The invention relates to a boiler construction and more especially to steam boilers.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of a boiler of this character, wherein through the use of a water container steam can be generated for its conveyance to a radiator so that an enclosure may be heated therefrom and such water container can be heated from gas, oil or coal, the structure being of novel construction and in the arrangement will occupy the least possible space and is economical in the consumption of fuel.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a boiler of this character, wherein the steam generated therein has a flow to a radiator or radiators for the heating thereof, there being sufiicient water heated to provide the required amount of steam necessary for the heating of the radiator or radiators.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a boiler of this character, which is comparatively simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and efficient in its operation, compact, durable, and inexpensive to manufacture and install.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the preferred embodiment of the invention and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.

Figure 1 is a vertical longitudinal sectional View through a boiler constructed in accordance with the invention.
Figure 2 is a top plan view of the same partly broken away.
Similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views in the drawing.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the boiler comprises an outside casing 5, in this instance of cylindrical form, and is supported upon a foundation for vertical erection. Within this casing 5 are the inner and outer bowl-like shells 6 and 1, these being arranged in spaced relation to each other, one within the other, to provide a fluid space 8 therebetween while above the uppermost end of the said shells is a steam dome 9 it having an outlet conduit III which leads to a radiator or radiators for delivering steam thereto. The shell 6 constitutes a water container to be heated for generating steam which has flow through the port II in the bottom of said shell to the fluid space 8.
The casing 5 at its top carries a crown l2 which is elevated from the dome 9 and from which leads an exhaust flue l3 for spent products of combustion from a heater M which in this instance is in the form of an oil burner, yet it is to be understood that gas or a coal burner of any approved type may be substituted for arrangement within the casing 5 and this is contemplated within the scope of the invention.
The casing 5 is equipped with a door 16 which permits access to the burner I4 which is located below the outer shell 6 and within the said casing. This outer shell 6 at its bottom is fitted with a removable plug I! to permit the cleaning out of the shells 6 and 1. The water supply to the shell 6 is had by a pipe l8 extended into the said shell 6 near the top thereof.
Covering the upper end of the shells 6 and 1 is a sheet metal separator plate 19 it having the holes 20 and 2!, respectively, for the passage of steam through the said holes 20 from the space 8 and also the passage of products of combustion through the holes 2| between the casing 5 and the outer shell I to the flue E3 in the operation of the boiler. This separator plate I9 is bolted between the casing 5 and the crown l2 as at 22 and centrally in this plate I9 is a vent hole 23, the water level or line in the shell 6 being indicated at 24.
In the operation of the boiler water is supplied to the shell 6 through the pipe 18 to have the quantity of water therein reach the level or line 24 and on the starting of the heater M the water Within the boiler will be heated for generating steam in the steam dome 9 whence this steam will be conveyed through the conduit I0 to a radiator or radiators for the heating of the same and in this manner heating an enclosure where the radiator or radiators may be located.
What is claimed is:
A boiler including a casing having a heater therein, a crown top for the casing having a heat exhaust flue, an outer bowl-like shell suspended Within and spaced from said casing, an inner bowl-like shell suspended within the outer shell and spaced therefrom to provide a fluid space therebetween, said inner shell having a bottom port that communicates with the fluid space, a separator plate supported between the casing and the crown top thereof and providing a top for the shells, said separator plate having spaced series of openings that communicate respectively with the fluid space between the shells and the space between the outer shell and the casing, a dome-like member in the top of the outer casing having its edge fixed to the separator plate between said series of openings, and said dome having a steam outlet conduit, a pipe for delivering water into the inner shell below the separator plate and said separator plate having an air vent therethrough.
