear part parallel to the vertical median plane of the shoe in the closed position of the fastening means.
  • the pivot axis does not occupy a fixed position, neither on the articulated rear part, nor relative to the hull.
  • This freedom of movement allows the posterior part of the upper to adapt to the shape of the ankle and the calf and to rest almost uniformly on the leg.
  • this mode of articulation allows total clearance of the rear part of the shoe, that is to say an authentic fitting from the rear.
  • the rear part of the rod can be articulated either laterally on the front part by a flexible connection, or by its lower end by means guaranteeing at least two degrees of freedom, such as a link with an axial play or an articulation around two pivots with sufficient play in all directions.
  • the shoe shown in Figures 1 to 6 is a shoe of the monocoque type, the shell of semi-rigid synthetic material, for example polyurethane, consists of a lower part 1 surrounding the foot and the heel and comprising the sole and d 'a rising part 2 constituting the front part of the upper of the shoe.
  • This part 2 is in the form of a gutter open at the rear and on this is articulated a part 3, of the same material as the shell 1, also in the form of a gutter, intended to come to fit in the front part 2 for form a kind of cuff intended to surround the ankle and the lower part of the leg.
  • the rear part 3 is articulated at the front part 2 by means of two lateral tabs 4 and 5 freely passing through two vertical slots 6 and 7 formed in an extra thickness 8 of part 2 (fig. 5).
  • the fixing of the part 3 in the closed position is ensured by a strap 9.
  • This strap 9 passes through a vertical slot 10 similar to the slots 6 and 7 and situated between them. It is retained on part 2 by a stop 11. It passes through a passer-by 12, approximately in the middle of the posterior part 3 and it is provided at its other end with a loop 13 cooperating with a tensioning lever 14 articulated on the part 2.
  • the latter is fixed by a hole on a stud 15 made of metal riveted on the part 3.
  • the strap 9 has several holes 16 making it possible to adjust the relative position of strap 9 of part 3.
  • the shoe also has an inner boot, not shown in FIGS. 1, 4 and 5, but visible in FIGS. 2 and 3, a boot which has a fixed part 17 surrounding the foot and the ankle like the parts 1 and 2 of the shell and a rear part 18 folding backwards.
  • This liner is made of compressible material and includes a waterproof outer shell.
  • part 3 In the closed position, as shown in Figures 2, 3 and 4, the rear part 3 of the upper fits into the front part 2 and rests on part 18 of the liner.
  • part 3 can move slightly almost in any direction, that is to say also around an axis parallel to the direction of the foot, due to the flexibility of the legs 4 and 5, to come adapt to the shape of the leg.
  • the flaps 4 and 5 slide in the slots 6 and 7.
  • part 3 When the skier straightens the leg or bends it slightly back relative to the sole of the foot, part 3 tends to rotate clockwise in Figure 3. To limit this movement, which would tend to compress the Achilles tendon by leverage, there is a stop 19 on part 3, a stop which abuts against the edge of the fixed front part 2.
  • the fastening strap could be replaced by any other known arrangement such as the buckles commonly used on ski boots.
  • the articulation tabs 4 and 5 are provided with a stop similar to the stop 11 of the strap.
  • FIG. 7 to 9 A second embodiment is shown in Figures 7 to 9.
  • the shoe again consists of a shell 17 coming from one piece with a front part 18 of the rod in the form of a gutter.
  • the floating rear part 19 is here articulated at the heel of the shell 17 by means of a link 20 with two arms whose upper axis 21 is articulated in a lumen 22 at the lower part of the part 19.
  • the closure of the cuff formed of parts 18 and 19 is also provided by a strap 23 coming in one piece with the front part 18 of the shell.
  • This strap is provided with a loop 24 cooperating with a tensioning lever 25 similar to the lever 14.
  • an inner liner 26 split from top to bottom so as to have a rear portion 27 on which s 'presses the cover 19 and can be folded back when the cover 19 is open.
  • the cover 19 has a depression 28 of rectangular section in the bottom of which the strap 23 is supported by a convex part 29 which facilitates the rotation of the cover 19 in the plane of the drawing, as indicated by the arrow F1, pressing on the convex part 29, movement authorized by the link 20, the light 22 also allowing movement in translation from top to bottom or vice versa, so that the cover 19 can take it from itself - even the position best suited to the leg.
  • the articulation by the link 20 also makes it possible to completely fold the cover 19 back, thus allowing true fitting from the rear.
  • a third embodiment is shown in Figures 10 to 13.
  • the shell consists of the same parts 17 and 18 as in the previous embodiment.
  • This shoe is provided with a rear cover 30 which differs from the cover 19 of the previous embodiment only in its mode of articulation to the shell 17.
  • This articulation is here constituted by two lateral tabs 31 extending the cover downwards. each side of the heel.
  • the bent end of these legs 31 is engaged in a housing 32 formed between the shell 17 and a flange 33 secured to the shell.
  • These ends have a light 34 crossed by an axis 35, the dimensions of the light 34 being such that the articulation has a play in all directions in a plane perpendicular to the axis 35 as this is clearly visible in FIG. 12.
  • the cover 30 further comprises, on each side, a stop 36 abutting on the edges of the front part 18 to limit the tilting of the cover 30 towards the rear.
  • These stops 36 are constituted by a removable stud which can be fixed in another hole 37 so as to have a possibility of adjusting the stops.
  • the cover and its fixing device are identical to those of the second embodiment, the same parts being designated by the same references.
  • the shoe further comprises an inner liner in two parts 26, 27 similar to the previous embodiment. To open the boot, the cover 30 is folded back around the axes 35, as shown in FIG. 13. The play of the articulation around the axes 35, as represented in FIG. 13, leaves sufficient freedom. to the cover 30 to adapt as best as possible, naturally, to the shape of the leg.
  • the shell is again made of the same parts 17 and 18 as in the previous embodiments.
  • the floating cover 38 constituting the rear part of the cuff, is hinged here to the front part 18 directly by means of the strap 23 which passes through a passer-by 39 on the back of the cover 38.
  • This cover may or may not be provided with a stop preventing it from sliding freely along the strap 23.
  • the shell 17 houses a comfort liner 40 open at the rear over its entire height and closed by a tongue 41 made of injected elastic flexible synthetic material, for example polyurethane, this tongue 41 having a bent lower part and fixed by a screw 42 to a wedge 43 occupying the bottom of the shoe or directly to the shell.
  • the screw 42 is covered by a comfort sole 44.
  • the tongue 41 Immediately above the part of the shell 17 surrounding the heel, the tongue 41 has a bellows 45 giving this part the flexibility necessary for its adaptation to the leg and for its folding back (fig. 15) for putting on the shoes. .
  • the cover 38 comes to bear on the tongue 41 to apply it against the leg.
  • the strap 23 crosses the passage 39 of the cover with a horizontal and vertical clearance which allows the cover to move slightly both in translation and in rotation.
  • the cover 38 can be moved completely to one side and the tongue fully folded down, completely freeing the inlet of the boot 40, that is to say truly authorizing a boot from the rear.
  • All the embodiments described could include a front part of the cuff 2, respectively 18 articulated on the shell in the region of the malleoli.
