Definitions
- the invention relates to liquid dye preparations of water-insoluble or sparingly soluble dyes, a process for their preparation and their use for dyeing or printing textile material.
- Liquid dye preparations of water-insoluble or sparingly soluble dyes are already known in large numbers (see e.g. DE-OS 28 50 482) and are commercially available. They generally consist of water, dye, dispersants, antifreeze and humectants as well as other additives such as e.g. Coupageans, Antimicrobica or antifoam. Polyalcohols such as glycerin, sorbitol, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol are mostly used as antifreeze and humectants.
- the object of the present invention was to develop aqueous preparations of dyes which are insoluble or poorly soluble in water and which have improved redispersibility.
- the preparations according to the invention are still perfectly redispersible even after drying at 60 ° C. When the evaporated amount of water is added again, it is sufficient to stir the slurry for a while to get a to produce a residue-free filterable dispersion. Complicated additional grinding is not necessary.
- the present invention relates to liquid dye preparations containing water, a water-insoluble or sparingly soluble dye, a dispersant, a humectant and, if appropriate, other additives, characterized in that they contain a compound of the formula I as a humectant contain, where R is an optionally substituted by OH, CN, halogen or -N (alkyl C 1 -C 4 ) 2 alkyl group having 1-16 carbon atoms and R 'is hydrogen or the group -CH 2 -CHOH-CH 2 OH .
- the alkyl group R can be straight-chain, branched or cyclic.
- alkyl groups e.g. in question: methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, isopropyl, n-butyl, isobutyl, sec-butyl, tert-butyl, n-pentyl, neopentyl, octyl, dodecyl, tetradecyl, hexadecyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl or cycloheptyl.
- alkyl radicals substituted by OH, CN, halogen such as fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine or also by -N (alkyl C 1 -C 4 ) 2 the following are mentioned: ⁇ -hydroxyethyl, ⁇ -cyanoethyl, mono-, di- or perfluoroethyl, ⁇ , y-dichloropropyl, y-hydroxypropyl, ⁇ - (N, N-diethylamino) ethyl or y- (N, N-dimethylamino) propyl.
- Disperse and vat dyes are particularly suitable as water-insoluble or sparingly soluble dyes. These are dyes of various classes, the disperse dyes being, for example, nitro dyes, amino ketone dyes, ketone imine dyes, methine dyes, nitrodiphenylamine dyes, quinoline dyes, amino naphthoquinone dyes, coumarin dyes and in particular anthraquinone dyes and azo dyes such as monoazo and disazo.
- vat dyes for example, find indigo dyes, anthraquinone dyes, such as Indanthrene, as well as sulfur dyes and leuco vat dye use.
- Dyes should also be understood to mean optical brighteners.
- Anionic and / or nonionic dispersants are preferably used as dispersants.
- Reaction products from higher molecular weight fatty acids and hydroxyalkylamines can be obtained, for example, from higher molecular weight fatty acids, preferably those with about 8 to 20 carbon atoms, e.g. Caprylic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid and in particular the acid mixture summarized under the collective term "coconut oil fatty acid", and hydroxyalkylamines, such as triethanolamine or preferably diethanolamine, and mixtures of these amines, the reaction taking place in such a way that the molecular quantitative ratio between hydroxyalkylamine and fatty acid is greater than 1. e.g. 2: 1.
- higher molecular weight fatty acids preferably those with about 8 to 20 carbon atoms
- Phenol ethers such as p-nonylphenol etherified with 9 moles of ethylene oxide; Ricinoleic acid ester with 15 moles of ethylene oxide and hydroabietyl alcohol etherified with 25 moles of ethylene oxide.
- Fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers particularly those containing 20-100 moles of ethylene oxide, such as stearyl oleyl alcohol etherified with 80 moles of ethylene oxide, and oleyl alcohol etherified with 20 to 80 moles of ethylene oxide, but especially cetyl stearyl alcohol etherified with 20 to 30 moles of ethylene oxide, have proven particularly advantageous.
- alkylene oxide in particular ethylene oxide condensation products, with individual ethylene oxide units passing through substituted epoxides, such as styrene oxide and / or preferably propylene oxide, can be replaced.
- copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide of the formula are particularly preferred j where the sum of a and c is a number between 100 and 400 and b is a number between 30 and 80.
- nonionic dispersants should advantageously be low in electrolytes. Mixtures of such agents are possible.
- anionic dispersants are preferably used in the form of the ammonium or especially alkali salts, such as lithium, potassium or in particular sodium salts.
- further property-improving additives can be added to the dye preparations, e.g. Coupageans such as dextrin or sorbitol, hydrotropic agents such as urea or formamide; Antimicrobica; Fungicides, e.g. aqueous formalin solution; Antifoams and viscosity improvers, e.g. Polysaccharides.
- the new aqueous dye preparations are prepared, for example, by mixing and grinding the dye according to the definition in water with at least one dispersant, which e.g. in a ball mill or sand mill, and the remaining components are added before, during or only after the grinding process.
- electrolyte-sensitive thickeners can also be used for the production of printing pastes.
- thickeners based on polyacrylic have proven to be particularly valuable.
- natural thickeners are also suitable for the production of printing pastes using the preparations according to the invention.
- the new dye preparations are low-viscosity dispersions that are low in dispersants, low in electrolytes, finely dispersed, stable in dispersion, ie non-aggregating and highly concentrated in dye and are well redispersible. They remain with longer storage 25 ° to 30 ° C and stable after several weeks of storage at 60 ° C, ie low viscosity and perfectly filterable and change their viscosity only slightly. The fine distribution of the dyes remains practically unchanged during storage.
- the new preparations can be distributed without specks in textile printing inks with all conventional thickening. If residues of the liquid dye preparations on the edge or lid of the containers, for example drums, dry up, these residues can surprisingly be completely redispersed without larger dye agglomerates remaining.
- the new aqueous dye preparations are used for the production of aqueous or aqueous-organic dyeing liquors or printing inks or those based on a water-in-oil emulsion, and also for the production of printing pastes containing natural or synthetic thickeners.
- the printing pastes or dyeing liquors contain preparations according to the invention with vat dyes, they are used for dyeing or printing cellulose material, in particular cotton.
- the printing inks, printing pastes or dyeing liquors which contain preparations according to the invention with disperse dyes are suitable for dyeing or printing organic material, in particular synthetic textile materials, using a continuous or discontinuous procedure, e.g. those made of cellulose triacetate, synthetic polyamides and especially polyester.
- the dyeings can be obtained by dyeing, padding or printing processes.
- the additives usually used when applying disperse dyes to synthetic material are used.
- the materials can be in a wide variety of processing stages.
- the dye preparations according to the invention which contain transferable dyes, can also be used for printing on sheet-like structures according to the transfer printing principle.
- the new preparations contain optical brighteners, they are used for the optical brightening of textile materials according to e.g. the extraction process, high-temperature extraction process and Foulardtherm process. If appropriate, further suitable dispersants or other auxiliaries can be added to stabilize the liquor and / or to achieve carrier effects.
- Example 1 45.4 g of the dye of the formula with 2 g of a block polymer of 20% propylene oxide and 80% ethylene oxide (MW about 16,500), 0.1 g of a lignin sulfonate, 18.5 g of water and 10 g of the humectant of the formula ground in a mill with 180 g glass beads with a diameter of 1 mm for 24 hours until the particle size of the particles is approx. 1 ⁇ m. Then 3 g of the block polymer, 10 g of the humectant, 10 g of water and 0.7 g of formalin are added and the fine dispersion obtained is separated from the beads.
- This preparation is particularly suitable for transfer printing and results here e.g. strong prints on polyester fabric.
- Redispersibility test 1 g of the dispersion obtained above is weighed out in a 250 ml beaker with a bottom diameter of 6.5 cm and the dispersion is distributed on the glass bottom. The beaker is left open in the laboratory for 72 hours at 24-27 ° and 40-50% relative humidity. Then 100 ml of water are poured into a beaker, stirred for 3 minutes with a magnetic rod and the resulting dispersion is filtered through a Schleicher-Schull filter paper SS 597 under vacuum. The filter time of the dispersion is 5-8 seconds and there is no residue on the filter paper. The redispersibility of the product is therefore good.
- Example 2 If the procedure described in Example 1 is followed, but the humectant used there is replaced by the same amount of propylene glycol and the redispersibility test listed in Example 1 is carried out, the formulation can no longer be redispersed after drying. The resulting dispersion is unfilterable.
- Example 2 45.4 g of the dye listed in Example 1 are mixed with 19.5 g of water, 20 g of the humectant mentioned in Example 1, 3 g of block polymers according to Example 1 and 1.25 g of Na-hexylsulfosuccinate (80% - alcoholic solution) finely ground as described in Example 1 (particle size approx. 1 pm). After adding 10 g of water, the dispersion is separated from the beads. The redispersibility test (according to Example 1) is carried out with 1 g of this dispersion. After drying, the formulation is perfectly redispersible, i.e. it can be filtered without residue. This preparation is particularly suitable for transfer printing and results here e.g. strong prints on polyester fabric.
- Example 2 If the procedure described in Example 2 is followed, but the humectant used there is replaced by the same amount of propylene glycol and the redispersibility test listed in Example 1 is carried out, the formulation can no longer be redispersed after drying. The resulting dispersion is unfilterable.
- Example 3 43.3 g of the dye of the formula are mixed with 21 g of water, 20 g of the humectant from Example 1, 3.5 g of a block polymer of 20% propylene oxide and 80% ethylene oxide (MW approx. 16,500) and 1.25 g of Na-dihexylsulfosuccinate (80% alcoholic solution) finely ground in a pearl mill for 24 hours. After adding 10 g of water and 0.7 g of formalin, the dispersion is separated from the beads. Abstract
Description

- Anlagerungsprodukte von z.B. 5 bis 500Mol Alkylenoxiden, insbesondere Ethylenoxid, wobei einzelne Ethylenoxideinheiten durch substituierte Epoxide, wie Styroloxid und/oder Propylenoxid, ersetzt sein können, an höhere Fettsäuren oder an gesättigte oder ungesättigte Alkohole, Mercaptane oder Amine mit 8 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen oder an Alkylphenole oder Alkylthiophenole, deren Alkylreste mindestens 7 Kohlenstoffatome aufweisen;

Derartige Verbindungen sind in der amerikanischen Patentschrift Nr. 2.089.212 beschrieben;
- a) Ligninsulfonate, z.B. solche, die nach dem Sulfit- oder Kraft-Verfahren gewonnen werden. Vorzugsweise handelt es sich um Produkte, die z.T. hydrolysiert, oxidiert oder desulfoniert und nach bekannten Verfahren fraktioniert wurden, z.B. nach dem Molekulargewicht oder nach dem Sulfonierungsgrad. Auch Mischungen aus Sulfit- und Kraftligninsulfonaten sind gut wirksam. Besonders geeignet sind Ligninsulfonate mit einem durchschnittlichen Molekulargewicht zwischen 1000 und 80.000, einem Gehalt an aktivem Ligninsulfonat von mindestens 80% und vorzugsweise mit niedrigem Gehalt an mehrwertigen Kationen. Der Sulfonierungsgrad kann in weiten Grenzen variieren. Das Verhältnis von Kohlenstoff zu organisch gebundenem Schwefel liegt beispielsweise zwischen 9:1 und 55:1;
- b) Kondensationsprodukte von aromatischen Sulfonsäuren mit Formaldehyd, wie Kondensationsprodukte aus Formaldehyd und Naphthalinsulfonsäuren oder aus Formaldehyd, Naphthalinsulfonsäure und Benzolsulfonsäure oder ein Kondensationsprodukt aus Rohkresol, Formaldehyd und Naphthalinsulfonsäure;
- c) Dialkylsulfosuccinate, deren Alkylgruppen je 3-8 Kohlenstoffatome aufweisen, wie z.B. Di-propylsulfosuccinat, Di-iso-butylsulfosuccinat, Di-heptylsulfosuccinat, vorzugsweise jedoch Di-hexylsulfosuccinat und Di-amylsulfosuccinat;
