Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method and a device for maintaining smooth movement of ink metering elements in ink fountains of printing machines according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Ink fountains for printing machines are generally known. From DE-OS 28 14 889, an ink fountain is known which contains an ink fountain roller that comes into contact with printing ink and a large number arranged laterally next to one another, in the longitudinal direction of the peripheral surface of the ink roller, in direct contact with one another and held in the bottom of the ink fountain, held ink metering elements, which are positively connected to a pivoting lever, a controllable mechanism being provided in order to be able to set a gap formed from the individual ink metering elements and the surface of the ink fountain roller.
  • the ink guide surfaces of the ink fountain base and ink metering elements are always at an angle which is slightly above 90 °, which makes cleaning the ink fountain difficult.
  • a base plate of an ink fountain floor scrapes off the ink guide surface of the ink metering element when the ink metering element moves in the direction of “more ink”, experience has shown that it cannot be avoided that ink particles get under the base plate and negatively affect the smoothness of the ink metering element.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a method and a device in close-to-next-order ink metering elements for an ink fountain of a printing press, which make it possible to maintain smoothness of the ink metering elements.
  • the advantages that can be achieved with the invention are, in particular, that permanent smooth operation can be obtained without having to remove the ink metering elements from the ink fountain.
  • the presence of a lubricant between immediately adjacent ink metering elements prevents dirt or paint particles from penetrating far between the ink metering elements. This prevents the ink metering elements from becoming stiff. This is particularly advantageous when using stepper motors as adjusting motors for the pivotable ink metering elements. If the smoothness of the ink metering elements is guaranteed, feedback of the actual value of the position of the ink metering elements can be dispensed with.
  • an ink fountain floor 2 is provided, the inner bottom surface 3 of which is covered with printing ink when the ink fountain 1 is filled with a printing ink.
  • a ceramic-coated ink fountain roller 4 which is driven in a known manner, is immersed in the ink fountain 1. It forms a paint passage gap with a paint metering attachment 5 of a paint metering element 6.
  • the ink fountain base 2 expediently extends as an extension of the base surface 3 beyond the ink metering elements 6 as an end piece 7 with the end surface 8.
  • a longitudinal pit 9 is worked into the ink fountain base 2 from the base surface 3.
  • a left guide surface 12 of the longitudinal pit 9 collides with the base surface 3 at an angle a, which is preferably less than 90 °, but can also be 90 °.
  • An edge created at a collision point between the left guide surface 12 and the base surface 3 serves as a pivoting edge (line) 21 for the ink metering elements 6.
  • a right guide surface 11 runs parallel to the left guide surface 12 of the longitudinal pit 9, a base surface 10 of the longitudinal pit 9 runs at a distance « a and parallel to the bottom surface 3 of the ink fountain base 2.
  • Vertical openings 13 in the ink fountain base 2 open into the base surface 10 of the longitudinal pit 9 and extend over an entire length «b of the ink fountain base 2 covered with ink metering elements 6 at a distance of z. B. 30 mm apart.
  • a cross section of the openings 13 is so large that a pivot arm 17 which is positively connected to the horizontally extending ink metering element 6 can be moved sufficiently.
  • the swivel arm 17 carries out a preselectable swivel movement. For this purpose, it is provided in its lower part with an elongated hole 18 into which a crank pin 19 driven by an electric motor engages.
  • a swivel edge 21 of the swivel arm 17 lies on an intersection of the guide surface 12 with the bottom surface 3 of the ink fountain base 2.
  • the swivel edge 21 for the swivel arm 17 is also the swivel edge for the ink metering element 6.
  • the bottom surface 3 of the ink fountain base 2 sits in a paint guide surface 22 Color metering element 6 continues without a groove or increase the transition between the two surfaces 3; 22 bothers.
  • the ink guide surface 22 takes one first straight course, which then changes into a concave curvature that ends in a color metering approach 5.
  • a vertical surface 24 of the ink metering element 6 forms an angle with its ink guide surface 22 (3 of approximately 90 ° and ends in a first support attachment 26.
  • the support attachment 26 protrudes about 1 mm beyond a curved rear surface 27 of the ink metering element 6.
  • a neck 28 of the swivel arm 17 opens.
  • the rear surface 27 ends in a second support projection 29. While the first support projection 26 is supported on the base surface 10, the second support projection 29 is supported on the right guide surface 11 of the longitudinal pit 9.
  • the support projections 26, 29 each preferably extend over an entire length “c of the color metering element 6 and enclose an angle -y of approximately 80 ° with one another.
  • the support lugs 26, 29 can have a rectangular cross section, their support surfaces 14, 15 as end faces should be as narrow as possible However, the support lugs 26, 29 can also be designed in the form of a cutting edge, straight-fronted or even with a round front.
  • An expansion bore 30 is made centrally to each opening 13 from the side facing away from the bottom surface 3 of the ink fountain 1.
  • a flat bore base 31 of the extension bore 30 forms a force application surface for a conical compression spring 32, which is attached to the pivot arm 17. It is clamped between the abutment surface - the bottom of the bore 31 - and the ends of a pin 33 projecting over the cross section of the pivot arm 17 and positively connected to the pivot arm 17.
  • the two support lugs 26, 29 and thus the ink metering element 6 are pressed against the by the compression spring 32 Base 10 or the right guide surface 11 of the longitudinal groove 9 drawn.
  • the vertical surface 24 of the ink metering element 6 is provided with an axially parallel groove 39, which extends over the entire length “c” of the ink metering element 6, approximately 1 mm from the ink guide surface 22. It serves to receive an elastic sealing cord 41, for. B. rectangular cross-section.
  • the sealing cord 41 extends in one piece over the entire length “b”. It is chosen in its dimensions so that the left guide surface 12 of the ink fountain base 2 is securely sealed against the vertical surface 24 of the ink metering element 6 in each operating position of the ink metering elements 6.
  • Paint metering element 6 and two side end plates 49, 50 delimited, sealed from the outside, extending over the entire length «b lubricant chamber 43 is completely with a lubricant, for. B. fat, filled out. This prevents printing ink or dirt from entering the lubricant chamber 43 and impairing the smooth operation of the ink metering elements 6.
  • each color metering element 6 is provided with a through hole 44 in its center. It ends on both end faces 45, 46 in a lubrication channel 47, 48. These each run within the area boundary of the end faces 45, 46 and are approximately 10 mm long, 2 mm wide and 0.5 mm deep.
  • patent protection is requested for an ink fountain for a printing press with an ink fountain roller immersed in the ink fountain and a large number of individually operable ink metering elements arranged closely side by side in an ink fountain floor, each of which is provided with a pivotable swivel arm.
  • the ink metering elements form a changeable ink metering gap with a peripheral surface of the ink fountain roller, characterized in that in an ink fountain base (2) with a bottom surface (3) of an ink fountain (1) an axially parallel to the ink fountain roller (4) longitudinal rub (9) with a parallelogram-shaped cross-section is worked in that a base (10) of the longitudinal pit (9) parallel to the bottom surface (3) of the ink fountain floor (2) runs that a left-hand guide surface (12) and the bottom surface (3) form a swivel edge (21) on their collision edge for the ink metering elements (6) arranged next to one another and enclose an angle (a) which is - 90 °, that a right guide surface (11) is provided in the longitudinal pit (9), that with the guide surfaces (12, 11) a circumference or parts of the circumference (26, 29) of the ink metering elements (6) arranged in the longitudinal pit (9) are in contact stand.
