Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cash drawer for cash registers, comprising a box-shaped housing, a drawer slidably guided therein, which closes the front side of the housing in the inserted state, a latch arrangement for locking the drawer in the inserted state and an opening device for releasing the latch arrangement and for automatic operation Slide out the drawer.
  • a drawer which is displaceably guided in a housing is known, in which the rear part thereof is made accessible in that a part of the cover surface of the housing covering the drawer is arranged so as to be retractable and displaceable.
  • the housing opening is surrounded by a fixed frame, which also includes a rigid strip in the area of the top surface, so that even when the drawer is completely pulled out and the sliding cover is pushed back, free access to the drawer is hampered by the fact that the housing strip extends across the Drawer stretches.
  • Another disadvantage of this drawer is that no opening device is provided for releasing a locking arrangement and for automatically pushing out the drawer.
  • a drawer for index cards which is displaceably guided in a cabinet or table as a housing is known, which in the open state is freely accessible, but in which when the drawer arrangement is opened, a movable cover part is first folded up and only then at an angle is pushed underneath under a fixed cover part, with the folded-up cover part at least temporarily hindering access to devices that may be on the housing, for example to the keypad of a cash register.
  • no opening device for releasing a bolt arrangement and automatically pushing out the drawer is provided in this drawer, so that the drawer has to be pulled out of the housing by hand, making it difficult to operate.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a cash drawer of the type mentioned, which ensures free access to the drawer and simple operation even if the relevant regulations are met and in the open state the access to any devices standing on the housing is not hindered .
  • a part of the housing cover surface which is directly adjacent to the open housing side is designed as a sliding cover which is displaceably guided parallel to the direction of movement of the drawer and is coupled to it in such a way that its opening and closing movement at the same time but in opposite directions to the movement of the Drawer is done.
  • the sliding cover When the drawer is extended, the sliding cover is simultaneously moved backwards, releasing the part of the drawer remaining in the housing or at least the largest section thereof for access.
  • the sliding lid does not in any way hinder access to the cash register on the housing of the container.
  • the sliding lid When the drawer is pushed in, the sliding lid is automatically pushed forward again because of the coupling of movement, so that only one hand is required to close the container.
  • the sliding cover is expediently insertable under the fixed part of the housing cover surface, so that objects such as the cash register can be placed on this fixed part of the housing cover surface without the displacement of the sliding cover being hindered thereby.
  • the sliding cover is expediently guided in rails formed on the housing side walls.
  • the rails or slots are preferably designed so that the sliding cover forms a plane with the fixed part of the housing cover surface in the closed state, but dips under the fixed part of the housing cover surface in the pushed-back state. With such a forced guidance of the sliding cover, no springs are required which press the cover into its closed position.
  • the positive guidance of the sliding lid ensures a secure closure of the container.
  • the sliding cover can be coupled to the drawer, for example, via a flexible tension member which is guided by rollers mounted on the side walls of the housing and is fastened to both the drawer and the sliding cover.
  • a move link can be formed, for example, by a toothed belt, a rope or a chain.
  • a tensile and thrust-transmitting element can be formed, for example, by a steel band which is suitably guided on the rear housing wall.
  • the forced coupling between the sliding cover and the drawer to perform an opposite movement can also be done in a very simple manner by a lever mechanism, which includes, for example, a lever pivotably mounted on the side wall of the housing, both with the sliding cover and the drawer via a pin-slot guide connected is.
  • a lever mechanism which includes, for example, a lever pivotably mounted on the side wall of the housing, both with the sliding cover and the drawer via a pin-slot guide connected is.
  • the latter version is particularly simple and reliable at least when no very large displacement movement is intended.
  • the drawer is guided on the housing on both sides and on its underside by means of at least one telescopic rail.
  • the two lateral telescopic rails prevent the drawer from tilting about a horizontal axis running transversely to the direction of movement, while the telescopic rail on the underside of the drawer prevents the drawer from tilting about a vertical axis running transversely to the direction of movement.
  • FIG. 1 shows a cash drawer, generally designated 10, on which there is a cash register 12 with a keypad 14 and a visual display 16, indicated only by dash-dotted lines.
  • the cash drawer 10 comprises a cuboid housing 18 with a bottom 20, side walls 22, a rear wall 24 and a top surface 26.
  • the front of the housing 18 is open.
  • the front section of the top surface 26 is formed by a sliding cover 28 which is guided on the side walls 22 such that it between a closed position shown in FIG. 1, in which its upper side is flush with the upper side of the cover surface 26, and an open position, shown in FIG. 1, in which it is inserted under the fixed portion of the cover surface 26.
  • the sliding cover 28 is guided on the side walls 22 with the aid of guide slots 30 which are formed in angle rails 32 (FIG. 3) attached to the inside of the side walls 22. Pins 34 engage in these guide slots 30 and are attached to tabs 36 bent downwards at right angles from the sliding cover 28.
  • the guide slots 30 have an S-shaped curvature in the region of the front edge of the fixed portion of the top surface 26, so that the sliding cover 28 is forced upwards during the transition from its open position according to FIG. 2 to the closed position according to FIG. 1.
  • the sliding cover 28 does not extend all the way to the side walls 22. Rather, two side strips 38 remain in the front area of the cover surface 26, which cover the angle rails 32 and the slot-pin guide 30, 34 of the sliding cover on the side walls 22. These side strips 38 protrude slightly inwards over the angle rails 32 in order to cover the gap between the sliding cover 28 and the angle rails 32.
  • the sliding cover 28 has on its side edges a step 40 corresponding approximately to the material thickness of the side strips 38, as is shown in FIG. 3.
  • a drawer 42 is slidably mounted in the direction of the double arrow A.
  • the drawer 42 serves to hold notes and hard cash and, for this purpose, has a compartment division (not shown) in the usual way.
  • the drawer 42 is guided on the housing side walls 22 and on the housing base 20 via telescopic rails 44, 46, respectively.
  • these telescopic guides are shown in the present example as simple sliding guides.
  • telescopic rails provided with rollers will generally be used to ensure that the drawer runs more smoothly in its guides.
  • the lateral telescopic guides prevent the drawer 42 from tilting up or down
  • the lower telescopic guide ensures that the drawer 42 cannot tilt to the right or left. This makes it possible to insert the drawer easily into the housing 18 with certainty even if the drawer is only gripped on one side.
  • the drawer 42 also closes its front plate 46 the front of the housing 18th
  • the drawer 42 is usually locked in the pushed-in state and can only be opened upon a special signal from the cash register 12.
  • This locking device is known per se and is therefore indicated only schematically by a pawl 50 which is pivotably pivoted about an axis 48 on the rear wall 24 and which can be actuated with the aid of an electromagnet 52 controlled by the cash register 12.
  • an extension spring 54 which is also only indicated schematically, the drawer 42 is then pushed out of the housing 18, the extension distance being allowed to be a maximum of 100 mm according to the latest occupational medicine guidelines.
  • the sliding cover 28 and the drawer 42 are mechanically coupled so that they can perform a simultaneous and opposite movement. If the drawer 42 is pushed out of the housing 18 by the extension spring 54, the sliding cover 28 is simultaneously inserted under the fixed part of the cover surface 26. Becomes . the drawer 42 is pushed back into the housing 18, the sliding cover 28 is also pulled forward into its closed position shown in FIG. 1.
  • the mechanical coupling between sliding cover 28 and drawer 42 takes place on each side by means of a tension member 56 (toothed belt, chain, cable pull) which is guided over four rollers 58 mounted on the side wall 22 and with the sliding cover 28, for example on the front tab 36 and is firmly connected to the drawer 42, for example on its side wall at 60. If the drawer 42 is thus pulled out of the housing 18, the sliding cover 28 is automatically withdrawn. In contrast, when the drawer 42 is pushed into the housing 18, the sliding cover 28 is forcibly pushed forward again.
  • a tension member 56 toothed belt, chain, cable pull
  • an area of the drawer corresponding to the double extension distance of the drawer is exposed through the sliding cover.
  • the sliding lid does not in any way hinder access to the cash register 12.
  • the outer dimensions of the cash drawer therefore do not change in any way due to a displacement of the sliding lid.
  • the displacement distance of the sliding cover 28 does not necessarily have to be the same as the extension distance of the drawer.
  • Such a translation can be achieved, for example, if the coupling between drawer 42 and. Sliding cover 28 performs with the help of a gear.
  • a simple example of such a transmission is indicated schematically in FIG. 4.
  • the movement coupling between drawer 42 and sliding cover 28 takes place via a two-armed lever 62 which is mounted on the side wall 22 about a horizontal axis 64.
  • the two-armed lever 62 has a fork 66 at each of its ends, in which a pin 68 connected to the sliding cover 28 or a pin 70 connected to the drawer 42 engages.
  • the lever 62 is pivoted and in turn moves the sliding cover 28 in the opposite direction.
  • a translation or reduction of the movement can take place.
