Die Ersatzrolle 10 wird nach Anschwenken der Antriebswalze 15 durch diese über die Hauptwelle 16 auf Bahngeschwindigkeit beschleunigt. Durch Betätigen des Differentialgetriebes 17 wird die Ersatzrolle 10 so lange gegenüber dem Schneidnutenzylinder 11 verdreht, bis die richtige Phasenlage erreicht ist, die von der Tasteinrichtung 19 gemeldet wird. Gleichzeitig wird der Schlitten 25 und mit diesem der Schneidnutenzylinder 11 auf die Ersatzrolle 10 zu bewegt und zur Ausführung der Stoßklebung senkt sich der Klebezylinder 13 in die aus Fig. 2 ersichtliche Position ab, in der er den Schneidnutenzylinder 11 und den Klebezylinder 14 etwa berührt. Bei genügender Annährung des Schneidnutenzylinders 11 an die Ersatzrolle 10 klebt beim Vorbeigang die Klebestelle 20 am Schneidnutenzylinder 11 im Abstand von der Schneidnut 11.1 fest und der Bahnanfang wird von diesem mitgenommen. Der in Exzentern gelagerte Messerzylinder 12 wird durch Verdrehen der Exzenter in Schnittposition gebracht und trennt die Bahn beim nächsten Durchlauf des Trennmessers ab.
