Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hand-operated road marking device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Marking devices of this type are known, for example from US-A-41 26 273, and are generally used when marking lines are only used for short distances, for example only on heavily trafficked bends, driveways or other places, or also for marking parking spaces on road edges or in parking lots, to be pulled or renewed.
  • the operator pushes the device in front of him and, to draw the lines, actuates an operating element attached to the handlebar of the device, with which the spray can valve can be opened, usually by pushing in or tilting the outlet valve or the spray nozzle seated thereon.
  • the marking device described in US-A-41 26 273 works, like other known hand marking devices, with spray nozzles made of elastically deformable plastic, each of which forms a part belonging to the spray can in question and is thrown away together with the spray can after it has been emptied. Since commercially available spray cans or aerosol cans are generally manufactured and sold together with their plastic spray nozzle, the plastic nozzles attached to each spray can have been used to draw the marking lines. Now, however, the exact dimensions of the usual, relatively soft plastic spray nozzles vary more or less due to the manufacturing tolerances from spray can to spray can, and moreover, the nature of the marking mass causes a more or less strong abrasion of the edges of the nozzle slot.
  • the very practical spray cans have so far not been able to draw marking lines as cleanly and regularly and also not in a reproducible manner as would be desirable.
  • Another disadvantage is that after the first use of a spray can, the plastic nozzle is more or less clogged by the drying paint, so that a spray can that is started cannot be used again after a long break, if you don't bother to use the old one Remove the plastic nozzle and throw it away and replace it with a new plastic nozzle from another spray can.
  • the aforementioned US-A-41 26 273 is intended to solve the problem of automatically achieving the correct orientation of the outlet slot of the spray nozzle when inserting a spray can into a hand-held marking device. Since the orientation of this outlet slot, which is important for the generation of a line of the desired width, cannot be readily recognized when the can is inserted into the marking device, a geometrically fairly complicated orientation device belonging to the spray can holder was provided in accordance with the above-mentioned US patent, which has a spiral shape on the inside curved guide surfaces and rectangular recesses at their lower boundaries.
  • the spray nozzle itself must be provided laterally with radially protruding lugs whose downward-facing surfaces converge so that, guided by the spiral surfaces of the orientation device, they can engage in the recesses while rotating the entire spray can.
  • the spray can to be used must therefore be aligned overall. It is obvious that this is due to the installation of a special orientation device and the special design of the alignment problem which is solved with this spray nozzle, solely because each spray can to be used is equipped with its own spray nozzle.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a road marking device of the type described in the preamble of claim 1, with which the quality of the drawn lines is improved and at the same time the cost involved in the use of conventional spray cans is reduced.
  • the spray nozzle the outlet slot of which determines the exact limitation and, given the height of the spray nozzle above the road surface, the width of the drawn line, is therefore part of the marking device according to the invention and no longer the one currently used Spray can. It is thereby achieved in a simple manner that the quality and width of the marking no longer depend on the nature of the nozzle of the spray can currently used and vary from spray can to spray can, but rather are constant, especially since a spray can made of wear-resistant material is subject to very slow abrasion. Since the spray nozzle also sits firmly and immovably in the can holder and its position remains unchanged even when spray cans are replaced, lines in particular can be moved on immediately after changing a spray can and without having to readjust the paint jet. In particular, no twisting of the spray nozzle can take place, so that there are no problems associated with the correct alignment of the spray nozzle. Finally, the spray attachment forming or containing the spray nozzle is omitted for each spray can, which saves material and costs.
  • the arrangement can expediently be such that the spray nozzle is removably arranged in an opening in the base part of the spray can holder.
  • more than one spray can holder, for example for drawing double lines, and also a bead spreader can be provided on the marking device.
  • the road marking device has an essentially L-shaped chassis 1 with three wheels 2, two of which are mounted one behind the other on the one side and the third wheel is mounted on the other side.
  • a tubular handlebar 3 is attached, which also serves as a push rod for pushing the marking vehicle and has a handle 4 at the upper end.
  • the handlebar 3 is rotatable about its longitudinal axis in the sense of the double arrow according to FIG. 1 and for this purpose sits with its lower end rotatable, but axially immovable on a pin attached to the chassis 1.
  • a forward-facing support 5 is formed on the chassis 1, on which an annular clamp 6 or clamp is attached for releasably fastening a spray can holder 7.
  • the spray can holder 7 has the shape of a hollow cylindrical container which is open at the top and has a lower base part 8 which has a central opening 9 for inserting a spray nozzle 10.
  • This spray nozzle which is shown in more detail in FIGS. 4 to 6, is made of a wear-resistant material such as brass or steel and has in its central region a flange 11 which is formed on and protrudes radially on diametrically opposite sides and which in the top view according to FIG Side becomes wider.
  • the central nozzle channel has a round inlet bore 12, which defines an inlet opening for the valve outlet tube 21 of a commercially available spray can 20 shown in FIG. 2, which is inserted into the spray can holder 7 with the valve pointing downward.
  • the inlet bore 12 adjoins the actual nozzle opening, which initially has a round flow cross-section of smaller diameter in the central region of the nozzle channel and then widens in the flow direction to a rectangular outlet slot 13, the long sides of which are larger and the short sides of which are smaller than the diameter of the central one round area.
  • the outlet slot 13 In the assembled state or in the working position, as shown in the figures, the outlet slot 13 must be oriented transversely to the marking direction, that is to say with its long sides perpendicular to the direction of movement of the marking vehicle.
  • the emerging color beam then has the diverging shape 22 indicated in FIG. 1 and supplies the marking line 23.
  • the width of the drawn line 23 depends, apart from the flow cross-section or the outlet slot of the spray nozzle 10, on its height above the road surface.
  • the spray can holder 7 can be moved axially when the clamp 6 is not tensioned and can be fixed at the desired height by tightening a wing screw 14. So that the spray can holder 7 is always attached in the exact orientation in which the outlet slot 13 of the spray nozzle 10 lies transversely to the marking direction, a longitudinal groove 15 is provided in the wall of the spray can holder 7, into which the inner end 14a (FIG. 2) of the wing screw 14 engages, longitudinal groove 15 and screw end 14a thus form interacting adjustment parts, which of course can also be designed differently.
  • the spray nozzle 10 is fastened to the base part 8 in such a way that, in the aforementioned fixed orientation of the spray can holder 7, the long sides of the nozzle outlet slot 13 are perpendicular to the direction of movement of the marking device.
  • this pressure element consists of a pressure plate 19 lying loosely on the bottom of the can, which is connected on the one hand by means of a chain 18a to the wing screw 14 or to the clamp 6 and on the other hand by means of a further chain 18b, which is approximately diametrically opposite End of the pressure plate 19 engages, is connected to a laterally projecting arm 17 attached to the lower end of the handlebar 3. Therefore, when the operator rotates the handlebar 3 accordingly about its longitudinal axis, the two chains 18a and 18b are tensioned, as a result of which the pressure plate 19 is pulled down while taking the spray can 20 and thus opening the can valve. As long as the handlebar 3 is held in this position against the action of the can valve spring, paint flows out of the spray nozzle 10. After the release of the handlebar 3, the can valve closes under the action of the valve spring, whereby the spray can 20 is raised accordingly and the handlebar 3 is turned back into its rest position.
  • the preparation and operation of the marking vehicle is very easy.
  • Conventional spray cans filled with marking paint are used, but without the spray attachment with the plastic nozzle normally provided on each spray can, which saves material on each spray can.
  • the arranged at the bottom of the spray can holder 7 spray nozzle 10 only needs to have an inlet bore which is adapted to the generally standardized valve outlet tube of the spray can and, since it experiences very little wear, has a very long service life, so that very clean and uniform Marking lines with precisely definable constant width can be drawn.
  • the simple, quickly detachable attachment of the spray nozzle 10 is not only advantageous for the convenient replacement of the spray nozzles, but also allows the spray nozzle to be removed without difficulty and placed on a spray can to be used directly, so that markings can be made with or without the marking carriage direct hand markings can also be carried out with one and the same spray nozzle, which can be placed one after the other on several spray cans.
  • Fig. 7 shows another arrangement of a metal spray nozzle 10 on the bottom part 8a of a spray can holder, not shown, which is mounted on a manually operated road marking device.
  • the spray nozzle 10 is simply inserted loosely with its cylindrical peripheral wall 10a surrounding the outlet-side section of the nozzle channel from the inside of the spray can holder 7 into the adapted round opening 9a of its base part 8a and lies with the radially extending nozzle flange 11 on the inside thereof Bottom part 8a.
  • the spray nozzle 10 is held in a defined position in the opening 9a of the base part 8a without the aid of additional fastening means, the spray can, which presses against the spray nozzle with its weight, additionally fixing its position during operation.
  • the base part 8a of the spray can holder can preferably consist only of a diametrical strut, so that one can reach into the spray can holder from below on both sides of this strut and thus insert or remove the spray nozzle 10 with a simple movement.
