Definitions

  • the invention relates to a tarpaulin for covering components according to the preamble of the main claim.
  • foils are e.g. B. unrolled from a roll and must be cut to the appropriate size for the component to be covered. Then at least two workers are required to attach the appropriate piece of film, one of whom must stick the film with an adhesive strip and the other must arrange it in the appropriate position. When working outside on very large areas to be covered and in unfavorable weather conditions, even more workers may be required.
  • plastic films with a fully rubberized back are also available from specialist dealers, with the adhesive layer being provided with a cover which is only weakly adhered and which is removed before the adhesive is attached (CH-A-454 424).
  • This type of film can also not be reused as a whole or as sections.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide a tarpaulin, which can be used in particular in the construction industry for plastering, painting and the like for windows, doors and other components, for interior or exterior work as a protective film which is simple in construction, inexpensive to produce, with only can be assembled by a worker and is partially reusable, and also adheres very well to the attached component.
  • the tarpaulin of the invention therefore preferably consists of a plastic film with an adhesive layer applied on the inside in a grid and a perforation which at least breaks through the plastic film at regular intervals.
  • Conventional films on the market can be used as the plastic film. These foils are impregnated on the side that will later carry the rubber coating. This pretreatment is carried out so that the rubber and film stick together well afterwards.
  • the other side of the film is also given a chemical pretreatment or an anti-adhesive coating, so that the film provided with the rubber coating, after it has been produced in large lengths and rolled up, can be easily pulled off the roll again. The rubber coating separates easily from the film underneath.
  • the rubber coating applied to the inside of the film can also be provided with a thin, easily detachable cover strip on its second adhesive surface, which prevents the rubber coating from sticking to the film outside underneath.
  • This cover strip can be easily removed before installation.
  • the adhesive layer is applied to the film in a predetermined grid.
  • This grid is variable in every measure of determination and depends, for example, on what dimensions are specified by standardized windows or doors or the like. For example, the grid units can even vary on one and the same film web.
  • the adhesive is applied in a predetermined grid in a manner known per se.
  • the adhesive layer itself can be designed as a continuous adhesive web, or it can be composed of a multiplicity of adhesive strips arranged next to one another at equal intervals and in the same width to form a web.
  • the adhesive itself is characterized by a strong adhesive force compared to metal, wood, plastic and glass.
  • the perforation which breaks through the film at regular intervals, can be punched in both before the adhesive coating with the adhesive and afterwards in a manner known per se.
  • the perforation of the finished tarpaulin runs exactly in the middle of the adhesive applied in the grid.
  • the perforation openings themselves are negligibly small, so that almost no contaminants can penetrate from the outside onto the component to be covered.
  • the tarpaulin protrudes from the component on one side, it can easily be cut off at the last perforation line that does not yet protrude and a new web section can be attached to the component so that it is completely covered up to the end edge and on the opposite side the cover strip last glued overlaps with the previously applied film web.
  • each of said section parts has a uniformly wide adhesive strip around its entire outer circumference, with which it can be securely attached in any position and in any place.
  • the tarpaulin according to the invention has the further advantage that after using the film for large components, at least the film cutouts that do not have to perform an adhesive function can be used again. For this purpose, for example, only the edge strips need to be separated, and the remaining sections can be rolled up in the case of a chemically treated or provided with an anti-adhesive layer on the outside of the film and stored for reuse.
  • FIG. 1 shows the tarpaulin 1 according to the invention with the adhesive layer 3 applied in a grid and the perforation 5 indicated by dashed lines and running centrally to the adhesive layer 5.
  • the adhesive layer 7 running on the circumference is only half as wide as the adhesive layers leading away into the interior of the film, since there is no longer a section to be separated from it and it is therefore no longer halved. From the lower part of this figure it can be seen that the adhesive layer and perforation can be arranged at different distances and thus limit sections or strips of different sizes.
  • Fig. 2 an enlarged partial section of the tarpaulin according to the invention is shown in section.
  • the tarpaulin 1, which preferably consists of a plastic film 9, is provided on its inside 11 with the adhesive layer 3.
  • the adhesive layer 3 and the inside 11 are chemically matched to one another so that they form a very good adhesive bond.
  • the outside of the film in the event that the outside of the film is not chemically pretreated and the film is to be rolled up, it is indicated to provide the second adhesive surface of the rubber coating with a cover strip 13.
  • the outside 15 of the film 9 can also be chemically pretreated or provided with an anti-adhesive layer, so that the flange can be rolled up and an intermediate cover 13 is therefore unnecessary for unwinding the film web.
  • This figure also shows the perforation which is centered on the adhesive layer 3 and is punched into the film 9 and the adhesive layer 3. After separating the upper part of the tarpaulin from the lower in the perforation plane, an adhesive layer of the same width remains on each of the separated parts.
  • a window 17 is shown, the frame 19 and window panes 21 are protected by several different sized parts of a tarpaulin.
  • the individual part 23, shown in solid lines, is glued to the upper left corner of the window flush with the edge of the window frame.
  • the dashed item 25 is glued to the upper right corner of the window. This individual part already overlaps the individual part 23.
  • the individual parts 27, 27 'drawn in dash-dotted lines and, for example, of the same size can now be glued in the known manner into the lower left corner of the window and the lower right corner of the window. These two parts in turn overlap the individual parts 23 and 25 in a certain area.
  • the individual part 29 is now glued flush with the lower edge of the lower window frame part and otherwise all the other individual parts overlap over the area still free.
  • This embodiment is only intended to illustrate that even components with non-standard or unusual dimensions can be protected in a simple manner with the tarpaulin according to the invention. Usually, this process is considerably simplified by covering tarpaulin sections which are adapted to the standardized dimensions of windows and doors and the like.
