Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for spraying a liquid from a container according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such spray devices can be operated both in the normal position and in the head overlay. Your preferred area of application is cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.
  • the pump housing is provided below the suction valve with a nozzle onto which a three-way valve is attached, which has two gravity-operated auxiliary valves.
  • the closure piece of the auxiliary valve arranged in the secondary duct is located in an auxiliary valve chamber, which has an upper bore in the normal position and an adjoining pipe running next to the pump housing with the inlet opening of the secondary duct and a lower bore surrounded by a valve seat with the common one Output of the three-way valve is connected.
  • the closing piece of the auxiliary valve rests on the valve seat and blocks the secondary duct due to its own weight and the suction pressure exerted by the piston pump.
  • the closure piece In the head overlay, the closure piece at least partially blocks the upper bore.
  • the closure piece is exposed to the pump suction pressure or the flow pressure of the aspirated liquid. If the closure piece is too light, it is taken along until it hits the valve seat, so that the secondary duct is blocked. If this is counteracted by a correspondingly large weight of the closure piece, there is a risk that it will not adequately clear the bore facing the inlet pipe.
  • the manufacture of a functional spray device therefore requires careful adjustment.
  • the cross section of the auxiliary valve chamber must be sufficiently larger than the cross section of the closure piece. On the one hand, this leads to a higher material expenditure and, on the other hand, to larger cross-sectional dimensions of the entire spray device, which makes it difficult to carry out the spray device through the container opening during assembly.
  • a device for spraying a liquid from an aerosol can is known, the housing of which can be used in a liquid-tight manner in a container opening and the delivery space of which is via a main valve with an outlet channel partially penetrating the main valve stem and via an immersion tube with the one in the normal position lower part of the container space is connected.
  • a secondary duct leads from an upper part of the container space in the normal position to the opening of the main valve.
  • a gravity-operated auxiliary valve is provided in the secondary duct, which shuts off the secondary duct in the normal position of the container.
  • a slot released in the head overlay due to the gravity actuation of the auxiliary valve is provided as the inlet opening of the secondary channel leading to the main valve opening.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying a device of the generic type which allows the entire container liquid to be sprayed as far as possible even in the head overlay with little outlay in terms of material, production and assembly.
  • the secondary duct is completely cleared through the inlet opening provided in the wall of the auxiliary valve chamber in the head overlay of the container.
  • the position of the closure piece determined by gravity, is not influenced by the flow, since the liquid flows freely above the closure piece. There is no need to pay attention to an exact adjustment of the weight of the closure piece. Since the closure piece does not have to be flowed around, the dimensions of the auxiliary valve chamber can also be chosen freely and relatively small. Furthermore, the pressure drop in the secondary duct during the suction stroke of the piston pump in the head overlay of the container is very low.
  • the manufacture is also very simple, because for the assembly of at least the auxiliary valve, only its closure piece needs to be thrown into the pump housing and the insert closing the auxiliary valve chamber from the delivery chamber can be easily inserted into the pump housing.
  • closure pieces can be inserted in a simple manner into the respective valve chamber and secured therein by the insert without the connection between the pumping chamber and the suction valve space is interrupted.
  • a second auxiliary valve is omitted, which further simplifies the cost of materials and assembly.
  • the development according to claim 6 facilitates the assembly of the auxiliary valve closure piece. It is always inserted in the correct position in the auxiliary valve chamber without the risk that it will be introduced into the room for which the suction valve is intended.
  • a spray head 1 consists of a spray head 1, a piston pump 2, a hood 3 with internal thread for screwing onto a screw opening of a liquid container, not shown, a special housing 4 with an auxiliary valve 5 and a suction pipe 6 reaching to the bottom of the container (also called dip tube).
  • the piston pump 2 has a piston 7 with a piston shaft 8, a pump housing 9 forming the cylinder for the piston 7 with a lower connecting piece 10, a suction valve 11 formed in the connecting piece 10 and a spring 12 between the piston 7 and the bottom of the delivery chamber 13 the piston pump 2. Except for the spring 12, all pump parts are made of thermoplastic material.
  • the piston shaft 8 has an axial bore 14, which continues as a bore 15 in the spray head 1.
  • a radial bore 16 extends from this bore 15 into the open. The diameter of the bore 16 is so small that the liquid escaping from the delivery chamber 13 when the spray head 1 and thus the piston 7 are depressed is sprayed through the outlet channel formed by the bores 14 and 16.
  • the piston shaft 8 is guided in an upper opening 17 of the hood 3 and is seated firmly in a bore 18 of the spray head 1.
  • the suction valve 11 consists of a valve closure piece 19 in the form of a ball and a conical valve seat 20.
  • the suction valve chamber 21 is connected to the delivery chamber 13 of the piston pump 2 through an opening 22.
  • Resiliently flexible, radial projections 23 permit the closure piece 19 to be pushed through the opening 22 during assembly and the flow of the liquid sucked in by the piston 7, but prevent the closure piece 19 from exiting the suction valve chamber 21 on its own.
  • the connecting piece 10 sits sealed in an insertion area 25, the space remaining below the connecting piece 10 on the one hand via a suction opening 24 coaxially penetrating the valve seat 20 with the suction valve space 21 and on the other hand via an opening 26, a connecting piece 27 on the underside of the special housing 4 and that the intake pipe 6 received by the connecting piece 27 is connected to the lower part of the container space in the normal position of the liquid container.
  • Suction pipe 6, connecting piece 27 and opening 26 form a main channel leading to suction opening 24.
  • the auxiliary valve 5 has a closure piece 29 in the form of a ball and a conical valve seat 29 which interacts with it.
  • the closure piece 28 is located in an auxiliary valve chamber 30 formed in the special housing 4, which has an upper opening with a projection 31 and an axial slot 32 penetrating the outer wall of the auxiliary valve chamber 30.
  • An opening 33 passes through the valve seat 29 and, together with the slot 32 and the auxiliary valve chamber 30, forms an auxiliary duct leading to the suction opening 24, which opens into the main duct in the region of the opening 26.
  • a radially inwardly projecting rib 34 in the connecting piece 27 prevents the suction pipe 6 from being inserted into the connecting piece 27 during assembly and against the lower edge of the opening 33 and interrupting the connection to or from the auxiliary valve space 30. If liquid is to be sprayed in the normal position of the container, ie when it is held upright with the spray head 1 upwards, the spray head and thus the piston 7 are first pressed downward against the force of the spring 12. Here, the closure piece 19 is pressed against the valve seat 20, so that the suction valve 11 is closed and the air contained in the delivery chamber 13 is displaced into the open via the outlet channel 14, 15, 16.
  • FIG. 2 does not differ in its upper part from that according to FIG. 1. This part is therefore not shown in FIG. 2.
  • the only difference from FIG. 1 is that the connecting piece 10 is not mounted coaxially, but eccentrically on the pump housing 9, eccentrically by an amount such that the special housing 4 lies within the circumferential contour of the pump housing 9. Because of its smaller diameter, this spray device is therefore suitable for liquid containers with a smaller inner diameter or smaller neck opening.
  • the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs from that according to FIG. 2 in that the pump housing 9a integrally comprises the auxiliary valve 5 and the secondary duct and has an insert 9b delimiting the delivery chamber 13 for sealing the auxiliary valve chamber 30. In this way, a projection 31 in the insertion opening 37 of the auxiliary valve chamber 30 can be omitted.
  • the diameter of the closure piece 28 is larger than the smallest width or the inner diameter of the insertion area 25, into which the connecting piece 10 is inserted. The closure piece 28 can therefore simply be thrown into the pump housing 9a during assembly. Nevertheless, it always falls into the auxiliary valve space 30.
  • the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4 differs from that according to FIG. 3 only in that the insert 9c has no connecting piece 10 and the suction valve 11 is formed in a space 25a of the pump housing 9a.
  • the closure piece 19a and the suction valve seat 20a are therefore larger, and the suction opening 24a is formed in the same housing part as the opening 33.
  • the closure piece is inserted unhindered through the opening 38.
  • Both closure pieces 19a and 28 are of the same size, so that no distinction is required in the assembly and storage of the ball. Overall, the manufacture is easier.
  • all parts of the spray head and the housing are made of thermoplastic material.
  • the valve closure balls are preferably made of metal.
  • the suction pipe 6 can also be pushed outside over the connecting piece 27.
  • a check valve can be provided in the channels 14 and 15, which closes during the suction stroke of the piston 7.
