Definitions
- the invention relates to a hull made of plank-like profiles which are fastened to one another and to transverse frames with the interposition of a water seal.
- the invention further relates to a device for producing this hull.
- the main construction methods of wooden hulls are the clinker, karweel and seam frame construction methods. All of these designs required a wooden frame made of transverse frames on which the planking was applied and fastened. Sealing is carried out by caulking with tow, the contact pressure required for the sealing only arising when the wood swells when water is absorbed. In recent times special adhesives have been used.
- form-glued plywood was used in the intermediate stage, which is processed on a positive block shape, corresponding to the shape of the hull.
- the additional stiffness was achieved by adding longitudinal and transverse frames later and in the last stage of development was perfected by forming a sandwich material with two plywood molds and a foam in between.
- This design is only suitable for small dimensions of the profiles and boats, since the profiles cannot be swung in and connected to them in the pre-bent state, so that a subsequent bending to the frames is necessary, which is only possible with small profiles without flange reinforcement as a longitudinal frame.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of transferring the advantages of the first-mentioned timber construction to the modern materials. Especially in the case of sports boats with a length of over 10 m, today's numbers are still of a magnitude that rarely cover the amortization of the expensive negative hull shape. Therefore, the fuselage bodies are relatively expensive and changes, e.g. to improve the hydrodynamic properties, through knowledge of the prototype can only be carried out by building a new, expensive form.
- a fuselage shell is not required with this construction. Again, it is assumed that a frame made of transverse frames on which the planking is laid is brought.
- the individual profiles forming the planking are pre-bent (saber-shaped) according to the desired hull shape and, starting from the lid, applied in the direction of the keel and individually connected to each other to form the frames.
- the profiles are shaped in such a way that they have great flexural rigidity with small thicknesses due to the ribbing and thus make a significant contribution to reducing weight. Furthermore, it is provided in the profiles that the possibility of a simple seal is given by suitable measures, such as grooving.
- the hull consists of a series of profiles 1 arranged side by side, which are bent to form the spatially curved ship's outer skin around both axes of inertia and then joined together, the connection consisting of an inserted seal in a screw connection, so that the individual profiles 1 can be detached from each other at any time and replaced in the event of a repair.
- the bend is not only about the long axis of inertia, but also about the short axis X, which is called saber.
- the profiles 1 For connection and increase the rigidity of the profiles 1 U -, L or formed C-shaped, with straight or slightly curved web, said legs are 2 of the screw or rivet connection of the adjacent profiles, while the bent ends 3 of the legs 2 serve for connection to the also U-shaped ribs 17 (FIG. 5).
- the hull is expediently carried out in two halves, which are then connected to the keel 18 and the stern part 19 (FIG. 8), which can also be a profile. This connection can be made by welding, gluing, screwing or riveting.
- the profiles 1 are preferably produced as extruded aluminum profiles in seawater-resistant aluminum-magnesium alloy, but can also be designed as extruded, glass fiber-reinforced plastic profiles.
- the shape of the profiles 1 can, as can be seen from FIGS. 3-7, be different, the seal being loosened differently.
- FIG. 3 shows an embodiment in which the P ro- fil 1 only on one side of a leg 2 with the bent leg ends 3 has, while the other side has a fork-shaped end 5, in which a rib 4 of the neighboring profile end is inserted, so that there is a tongue and groove connection.
- a rib 6 forms an inwardly widened, that is, undercut, dovetail-shaped groove 7, into which the fork-shaped ends 8 of the adjacent profile are inserted.
- the fork-shaped ends 8 have inclined surfaces 9 which spread the fork ends when hammered or pressed into the grooves 7 and thereby produce a positive and watertight clamping connection.
- an elastic sealing cord 10 and an adhesive layer 11 can be accommodated, which, if permanently elastic , can also absorb displacements as a result of work on the hull without becoming leaky.
- 6 can also be carried out by means of a double seal which, in addition to the sealing cord 10, also contains a permanently elastic seal 12 which is visible from the outside and which sits in a dovetail-shaped groove which is open to the outside but widens inwards.
- both abutting profile ends have a leg 2 or 13, wherein a screw groove 15 is provided for receiving a connecting bolt 14 in the leg 2 of one profile, which passes through the leg 13 of the neighboring bar p rofiles.
- the screw 14 can be designed as a self-tapping screw and the groove 15 can have grooves or ribs in their side walls for interlocking with the screw thread of the screw 14. 7 has the leg? one profile 1 has a pointed support rib 16 for the leg 13 of the neighboring profile.
- the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments shown.
- the rib 4 can also have grooves on its outer surface for better anchoring of the permanently elastic sealing putty or adhesive. All known rubber or plastic-based seals can be used as the material for sealing cords and putties, and silicone compounds are also not excluded.
- each profile must be bent in several ways. According to FIG. 9 there is a bend mainly about the axis B and each profile is twisted in itself over its entire length (torsion C). All profiles must also be bent around the essential X axis. This results from the fact that the hull has different bulges at different cross-sections. This also results in different lengths of length along the frames for planking with the profiles, which must be bridged.
- the profiles always have the same width over their entire length, the aforementioned bend around the axis X is necessary, which is referred to as saber, as mentioned at the beginning.
- the individual pre-bent profiles then have an appearance according to FIG. 1, the profiles being shown there in a top view of FIG. 2.
- the profiles 1 provided according to the invention are relatively easy to bend about the axis B and also slightly twisted according to C, so that no pre-bending is required for these bends. These bends are obtained when the individual profiles are mounted on the frames 17 and when the individual profiles are screwed together. However, it is not possible to bend the profiles around the X axis, i.e. the saber. According to the present invention, the saber is carried out in a prepared process.
- the saber curve for each profile can easily be drawn from profile sections or e.g. can be calculated from the design drawings of the yacht using appropriate computer programs.
- the profiles must be stretched in the longitudinal direction with such a strong tension that the material of the profiles, in particular aluminum alloy, begins to flow and that the profile is then bent by suitable shaping elements.
- a carriage is preferably used for this purpose, which carries stamps over its entire width corresponding to the length of the profiles to be bent, which stamps can be adjusted according to the shape. If you drive this car against the profile, bend the stamp the profile into the appropriate shape.
- Such a device is shown purely schematically in FIG. 10.
- the profile 1 is clamped at both ends in a pulling device 21 and is stretched close to the yield point.
- the carriage 23 which can be moved in the direction of the arrow 22 carries the punches 24 which are arranged in such a way that their front tips lie on a line 25 which corresponds to the desired bending shape or saber for the profile 1.
- the punches 24 carry leaf springs 26 at the front ends, which ensures that the compressive force is not applied to the profile 1 in a punctiform manner but rather in a planar manner. If the carriage 23 is driven with the punches against the profile 1 during the stretching process, the profile 1 assumes a bend according to line 25 without the profile being subjected to an undesirable warping during the bending process and without the embossed shape following the stretching process changed again.
- the lower profile drawn in this figure is shown in full, whereas the upper profile has broken off.
- the entire length of the profile 1 has a throat 27 into which a head 28 of the adjacent profile can engage.
- a web 29 is provided, which consists of a first bow-shaped part 30 and a second angular part 31.
- the arcuate part 30 has a radius R with a center that lies in the head 28.
- Elongated holes 32 are provided at certain distances from one another and are used for screwing by means of screws 33 with the next following profile.
- Each profile has an L-shaped strut 34 on the side of the throat 27, the angled lower leg 35 has an elongated hole 36 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the profile 1. In those places where the elongated holes 32 and 36 intersect, screwing by means of the screw 33 is possible.
- the lower surface 37 of the leg 35 also has the radius R and nestles against the arcuate part 30 of the web 29. Since the angle between two profiles can be varied over the length when the boat shape is assembled, the contact surface 37 must allow this change. On the arcuate part 30 there is an uplift due to fine longitudinal grooves into which a pressing edge 38 and / or a coarse toothing engages in a plastically deforming manner by means of the contact pressure of the screw connection 33. This mechanically secures twisting after screwing.
- the angled web 31 serves to fasten the profiles to the boat frames and forms the longitudinal frame required for strength reasons in the boat hull.
- Web 31 and frame 17 can have cylindrically cambered surfaces which, by means of correspondingly shaped intermediate profile pieces, permit spatial adaptation to each other in any spatial angular position.
- the profile shown in FIG. 11 has the advantage that the profiles can be adapted to the different frame curvatures for a certain angular range.
- the engagement in the throat 27 enables assembly even with a saber-shaped, ie curved line of engagement.
- the part 29-31 forming the longitudinal bulkhead is located in the pressure zone which is secured in shape by the punches 24 or guides 25 during sabering.
- the opposite part 34-37 in the tension zone exposed during bending is considerably smaller, so that deformations in the cross-sectional plane are avoided.
- the intermediate space 40 formed between the adjacent profiles is provided for receiving a sealing compound which, when applied in particular to the throat g7, allows the seal to begin directly on the water-wetted outer surface and thereby avoids the risk of crevice corrosion.
- the possibility of screwing gives the hull the necessary and required strength.
- the particularly simple device shown in FIGS. 12 and 13 for sabering the profiles 1 is arranged in a pit and consists of a bending template 44 which is pressed against the profile 1 by hydraulic cylinders 45 or spindle drives, the profile 1 being supported by a Cable device 42 with deflection rollers 46 and weights 43 is biased with about 20 tons.
- the profile is supported against a yoke 48 via movable supports 47.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1 die Anordnung der Profile in Seitenansicht
- Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt zu Fig. 1
- Fig. 4 einen Schnitt einer anderen Ausführung
- Fig. 7 eine alternative Ausführungsform dazu,
- Fig. 8 eine Gesamtanordnung im Schiffskörper
