Definitions
- the invention relates to a stretchable, double-layer sleeve link band, in particular watch strap, in which the sleeve links of the upper layer are connected to the sleeve links of the lower layer offset by half the link width by U-brackets which are inserted from the open end faces and with leaf springs inserted in the sleeve members interact, which hold the connecting bracket by a bend at its ends.
- Such stretchable link tapes are widely used because they have many advantages over fastener tapes. They are easy to put on and take off, and because of their elasticity and flexibility they do not constrict on the wrist. In addition, with various such band constructions (e.g. DE-B-1 557 630), a length adjustment to the wearer's wrist can be carried out without difficulty. In addition, these tapes are relatively cheap because they can be made largely automatically.
- a major disadvantage with the numerous known embodiments of stretchable link belts is the relatively large overall height. This is particularly noticeable on the tapes, in which the brackets engage with the leaf springs by means of beads or transverse grooves (DE-C-896 575, FR-A-1 554 048). These bent latching noses require a relatively large amount of space, so that the scope required for stretching the band is restricted.
- the straps should have a large stretching length, the height of the sleeve members is quite large in order to increase the angle by which the legs of the connecting bracket can be pivoted. Since the band consists of two layers of such sleeve members, this height is double in the band.
- Embodiments are known in which, in order to save height, the legs of the connecting brackets and the leaf springs are smooth, and the U-brackets are secured against falling out by bent tabs formed on the sleeve member (DE-A-1 900 290). Although the overall thickness of the band is smaller, the length adjustment in this embodiment is cumbersome, since the tabs on the sleeve members have to be bent open in order to insert or remove band members. There is a risk that the tabs break off, at least the tape is damaged at the point in question after shortening.
- the bend in the leaf spring is designed in a manner known per se as a shaft directed towards the inside of the sleeve members, into which a corresponding shaft engages in the U-bracket, and in that the inner sides of the sleeve members each have an additional one of of the band hem side recessed cutout through which the shaft of the leaf spring can emerge when the sleeve link band is stretched.
- the cutout extends across the entire link width.
- the bracelet according to the invention has a lower height than all other flat link bands of this type known on the market, without impairing its great elasticity and flexibility.
- the neckline can also be narrower, i.e. H. do not extend across the entire link width. Then the leaf spring lying in the sleeve member is shaped accordingly, so that it can emerge with its shaft through the cutout when the link belt is stretched. However, the narrow places in the leaf spring reduce their spring force. The cutting of both the leaf spring and the sleeve members is somewhat more complicated than in the preferred embodiment mentioned above.
- the U-brackets are held in a manner known per se by the leaf springs.
- the change in length can be carried out easily and without difficulty, as usual, by pulling out and reinserting the U-bracket. There are no rags to hold the U-bracket or other safety measures. You get a super flat bracelet that can be used with advantage on extremely flat watches.
- the stretchable sleeve link belt consists of two layers of sleeve links 1 and 2, which are arranged one above the other and offset by half the link width.
- the sleeve links 1 of the upper layer are connected to the sleeve links 2 of the lower layer by U-brackets 3 which are inserted from the open end faces are.
- leaf springs 4 are inserted, which cooperate with the U-connecting brackets 3 when the link belt is stretched and when it is pulled back into the rest position.
- Decorative shells 5 can be placed on the sleeve members 1 of the upper layer.
- the leaf springs 4 inserted in the sleeve members 1 and 2 have at their ends bends 6, 6 'which are designed in a manner known per se as shafts directed towards the inside of the sleeve members 1 and 2, respectively.
- the legs 3 'or 3 "of the U-bracket 3 have corresponding shafts 7, 7' into which the shafts 6, 6 'of the leaf springs 4 engage and hold the U-bracket 3 securely. Since the back of the U-bracket 3 exposed, a change in length can be easily carried out by pulling the U-brackets 3 out of the sleeve members 1 or 2 with an appropriate tool and pushing them back into the sleeve members 1 or 2 after changing the length.
- the narrow ends of the leaf springs 4 which are pulled down for inserting the U-clips 3 emerge through these cutouts 8, 8 'when the link belt is stretched.
- the sleeve members 1 and 2 are provided according to the invention with additional cutouts 10, 10 ', which in the exemplary embodiment shown extend over the entire width of the inner side of the sleeve member. If the link belt is stretched, the shafts 7, 7 'of the leaf springs 4 emerge through these then exposed cutouts 10, 10'.
- the spring travel is not limited early as in the case of the previously known sleeve members with closed inner sides. As a result, the overall height of the sleeve members 1 and 2 can be kept significantly lower compared to known band constructions.
