Definitions
- the present invention relates to machines for working wood pieces such as planers and planers, comprising a rotary tool composed of a tool holder provided with protruding axial blades and intended to machine at least one surface of the piece of wood to work, this tool being flanked, side entremet side outlet, of two rollers for driving the workpieces, these rollers having axes parallel to that of the tool and being coupled in rotation to the latter by means of a planetary gear reduction mechanism.
- a machine of this type is described in CH 103, 483.
- the reduction mechanism is mounted on the lower part of the machine and coupled by belt and chain transmissions respectively to the tool and to the rollers. training.
- the reaction element of the planet gear is coupled to the machine frame by passing through a clutch coupling which is used to control the rotation of the rollers.
- the object of the invention is to simplify this known construction and to provide a robust and compact machine whose reduction mechanism with planetary gear can be manufactured at the lowest cost.
- the subject of the invention is therefore a machine for shaping of the type defined above, characterized in that one of the planetary wheels of the planetary gear is mounted directly on the shaft of one of the drive rollers while being integral with this one and in that the other planetary is a reaction planetary which went crazy on the same shaft and immobilized in rotation relative to the machine frame while being able to slide radially therein to allow the elastic application of the roller on the workpiece.
- the reduction mechanism being mounted directly on the axis of one of the rollers eliminates chain transmission and at the same time easily absorbs the adaptations of the position of the roller driven by the mechanism to the different thicknesses of treated wood.
- the invention is applied, by way of example to a planer.
- the characteristics of the invention can be applied to any wrinkling machine other than a planer, such as a planer for example.
- Figs. 1 and 2 partially show a planer 1 comprising a frame 2 in the sidewalls 3 of which a planing tool 4 is rotatably mounted in a manner known per se.
- This tool is of the type comprising a tool holder provided with projecting axial blades (not shown).
- a passage corridor 5 in which can move a piece of wood PB to work.
- the bottom of the corridor is formed by a support 6 of adjustable height.
- Fig. 1 shows that the tool 4 projects into the corridor 5, the part being planed and thickened by progressing in the corridor in the direction of the arrow F (Fig. 1).
- rollers 7 and 8 are provided, placed on either side of the tool 4, their axes being parallel to the axis of the latter.
- the rollers 7 and 8 protrude slightly in the passage 5 and can thus come into contact with the upper surface of the part PB upstream and downstream of the working area of the tool 4.
- the roller 7 is placed at the entrance while the roller 8 is placed at the exit of the corridor 5.
- the tool 4 is driven by an electric motor, for example (not shown) ensuring a high speed drive of the tool and of the shaft 4a (Fig.2) on which the latter is mounted; the drive speed can be for example 6000 rpm.
- the shaft 4a carries at its free end a drive pulley 9 which is fixed to this shaft by means of a screw 10. On this pulley 9 passes a drive belt 11 which is engaged with a reduction mechanism 12 which has for this purpose an annular groove 13 (see Fig. 3 and 6).
- the rollers 7 and 8, one of which is preferably notched, are mounted on shafts 7a and 8a suspended in bearings 14 resiliently mounted in the frame 1.
- FIG. 3 schematically represents such a bearing 14 and its sus elastic board is symbolized here by a spring 15 attached to the upper surface of the frame 2.
- the rollers 7 and 8 are pressed constantly against the workpiece PB during its progression in the corridor 5 and can thus adapt to the thickness of this piece.
- the shaft 7a comprises, on the side of the reduction mechanism 12, a stepped extension 16 at the free end of which is provided a pulley 17 which is stopped by a screw 18 engaged in a threaded hole 19 of this extension 16.
- the shaft 8a extends laterally relative to the frame 1 and carries at its end, in the same way, a pulley 20 of the same diameter as the pulley 17, a drive belt 21 passing over these pulleys.
- the pulley 20 is stopped on the shaft 8a on which it is wedged by a screw 22 engaged in a threaded hole (not visible in the drawings) of the shaft 8a.
- the extension 16 of the shaft 7a comprises, beyond the bearing 14, two bearing surfaces 23 and 24, the bearing surface 24 in particular receiving the pulley 17.
- the extension 16 has two annular radial shoulders 25 and 26 respectively.
- On the bearings 23 and 24 are mounted a fixed or reaction sun gear 27 and a rotary sun gear 28 constituting the output of the planetary gear forming the reduction mechanism 12.
- the sun gear 27 comprises a cylindrical sleeve 29 and a pinion 30, the sleeve 29 swiveling in a bearing 31.
- the latter is mounted in a central hole 32 of a radial flange 33 of the half 34a of a drum 35 which forms the planet carrier of the reduction mechanism 12.
- This drum thus comprises two halves 34a and 34b which are identical, apart from the fact that the half 34b comprises the groove 13 in which the belt 11 is engaged ensuring the drive of this planet carrier.
- the sun gear 28 comprises a sleeve 37 and a pinion 38, this sun gear being provided with an axial keying groove 39 ensuring by means of a key 40 the rotational coupling of this pinion 28 with the shaft 7a.
- the sleeve 37 has, at its end opposite the pinion 38, two flats 41 cooperating with locking legs for rotation of the pulley 17.
- the pinions 30 and 38 have teeth of identical module but in different numbers for example.
- the pinion 30 has 31 teeth, while the pinion 38 has only 30.
- the two pinions 30 and 38 mesh with a single satellite 42 journalling in the halves 34a and 34b of the drum 35.
- these two halves have aligned holes 43 in which are mounted the bearing surfaces 42a of a satellite 42 by the needle roller intermediate 44.
- the sleeve 29 of the sun gear 27 has at its end opposite the pinion 30 two flats 45 for immobilizing the sun gear in rotation. These flats 45 cooperate with the straight edges of a rectangular hole 46 of a guide plate 47 mounted laterally on the frame 1 in front of a hole 48 formed in the side wall of this frame and through which the shaft 7a of the roller passes. 7.
- the reduction ratio of the planetary gear is comparatively very high and thanks to the presence of this reducer, it is therefore possible to obtain the speed reduction necessary between the tool 4 and the rollers 7 and 8, for a minimum size of this reducer which does not never exceed the upper plane 2 of the machine in height.
- the reduction ratio can be easily chosen by the difference in the numbers of teeth of the gears 30 and 38.
- the planetary gear mechanism also allows the input and output of the reduction gear to be aligned in alignment with the same axis, which also contributes to reducing the bulk.
- the mechanism being housed in a fully closed drum which forms an integral part of the reducer, the gear train is protected from dust and can be easily greased once and for all.
- the reduction mechanism can be made of a molded material, for example, a light alloy such as Zamac, or possibly plastic.
- a light alloy such as Zamac
- the two halves of the drum 35 are of identical shape to the molding.
- a particular advantage of the presence of the planetary gear reduction mechanism results from the reversal of the direction of rotation that it provides between its input and its output.
- This particular characteristic makes it possible to mount the reduction gear directly on the shaft of a drive roller which thus constitutes its direct output.
- a special stage must be provided in the reduction chain (sprockets and belts, for example) to obtain this reversal of direction of rotation.
- This characteristic also makes it possible to connect directly by an elastic belt (the belt 11 in this case) the inlet of the reducer to the shaft of the tool 4.
