Definitions
- the invention relates to a packaging for tablets, cubes or bars, in particular made of chocolate-containing material, provided with a lower part of the package and an upper part connected to it by at least one heat seal seam, which parts together enclose the table, the cubes or the bar on all sides.
- the two pack parts are overlapped and laterally sealed on top of one another in such a way that unsightly fin-like sealing seams are formed.
- the packaging according to the invention differs from that initially described in that the upper part of the pack has at least one lip which is folded back around the board, the cubes or the bar and is heat-sealed on the lower part of the pack.
- heat sealing means any process that works with heat and pressure and in which a plastic material is brought into an adhesive state.
- the packing parts preferably contains a substance that can be heated by high-frequency induction close to the heat-seal seam.
- the packaging material can be an aluminum laminate with an external plastic layer or heat-seal coating, while any packaging material with a hot melt adhesive containing metal powder can also be used in a barrel print.
- the lower part of the pack preferably has a thermal conductivity value ⁇ of at most 0.1 kcal / mhoC at least in the area between the high-frequency induction heatable material and the table, the cubes or the bar.
- temperature-sensitive materials such as chocolate
- the lower part of the pack contains cardboard or cardboard with a weight per unit area of at least 200 g / m2.
- the additional advantage of pressure equalization is achieved with the heat seal.
- the upper and lower parts of the pack can advantageously be in one piece when it comes to the packaging of pressure and shock sensitive products. that both parts have the desired maximum thermal conductivity value and will therefore necessarily have a certain stiffness. However, if, e.g. because of vapor tightness, printing or other requirements, it is desirable to use packaging material which has a fairly high thermal conductivity value, the invention offers a possibility of using a base or insert of a sufficiently low thermal conductivity value.
- a chocolate bar 1 is shown, which rests on a base 2 made of cardboard and is surrounded by a composite film 3.
- This composite film 3 is e.g. made of aluminum foil, which is provided with a heat-sealable plastic coating on the inside and printed with any image on the outside.
- the upper part of the package formed by the composite film 3 has lips 4 on the lower edges, which fold back around the panel 1 are and rest against the underside of the bottom of the package formed by the cardboard base 2.
- the lips 4 are heat-sealed on the cardboard base 2 by generating an electromagnetic high-frequency alternating field with a suitably dimensioned inductor 5 and thereby heating the aluminum and thus the plastic coating.
- the packaging is clamped between the inductor 5 and two terminal strips 6, which are spring-supported by compression springs 7 in the machine frame 8.
- the cardboard base with a basis weight of 200 g / qm with a thermal conductivity value A of 0.1 kcal / m.h. ° C prevents the heat generated from increasing the temperature of the chocolate bar in such a way that it melts or is deformed under the clamping pressure. If a thin cardboard base with a basis weight of 180 g / sqm is used, a discoloration of the chocolate is found.
- Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through a finished chocolate packaging according to the invention in a slightly modified embodiment and in Fig. 3 is a cross section along the line III-III in Fig. 2 is shown.
- the packaging shown in these figures differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that only the lips 4 of the upper part 3 of the package are provided with a hot melt adhesive layer 9 on the inside in a facade print. In this case, all four edges of the upper part of the pack are provided with lips 4 and glued to the underside of the cardboard base 2 by means of these lips.
- FIGS. 4 and 5 show, in sections similar to FIGS. 2 and 3, another embodiment of the packaging according to the invention.
- These figures show a one-piece packaging: the upper and lower parts of the packaging are combined in a blank made of plastic-coated cardboard.
- the rectangular bottom 10 forms the base for the chocolate bar 1 and is connected to the top wall 12 at one of the longitudinal edges by the intermediate side wall 11.
- the top wall 12 is provided on the three remaining edges with side walls 13, each of which carries a lip 14 on its longitudinal edge.
- the bottom 10 is printed on the underside along the three free edges in facade printing with strips of hot-melt adhesive containing aluminum powder, so that the packaging can be heat-sealed in a manner similar to that described with reference to FIG. 1.
- This packaging shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 is very suitable for shock and pressure sensitive chocolate products.
- FIGS. 6 and 7 The embodiment shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 is similar to that of FIGS. 4 and 5 in that a single blank of basically the same shape is also used, but not made of cardboard but made of a flexible composite material.
- the composite material contains at least one aluminum layer and a heat-sealable coating on the inside.
- the composite material blank is formed similar to that according to FIGS. 4 and 5 and comprises a bottom wall 15 which is connected to an upper wall 17 at one of the longitudinal edges by an intermediate side wall 16. This top wall 17 is provided on the three remaining edges with a lip 18 each carrying side walls 19.
- a cardboard base 21 Between the bottom wall 15 and the chocolate bars 20 to be packed there is a cardboard base 21, which serves both to support these bars and to protect the chocolate against excessively high temperatures during the heat sealing of the lips 18 on the bottom wall 15.
- FIGS. 6 and 7 show that the lips 18 are attached by means of a locally applied hot melt adhesive 22.
- the cardboard pad 21 can, but need not, be glued to the bottom wall 15.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1 schematisch einen Querschnitt durch eine Heisssiegelvorrichtung und eine herzustellende Verpackung;
- Fig. 2 und 3 einen Längs- bzw. Querschnitt durch eine fertige Verpackung in einer Ausführungsform;
