Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for increasing the abrasion resistance and water resistance of metallized textile fabrics by coating with a coating agent containing free isocyanate groups and optionally further coating agents.
- the textiles coated in this way are particularly suitable as a starting material for the production of objects which can be located using radar.
- the method according to the invention can be applied to any metallized textile fabrics.
- metallized textiles according to DE-AS 27 43 768 are preferred.
- B. Ni-Fe combinations in question; Nickel, cobalt and copper are preferred according to the invention.
- two-component polyurethanes from a low molecular weight polyisocyanate and a relatively high molecular weight (molecular weight approx. 2,000 to 50,000) pre-adduct which still has groups that are reactive towards isocyanates, especially hydroxyl groups.
- Suitable starting components are e.g. B. in German Patent 957 294, in DE-AS 1 012456 and DE-OS 2 221 756 (US-PS 3904796).
- polystyrene resin In some cases, it may be appropriate to use two-component polyurethane systems in which either the polyisocyanate component or the isocyanate-reactive component (generally a polyamine) is blocked in a manner known per se so that the polyaddition reaction only takes place when heated to temperatures above about 100 ° C.
- polyamine generally a polyamine
- NCO prepolymers blocked with conventional blocking agents phenols, lactams and especially oximes
- the blocked prepolymers described in DE-OS 28 14 079 are representative of this.
- the coating composition containing free isocyanate groups only in a layer thickness of at most 0.1 mm as a primer for a second coating made of another material.
- any coating composition known per se before the polyurethane reactive system having free isocyanate groups has cured is preferred.
- any plastics such as those described in DE-OS 23 48 662, are suitable for this purpose. Because of their high permeability to microwaves, coatings made of natural rubber, soft PVC and polyvinyl acetate or copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate are particularly preferred, while polyurethane layers are often less suitable because they are generally in the range of the wavelength of the ship's radar (approx. 9, 4 GHz) absorb electromagnetic waves - especially with thicker coatings.
- the polymers of vinyl acetate and copolymers of vinyl acetate with up to 70% by weight (based on polymer) of ethylene which are particularly suitable for the second stage of the process according to the invention, are known per se. They are used either in the form of crosslinked aqueous dispersions or, preferably, in not yet crosslinked form and at the same time or after the curing of the primer by means of suitable crosslinking agents, e.g. B. cured by the action of peroxides, percarbonates or particularly preferably ⁇ -radiation. Processes of this type are e.g. B.
- the coating is cured in a manner known per se, preferably by passing the coated metallized textile through a heating channel, the isocyanate groups reacting with the crosslinking agent or with moisture and, if appropriate, also being used at the same time Solvents are evaporated. Simultaneously or subsequently, if a coating based on vinyl acetate polymers or copolymers is used, this can be done by the action of radiation, eg. B. beta radiation.
- radiation eg. B. beta radiation.
- the sample is left in the metal salt bath for about 20 minutes, removed, rinsed and dried.
- the sample absorbed about 40% by weight of nickel metal within these 20 minutes.
- the metallized filament yarn fabric showed the values of microwave reflection or absorption in transmission given in Table 1, measured by a measurement method which is described, for example, in H. Groll, Microwave Technology, F. Vieweg & Sohn, Braunschweig, 1969, p. 353 ff.
- the reflection loss is given in dB.
- a broadband frequency-modulated radiation of constant power e.g. B. 1 to 1.5 GHz, etc. used.
- the nickel-coated filament yarn fabric is now mixed with a mixture of 100 g of a 30% solution in ethyl acetate of a hydroxyl-containing prepolymer (from 80 parts of hexanediol / adipic acid polyester with a molecular weight of 800 and 20 parts of an isomer mixture of 65% 2.4- and 35% 2.6- Tolylene diisocyanate) and 50 g of a 75% solution in ethyl acetate of a triisocyanate of 3 mol of 2,4-tolylene diisocyanate and 1 mol of trimethylpropane and 50 g of a 10% solution of titanium tetrabutylate in ethyl acetate as an accelerator in a layer thickness of approx. 1 mm spread.
- a nickel-coated polyacrylonitrile filament yarn fabric is coated with the isocyanate-containing primer used in Example 1 to a thickness of about 0.05 mm and then laminated with 1 mm of a soft PVC layer.
- the soft PVC layer consists of 50 parts of emulsion PVC, 50 parts of plasticizer (dioctyl phthalate) and commercially available stabilizers, as are generally known in practice.
- test strips measuring 170 mm long and 15 mm wide are removed from the laminated, metallized fabric and the adhesive tensile strength of the laminated on in accordance with DIN 53 357 PVC layer measured.
- a nickel-coated polyacrylonitrile filament yarn fabric is coated with the isocyanate-containing primer described in Example 1 in a layer thickness of approximately 0.05 mm and then provided with an approximately 1 mm thick, orange-colored, non-crosslinked polyvinyl acetate layer. After the precoat has hardened at about 130 ° C. in the heating oven, the PVA layer is then physically crosslinked by the action of radiation (preferably ⁇ radiation).
- radiation preferably ⁇ radiation
- test strips of 170 mm long and 15 mm wide are removed from the laminated, orange-colored metallized fabric and the adhesive tensile strength of the laminated PVA layer is measured in accordance with DIN 53 357.

Description
So liegt z.
- (Siehe Tabelle 2 Seite 5 f.)
