Sie sorgen dafür, daß die aus dem Spalt zwischen der in Förderrichtung vorneliegenden Walze und der zugehörigen Mulde austretenden Wäschestücke glatt auf die dahinter angeordnete Brücke überführt und dann ebenso glatt und stoßfrei in den Spalt zwischen der in Förderrichtung hintenliegenden Walze und zugehörigen Mulde eingeleitet werden. Diese bekannten, im allgemeinen Gebrauch befindlichen Mangelbänder haben jedoch den entscheidenden Nachteil, daß sie verhältnismäßig leicht reißen. Angesichts der Vielzahl verwendeter Mangelbänder kommt es daher in relativ kurzen Abständen zu einem Stillstand der gesamten Maschine ; es muß dann das jeweils gebrochene Mangelband neu eingefädelt und verknotet werden. Ein weiterer Nachteil der bekannten Mangelbänder besteht darin, daß sie sich auf den Wäschestücken abdrücken.In the case of all multi-well ironers currently in use, a large number of parallel, endless belts are wrapped around the rollers and bridges. Bei dieser ist statt der Vielzahl paralleler, endloser Bänder ein sich über die gesamte Mangelbreite erstreckendes Endlostuch vorgesehen, das von verschiedenartigen Geradlaufeinrichtungen (von Hand in der Neigung verstellbare Spannrolle entsprechend Figur 1, seitliche Zwangsführung der Tuchränder nach den Figuren 3 bis 6, gewölbte Führungsrollen nach Figur 7) in der Betriebslage gehalten wird. Mit diesen Geradlaufeinrichtungen können jedoch die sehr großen, zeitlich stark variierenden Auslenkkräfte, wie sie bei derzeit in Gebrauch befindlichen, bis zu 4 m breiten Mehrmuldenmangeln auftreten, nicht beherrscht werden, da sie entweder überhaupt nicht oder zu langsam den sich zeitlich verändernden Betriebszuständen der Mehrmuldenmangel angepaßt werden können. Die DE-C 101 932 zeigt bei einer nicht gattungsgemäßen Plättmaschine, daß das erwähnte Problem des Geradlaufes flächiger Führungstücher schon vor dem Beginn dieses Jahrhunderts bekannt war und Lösungsmöglichkeiten vorgeschlagen wurden. Gleichwohl haben weder Führungstücher noch Geradlaufeinrichtungen bis zum Anmeldetag der vorliegenden Erfindung Eingang in die Praxis bei Hochleistungs-Mehrmuldenmangeln gefunden. 4. Cylinder ironing arrangement according to Claim 3, characterised in that the stripping member (13) directs a pressing air stream against the pieces of laundry leaving the last trough (3).
5. Cylinder ironing arrangement according to Claim 4, characterised in that a device, for example a photoelectric cell, is provided, which monitors the emergence of the front edge of a piece of laundry from the last trough (3) and activates the stripping member (13) in response thereto.
6. Cylinder ironing arrangement according to one of the preceding claims, characterised by a suction device (11) acting on the space surrounded by the cloth (7).
7. Cylinder ironing arrangement according to the one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cloth (7) is a polyester fabric.
8. Cylinder ironing arrangement according to Claim 1, characterised in that the endless cloth (7) is connected on its end faces by a zip fastener.
9. Cylinder ironing arrangement according to Claim 8, characterised in that the zip fastener is covered on the side facing the troughs (2, 3) by an overlying cloth.
10. Cylinder ironing arrangement with at least two heated troughs, in each of which a cylinder is inserted, with at least one bridge arranged between two troughs and guiding the pieces of laundry over it, with an endless cloth which extends essentially over the entire width of the cylinders, the troughs and the bridge (s) and which is wound in an endless manner around the cylinders and over the bridge (s) and guides the articles of laundry from trough to trough over the intermediate bridge and with a straight-running device, which ensures a permanent position of the lateral edges of the endless cloth, characterised in that the straight-running device comprises :
a) at least one photo-electric cell arranged on one side edge of the cloth (7),
b) a pair of rollers, by which at least one region of the cloth (7) is guided and whereof the axes in the neutral position are at right angles to the direction of movement of the cloth (7),
c) a device which is controlled by the photo- electric cell and in response thereto moves the axis of at least one roller of the pair of rollers parallel to the plane of the cloth (7) so that it encloses an acute or obtuse angle with the direction of movement of the cloth (7).
