Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hot water heater for gaseous or gasified liquid fuels, in particular for installation in mobile rooms, such as mobile homes, caravans, or in mountain huts or similar small rooms, with a closed, approximately circular in cross section water tank, a housing shell surrounding this water tank at least in the lower section , which is closed at the bottom by means of a floor and forms a gas-tight combustion chamber together with the water tank floor, a lower fresh air intake opening and an upper exhaust gas outlet opening, with passages through the water tank for inlet and outlet lines and with a one formed between the housing jacket and the water tank , annulus connected to the combustion chamber.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a hot water heater, which is characterized by a simple and particularly space-saving design and yet has a high efficiency.
  • a hot water heater of the type mentioned at the outset according to the invention is characterized in that both the exhaust gas outlet opening and the fresh air intake opening are provided in the housing jacket, and one or two box-shaped oriels for one or both openings are attached to the curved housing jacket. which complement the casing in the oriel area to a rectangular shape with their side walls, and that a connection piece is provided on one side wall for connection to an outer wall throughflow insert.
  • the water container hanging into the housing shell to form an annular space has a relatively large boundary surface with respect to the combustion chamber and thus a large heat transfer surface, which ensures rapid heating of the water and high efficiency.
  • Both the exhaust gas outlet opening and the fresh air intake opening can easily be made in a sufficient size in the casing.
  • a box-shaped bay window covering them forms a transition channel, which enables the connection of inexpensive wall penetration devices and thereby allows an advantageous space-saving installation of the device close to a wall.
  • a relatively large circumferential section of the housing shell is covered by the oriels tangent to the housing shell with its side walls, thereby allowing large passage openings.
  • the connecting pieces leading into the wall opening can have considerably smaller cross sections.
  • the oriel is also ideally suited for displacing the housing jacket openings in relation to the connecting pieces and for converting a rectangular flow channel into a round one.
  • a bay window results when it combines the two passages for the fresh air and the exhaust gases. This not only makes the manufacturing and assembly work considerably easier and cheaper, it also makes sealing much easier.
  • the oriel can also be used to receive and pass a gas supply line to the burner and / or other combustion technology devices, such as a solenoid valve. There is enough space in the lower part of the bay, in the fresh air chamber. An unscrewable oriel floor can be used as a holder or base plate for these devices.
  • the combination of several tank bushings for line or similar connections in a closure opening in the tank wall and in the housing jacket not only makes the manufacture of the water tank and the housing jacket cheaper, but also the assembly ge of these line connections, which can now be replaced at any time without difficulty.
  • the merged connections are best located in a location that is in a bay-free corner of the rectangle defined by the existing bay. In this way, despite its many connections, the hot water heater according to the invention can be set up and connected without difficulty in the smallest and difficult to access rooms, such as built-in cupboards or the like.
  • a hot water heater shown in Fig. 1 consists of a closed water tank 1 with a peripheral flange 2 and a housing shell 3, which is open at the top and here has a support flange 4, while it is closed at the bottom by a curved bottom 5.
  • the housing jacket is seated on a room floor 6 by means of feet 7.
  • the water tank is suspended with its peripheral flange 2 in the housing jacket 3 in such a way that a combustion chamber 10 for a flat gas burner 12 remains between its tank bottom 9 and the housing bottom 5.
  • the diameter of the container section 13 suspended in the housing jacket 3 is smaller than that of the housing jacket, so that there is an annular space 14 therebetween, which thus extends the combustion chamber 10.
  • the hot combustion gases rise from the combustion chamber to the upper end in this annulus.
  • this termination is formed by a gradation 15 of the water tank wall, which extends to the housing jacket.
  • this gradation increases in the withdrawal direction in order to prevent gas accumulation or congestion in the annular space.
  • this gradation also serves to center the water container in the housing shell 3 when these two walls are fitted with one another in a sealing manner.
  • the housing shell 3 and the water tank are suitably formed from sheet steel.
  • the floors are arched, conveniently in the form of conventional boiler floors.
  • the circular shape is advantageous in cross section.
  • a larger container section is suspended in the housing jacket, while a lower, upper container section rises like a dome above the peripheral flange 2 and forms a container dome.
  • the water tank is expediently divided along the circumferential flange 2, so that the tank then consists of two boiler bottoms 20, 21 placed one on top of the other.
  • the fresh air supply to the gas burner 12 takes place through a suction opening 34 formed in the housing jacket below an exhaust gas discharge opening 33.
  • a gas line 35 to the burner is introduced at a suitable point into the combustion chamber, through the floor 5 in FIG. 1.
  • Fig. 2 the water heater can be seen in plan view. It is surrounded by a heat insulation sleeve 37, which has a cubic shape to adapt to the installation conditions.
  • a connection opening 30 for the line connections is laid in a resulting corner, which is not the case in FIG. 1 for reasons of clarity.
  • a box-shaped oriel 38 which is attached to the housing jacket 3 and has the task of establishing the connection between the openings 33 and 34 in the housing jacket and the wall openings 42.
  • the oriel cross-section is designed so that it complements the round cross-sectional shape of the housing shell to form a rectangle.
  • Its side walls 38 'and 38 "therefore approximately affect the housing jacket, from which a relatively large circumferential section is covered, as a result of which the openings 33, 34 can likewise be large Provided, which can be inserted into the connection openings of a throughflow insert or an outer wall box 44, which combines the fresh air and exhaust gas channels.
  • An intermediate floor 41 in the oriel separates the exhaust gas from the fresh air passage.
  • the bay which does not noticeably exceed the corresponding upper and lower edges of the openings 33, 34 covered by it, is of course sealed airtight at the top and bottom. It expediently has a screwable bottom plate 41 'through which the gas line 35' can be laid via the fresh air chamber 36 to the gas burner 12.
  • further fittings such as solenoid valves, etc., which are necessary for combustion, can be mounted on this base plate or on the bay walls. In this way, the connection installation of the water heater is made considerably easier. So that the exhaust gas and fresh air flows from the outer wall to the combustion chamber are always separated, a baffle 43 projecting into the combustion chamber is also provided, which adjoins the intermediate floor 41.
  • a connection opening 30 (FIG. 3) is provided in the water tank and in the housing jacket for introducing a water inlet 25 and possibly further connections, such as for an immersion tube 26 for a thermostat, a heating medium circulation line 27 and an additional electric heating element 28.
  • This connection opening which also serves as a work opening for enamelling can serve the interior of the container is closed by a cover 31 (Fig. 3).
  • An advantageous closure is shown in FIG. 3.
  • the distance between the container wall 46 and the housing jacket 3 is bridged by a spacer ring 45, which advantageously surrounds the entire closure opening 30 and is made of metal.
  • the closure cover 31 consists of the two closure plates 47, 48, one of which is pressed from the inside onto the container wall and the other from the outside onto the housing jacket, expediently with the interposition of temperature-resistant sealing rings 49.
  • threaded bushings 50 and 51 are provided, which overlap the inner plate 47 with an inner shoulder 52 and 53, penetrate the two plates and are held on the outside by a screw nut 54 and 55, respectively.
  • These threaded bushings are advantageously designed for leadthroughs or entries for connections, such as heating rod 28 or thermostatic immersion tube 26.
  • the connection opening 30 is expediently oval, so that the large closure plate 47 can be inserted through it.
  • the internal sealing plate is pressed against the container wall with increasing internal pressure, thereby improving the seal.
  • the heating medium circulation line 27 shown in FIG. 3 can be connected to a fresh water tank, the fresh water then being pumped through the circulation line in order to protect the water in the fresh water tank from freezing.
  • An upper removal line 32 is used for water removal. This could also be introduced through the connection cover 31 into the water tank and guided upwards in this.
  • the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiment shown.
  • two box-shaped oriels 38 could be distributed over two connection points, each for an exhaust gas or fresh air duct, but this means additional effort.
  • These two oriels should only be arranged with a circumferential offset if the pressure conditions on the outside at the two channel ends are not noticeably different.
