Definitions
- the invention relates to a floor drain with an open-topped housing, from which laterally an approximately horizontal outlet connection branches, an insert which is removably arranged in the housing and is sealed by means of a sealing ring and which has an immersion wall which, together with an overflow wall upstream of the outlet connection, forms an odor trap, and with an insert which can be inserted into an upper receptacle of the housing and forms the support for a cover grate.
- a floor drain is known, for example, from DE-OS 21 61 227.
- the approximately horizontal drain connector is arranged at the upper end of the drain housing, so that the part of the housing underneath forms the upstream wall upstream of the drain connector, which together with the inserted baffle plate forms the odor trap forms.
- This floor drain has the disadvantage that the drain housing is always full of water even when the insert is removed. Firstly, this makes cleaning the drain more difficult and, secondly, it makes it impossible to use the drain without an odor trap. A different model must therefore be selected for a floor drain without odor trap. In addition, in the known floor drain for the expansion of the insert, the attachment piece that forms the support for the cover grate must be removed beforehand.
- the invention has for its object to provide a floor drain in which processes with and without odor trap and with and with a single unitary base housing can be put together without an attachment, and which can be cleaned without problems.
- a floor drain is created which can be used both with and without the insert supporting the hold-up wall, i.e. can be used with and without an odor trap, and in which the bottom of the housing merges into the drain socket without a step so that the water can drain out of the housing completely, which facilitates cleaning of the housing.

- the housing can be made completely smooth, which in turn facilitates cleaning and also the manufacture of the housing.
- the insert is advantageously sealed by a rolling ring which is rolled between the cylindrical outer wall of the insert and the inner wall of the housing or the top piece.
- the insert is advantageously supported on the bottom of the housing. This avoids the need for attachment surfaces or holding grooves for use, which simplifies the manufacture of the housing.
- At least one web can be provided on or near the bottom of the housing for lateral support of the insert.
- two support webs can each be provided on the sides of the housing.
- the upper edge of the drain housing is designed so that it can either receive the attachment or directly the cover grate. This also reduces the variety of models.
- the floor drain shown in Fig. 1 to 3 consists of a housing 2, with the vertical side walls 3 and the housing base 4. In alignment with the housing base 4, a horizontally projecting drain connector 6 is arranged on the side of the housing.
- a collar 8 is formed which, together with the receiving shoulder 18, forms a receptacle for an attachment piece 10.
- the attachment piece 10 which is supported by the receiving shoulder 18, has an attachment collar 12 on its upper edge, which receives a grating 14.
- the attachment piece 10 is sealed against the drain housing 2 by a rolling ring 16 rolled between the outer wall of the attachment 10 and the inner wall of the collar 8.

- an odor trap forming insert 20 are inserted.
- the insert 20 forms a pot for receiving the water reservoir 35 of the odor trap.
- This pot consists of the side walls 22, the bottom 24 and the overflow wall 26.
- the odor trap is completed by the immersion wall 28, which merges into the essentially horizontal drainage surface 30 on its upper side.
- the drainage surface 30 merges into the side walls at its edge 22 of the insert 20.
- a rolling ring 32 is rolled between the cylindrical outer wall 22 of the insert 20 and the inner wall 3 of the housing 2 to seal the insert 20 against the housing 2.
- the insert 20 can be sealed against the attachment 10 by rolling in a rolling ring 32 between the outer surface of the insert and the inner surface of the attachment.
- the drain housing 2 has two guide stops 36, which are arranged in the vicinity of the bottom 4 of the housing on the side wall 3 opposite one another in such a way that they are inserted of the insert 20 lie next to the hold-up wall 26 and thus support the insert 20 against lateral displacement.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a floor drain with an open-topped housing, from which laterally an approximately horizontal outlet connection branches, an insert which is removably arranged in the housing and is sealed by means of a sealing ring and which has an immersion wall which, together with an overflow wall upstream of the outlet connection, forms an odor trap, and with an insert which can be inserted into an upper receptacle of the housing and forms the support for a cover grate. Such one Floor drain is known, for example, from DE-OS 21 61 227. In this floor drain, the approximately horizontal drain connector is arranged at the upper end of the drain housing, so that the part of the housing underneath forms the upstream wall upstream of the drain connector, which together with the inserted baffle plate forms the odor trap forms.
This floor drain has the disadvantage that the drain housing is always full of water even when the insert is removed.
The invention has for its object to provide a floor drain in which processes with and without odor trap and with and with a single unitary base housing can be put together without an attachment, and which can be cleaned without problems.
This object is achieved in that the overflow wall and a bottom are formed on the insert for the formation of a pot which holds the water reservoir of the odor trap, and in that the clear width of the attachment piece is larger than the horizontal outer dimensions of the insert.
With this solution according to the invention, a floor drain is created which can be used both with and without the insert supporting the hold-up wall, i.e. can be used with and without an odor trap, and in which the bottom of the housing merges into the drain socket without a step so that the water can drain out of the housing completely, which facilitates cleaning of the housing. Furthermore, the insert can be removed from the housing without the attachment having to be removed. This also makes cleaning the floor drain much easier. In addition, the housing can be made completely smooth, which in turn facilitates cleaning and also the manufacture of the housing.
With the use according to the invention, processes with and without an odor trap and with and without an attachment piece can be put together with a single basic housing, whereby the variety of models is considerably reduced.
The insert is advantageously sealed by a rolling ring which is rolled between the cylindrical outer wall of the insert and the inner wall of the housing or the top piece.
The insert is advantageously supported on the bottom of the housing. This avoids the need for attachment surfaces or holding grooves for use, which simplifies the manufacture of the housing.
To stabilize the position of the insert in the housing, at least one web can be provided on or near the bottom of the housing for lateral support of the insert. Advantageously, two support webs can each be provided on the sides of the housing.
The upper edge of the drain housing is designed so that it can either receive the attachment or directly the cover grate. This also reduces the variety of models.
