Definitions

  • Ripples are periodic bumps on the rail surface with wavelengths of approx. 30 to 60 mm and amplitudes up to approx. 0.4 mm and are preferably presented on the running surface as more or less regular shiny mountains and valleys. These corrugations reduce driving comfort and contribute significantly to the stress on the vehicles and the superstructure. They cause the track system to deteriorate prematurely and significantly increase noise emissions.

Claims (5)

1. Rail exempt de stries ondulatoires pour véhicules roulant sur rails, caractérisé en ce que le rail comporte dans la zone des surfaces de roulement et/ou de guidage un matériau métallique dont la limite d'élasticité et d'allongement est supérieur à la pression superficielle provoquée par la roue.
2. Rail selon fa revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que le rail est constitué dans la zone des surfaces de roulement et/ou de guidage par un matériau non écrouissable par déformation à froid.
3. Rail selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que, dans la zone des surfaces de roulement et/ou de guidage, le matériau présente une structure martensitique et une dureté de 40 à 60 degrés Rockwell C.
4. Rail selon une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que le matériau présente la composition suivante:
