The acceleration forces required to move the cartridge in such a short time are so great that even a strong spring is no longer sufficient.
- the invention solves the problem of creating a device which works for feeding the cartridge to the slot, from which it can be inserted into the weapon barrel through the breech, without the spring force mentioned.
- This device has the advantage that the cartridge is forced into the slot by the insertion lever when the breech is retracted and is reliably in the correct position as soon as the cartridge is inserted into the weapon barrel through the edge of the breech.
- a two-armed insertion lever is described in US Pat. No. 2,875,671, but the cartridge is supported on its one arm with its front end.
- a control cam serves to actuate this one arm.
- the other arm is loaded exclusively by a spring.
- the insertion lever cannot prevent the cartridge from sliding off the side.
- the control cam is not arranged on the breech, but is connected to the retractable weapon barrel.
- US-A-2 529 822 also describes an insertion lever which has two arms, one arm of which deflects the cartridge and the other arm is pivoted by the control curve of the closure.
- CH-A-253 497 a cartridge feeding device is described in which the control surface of the closure is a control curve which allows the movements to be mutually dependent. However, there is no special insertion lever.
- FR-A-1 066 513 describes a cartridge feed device in which there is an inevitable movement of the feed means with the closure while avoiding a spring.
- US Pat. No. 2,486,878 also describes a cartridge feeder device which has a pivotable insertion lever which, however, is only loaded by a spring, so that when a cartridge is inserted into the weapon barrel through the breech there is a risk that the spring is too weak and the cartridge slides off the cap.
- the feed means preferably have a rear pawl which backs the cartridge as soon as it is inserted into the slot by the insertion lever.

- Two cartridge feed channels 12 and 13 are pivotably attached to the weapon housing 10 about pins 14.
- the cartridge feed channel 12 is pivoted out, so that no cartridges of the weapon can be fed from this channel 12.
- the cartridge feed channel 13, on the other hand, is in the working position, so that the cartridges can be inserted into the gun barrel 11 from this channel 13.
- the pivoted-out position of the cartridge feed channel 13 is indicated by dash-dotted lines.
- a switching device (not shown) ensures that one or the other cartridge feed channel (12, 13) is always in the working position while the other is swung out.
- a lock 15 is slidably mounted in the weapon housing 10. This closure 15 is shown in Fig. 1 in its rearmost position and in Fig. 2 in its forwardmost position.
- the closure 15 has a closure head 16 and a control piece 17 as well as two bolts 18.
- the control piece 17 is arranged displaceably in the closure head 16. In the foremost position of the breech 15, the control piece 17 protrudes between the two bolts 18 and presses the bolts 18 into recesses 19 in the weapon barrel 11, so that the bolt head 16 is locked in the weapon barrel 11. In the rearmost position of the lock 15, the control piece 17 is behind the bolts 18 and thus the lock head 16 is unlocked.
- the displacement of the closure 15 is carried out in the usual way by a not shown spring and the gas pressure.
- the cartridge belts are also conveyed in the cartridge feed channels 12 and 13 in the usual way. Neither is therefore described in more detail here.
- each insertion lever 20 and 21 is mounted on each cartridge feed channel 12 and 13 so as to be pivotable about an axis 26 and one rear pawl 27 about an axis 28.
- the two-armed insertion lever 20, 21 is supported according to FIG. 1 with its arm 30 on a control edge 29 of the closure head 26. With the other arm 31 of the insertion lever 21, the cartridge 23 is pressed into the slot 35 (FIG. 4).
- the insertion lever 21 is supported with its arm 30 on the highest point of the control curve 29 of the closure head 16.
- the cartridge 23 is so far by the arm 31 of the insertion lever 21 against the weapon axis 32, d. H.
