Definitions

  • the invention relates to a doctor device for applying liquid substances to sheet-like material, in which the liquid application substance emerges from a bottom opening of a doctor box, the liquid pressure required for the exit of the liquid application substance being generated by at least one displacement pump.
  • Squeegee devices of this type are mainly used in stencil printing machines, with flowable ink being pressed out of the slot-shaped bottom opening of the squeegee box through the perforations of a stencil.
  • a doctor device of the type mentioned at the outset is also suitable " for the direct application of a liquid substance to a flat material.
  • the displacement pump is arranged outside the circular stencil, where it is connected to a storage container and from there conveys the dye into the squeegee chamber via one or more supply lines.
  • the liquid pressure is also produced in a known manner (cf. FR-PS 1 116 729) hydrostatically using a high-level storage container, the same difficulties arise and, in addition, there is the difficulty that a rapid pressure change to influence the print quality is not possible.
  • the invention was therefore based on the object of improving a rake device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that a rapid pressure change to influence the print quality is possible and that the smallest possible amount of color is lost during a color change.
  • the invention provides that the displacement pump or the displacement pumps are arranged in the doctor box
  • a solution has also already been proposed in which a screw conveyor is located in the paint tube is arranged, which should ensure an equalization of the liquid pressure generated by the outer positive displacement pump over the entire length of the Rakelka mer.
  • the invention achieves the same purpose very simply in that the positive displacement pump or its outlet opening is at least substantially over the Length of the Rakel ⁇ box extends, or that several displacement pumps are distributed over the length of the doctor box or the outlet openings extend over a substantial part of the length of the doctor box. This is particularly easy when, for example, gear pumps are used as displacement pumps.
  • the pressure control of the application substance applied to the outlet gap of the doctor blade box can be carried out according to the invention in that a ' return line for the discharge of pressurized, unnecessary application substance
  • Fig. 2 shows a detail of Fig. 1
  • Fig. 3 shows another embodiment of a doctor device according to the invention in vertical section.
  • a thin-walled squeegee box 3 is arranged in a round stencil 2, which is only indicated, for printing, in particular, florware 1, which is provided with a nozzle-shaped outlet gap 3 'towards the stencil 2.
  • a displacement pump 4 designed as a gear pump is arranged in the interior of the doctor box 3.
  • the doctor blade box 3 is open at the top in the illustrated embodiment.
  • the ink supply takes place via a paint tube 5 with outlet openings 6.
  • the supply quantity is regulated via a known level control 7 in order to keep the ink level in the doctor box 3 constant.
  • the displacement pump 4 which is designed as a gear pump, extends essentially over the length of the doctor box, that is to say over the entire printing width of the doctor device, the toothed rollers 4 '(FIG. 2) being mounted in support bearings 8 at preferably uniform intervals .
  • rings 9 made of slidable material are used in grooves 10 of the toothed rollers 4 "which slide on a slidable surface 11 of the support bearings.
  • the delivery of dye is adjusted by regulating the speed of the gear pump 4.
  • the gear pump 4 can be driven at a somewhat higher speed than the required suction-side pressure.
  • the compensation and the exact pressure setting are then carried out via return lines 12 which are preferably arranged at regular intervals and return the excess ink to the ink supply above the gear pump 4.
  • return lines 12 can e.g. open into a common tube 13, in which an inflatable tube 14 is arranged, with the help of compressed air introduced into the inflatable tube any back pressure can be set to the color flowing back through the return lines.
  • FIG. 3 differs from the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2 only in that another displacement pump 4 is arranged in the doctor box 3, namely a radial piston pump.
  • another displacement pump 4 is arranged in the doctor box 3, namely a radial piston pump.
  • the reference numerals entered for FIG. 3 have the meaning explained on the basis of FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments.
  • too several displacement pumps distributed in the longitudinal direction of the doctor box, can be arranged.
  • suitable positive displacement pumps preference will be given to those which - like the gear pump - run slowly. This prevents harmful foaming in the liquid dye.
  • the bottom opening of the squeegee box can have the shape of a continuous outlet gap or can be interrupted or perforated by webs.
  • doctor device according to the invention must not only be used in stencils, in particular circular stencils, but can also be used without a stencil for direct application of liquid application substance to sheet-like material
