Definitions

  • the invention relates to an excavator consisting of a support frame, each with a pair of support arms on opposite sides thereof, on which wheels and / or footrests are arranged, and a superstructure rotatable about an approximately vertical axis relative to the support frame, on which a digging, cutting - or machining tool-carrying boom attacks, wherein at least one height-adjustable wheel is arranged on the superstructure, and at least one of the wheels arranged on the superstructure and on the support arms is designed to be driven.
  • Excavators of this type are very mobile and can therefore be used in the most difficult terrain, because to move the excavator, the front end of the support frame is raised during operation by supporting the digging tool against the ground, the excavator by moving the Tool carrying boom moved back and forth or steered by turning the superstructure and then lowered back onto the footrests, so that the excavator moves gradually by repeating these operations.
  • To adapt the excavator to uneven terrain it is known to pivot each support arm independently and independently of the others in a vertical plane. However, only a so-called walking movement is possible here.
  • an excavator is known (WO-A-7 900 651), in which a pair of support arms are arranged on opposite sides on each support frame, on which wheels and footrests are held.
  • a superstructure which can be rotated about an approximately vertical axis relative to the supporting frame and on which a boom carrying digging, cutting or processing tools acts is arranged on the supporting frame.
  • a height-adjustable wheel is arranged on the superstructure, and at least one of the wheels is also driven.
  • the present invention has therefore set itself the task of improving the maneuverability of the excavator regardless of the distance of the support arms by a significantly larger steering angle in an excavator of the type mentioned above, which can perform both a pure walking movement and a pure driving movement .
  • the height-adjustable wheel on a rotatable superstructure adjustable support part is held pivotable about an axis lying in a vertical plane and approximately vertically aligned in the driving position, that the wheel is mounted in an approximately U- or L-shaped support arm and this support arm is pivotally connected to the support member, and that the pivot axis between the support arm and support member in the operating position of the wheel and the axis of rotation of the Hades are arranged at a distance from each other seen in the horizontal direction.
  • the support arms with their holding claws come into contact with the surface again and the support of the excavator for work is prepared again.
  • the support arms therefore do not have to be swiveled to the side or upwards or anywhere in order to carry out a short drive of the excavator to a new working position, since a strong steering lock is possible in a confined space.
  • the bearing of the wheel in an approximately U-shaped or L-shaped support arm results in a structurally simple but effective solution for achieving a large steering angle even without additional twisting of the superstructure.
  • the excavator consists of a support frame 1, a pair of support arms 2 and 3 being arranged on opposite sides of the support frame 1. Wheels 4 and footrests 5 are arranged on these support arms.
  • the superstructure 6 of the excavator can be rotated with respect to the supporting frame 1 about an approximately vertical axis 7.
  • a boom 8 acts on this superstructure 6, only part of this boom 8 being shown. Digging, cutting or machining tools are then arranged at the free end of this boom 8, the movement of the boom and these tools being effected by hydraulic cylinders.
  • a height-adjustable wheel 9 is arranged on the superstructure 6.
  • One or both wheels 4 can be equipped with a hydraulic drive in order to achieve a driving movement.
  • the wheel 9 is therefore provided on the side of the superstructure 6 opposite the bearing 8.
  • a supporting part 20 is connected to the superstructure 6 so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis 21, wherein this supporting part 20 can be pivoted downwards into a driving position or upwards into a rest position by hydraulic cylinders 12.
  • the wheel 9 is held in an approximately U-shaped support arm 23, the support arm 23 being pivotable about the axis 22 relative to the support part 20.
  • This axis 22 lies in an approximately vertical plane and is oriented approximately vertically in the driving position (FIG. 1), the angle of the axis 22 to the vertical depending on the adjustment angle of the support part 20 correspondingly deviating from the vertical. It only has to be achieved that the wheel 9 receives a steering lock by rotating the support arm 23 about the axis 22.
  • the wheels 4 and 9 can be dimensioned differently or also have the same size (diameter, width).
  • the pivot axis 22 between the support arm 23 and the support part 20 seen in the operating position of the wheel 9 is arranged at a horizontal distance from the axis of rotation 24 of the wheel 9.
  • a hydraulic cylinder 25 is provided which engages both on the support arm 23 and on the support part 20.
  • This hydraulic cylinder 25 engages on one leg of the U-shaped support arm 23, so that the support arm 23 is pivoted about the axis 22 when the piston of the hydraulic cylinder is pushed out or retracted.
  • the support part 20 is shown in the drawing as a closed plate, but here different design variants can be selected. A pure frame construction is also possible. If appropriate, it would also be possible with a corresponding structural design to provide only one hydraulic cylinder 12 instead of the two hydraulic cylinders 12 for pivoting the support part 20.
  • the structural design of the support arm can also be carried out in various ways. So it would also be conceivable to provide only a type of L-shaped design for the support arm 23, so that the wheel 9 can then be attached to one leg of this support arm 23 in a floating manner.
  • the excavator When digging or doing other work, the excavator is in a position where the boom is lies between the two support arms 2, that is to say in a position pivoted by 180 ° with respect to the illustration in FIGS. 1 and 2. If a longer distance is now to be covered with the excavator, it can be switched over to driving operation in a simple manner, namely by initially rotating the superstructure 6 about the vertical axis 7 by approximately 180 °, so that the supporting frame 1 and thus remain in the same position the support arms 2 and 3 of the boom 8 now point in the other direction, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. Now the wheel 9 with the support member 20 can be pivoted downwards by the hydraulic cylinders 12, so that the wheel 9 is supported on the drivable floor. The support arms 2 and thus the footrests 5 are raised solely by correspondingly depressing the wheel 9. Of course, it is also possible to additionally raise the footrests 5 by actuating the hydraulic cylinders 15.
  • steering can be carried out additionally or separately from the steering movement by rotating the superstructure, so that curves with a relatively small radius can also be traveled in a simple manner.
  • the superstructure can remain aligned in the longitudinal direction of the excavator, especially in narrow passages, so that in such cases the wheel alone can be pivoted relative to the height-adjustable support part.
  • a pivotable support part 20 there are of course also other possibilities for arranging the wheel 9 so that it can be adjusted in height.
  • a configuration according to the invention can also be used in excavators, in which, for example, footrests and wheels are alternately used on the support arms 3. These wheels are then lowered according to a driving movement and the footrests are raised. At least three wheels are then required for a real driving movement.
  • the configuration according to the invention is thus designed in a structurally simple manner so that it functions as a walking excavator at work so that it can be continuously and quickly converted into a mobile excavator with great maneuverability when needed.
