Bedingt durch diese Schlittenbewegung gleiten die beim Einziehen eines neuen Blechbandes allenfalls auf den Scheiben 6 aufruhenden Bandstreifen 1 von den Scheiben ab, wobei sie zwangsläufig in die gewünschte Lage zwischen den Scheiben gelangen. Claims (2)

1. Apparatus for guiding the several ribbons of metal strip that has been slit into longitudinal ribbons (1), comprising a backing roller (4), which is held in the frame (12) and extends transversely to the longitudinal ribbons (1) and is parallel to the strip and carries discs (6), which constitute a comb for guiding the individual longitudinal ribbons (1), which backing roller is mounted in a carriage (3), which is adapted to be reciprocated in the frame (2) by drive means transversely to the longitudinal ribbons (1) and parallel to the strip on opposite sides on a central position, characterized in that the discs (5) constitute a comb for guiding the longitudinal ribbons (1) resting on the backing roller (4), the drive means for the carriage (3) movably mounted in a frame (2) consist of a hydraulic cylinder (8), and the carriage (3) is adapted to be fixed in a predetermined operating position relative to the frame (2) by a detent device (12).
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the detent device (12) consists of a pin (13), which is adjustable transversely to the movement of the carriage and enters a mating aperture (15) in the carriage.
