Definitions
- the invention relates to a sheet-guiding film as an elevator for impression cylinders of rotary printing presses for perfecting ; whose one surface is smooth and whose opposite surface is provided with statistically evenly distributed, equally high spherical caps.
- DE-A-2 820 549 has also made known a metal sheet guiding film which has at least two layers.
- a carrier layer made of aluminum or copper is roughened and nickel-plated on one side by blasting.
- Another thin layer of hard nickel can be applied to this second layer of nickel.
- a three-layer sheet guiding surface also has the disadvantage that the structure of the roughened surface is weakened. The valleys become narrower and the higher load-bearing areas larger. The result of this is that the ink release behavior deteriorates in the case of a three-layer sheet-guiding film. In addition, it is difficult to bend the three-layer sheet guiding films at the ends for the purpose of clamping, since the hard nickel layer tears in the process.
- a sheet guiding nickel is known as an elevator for impression cylinders of rotary printing presses for perfecting and reverse printing, the one surface of which is smooth and the opposite surface of which is provided with statistically uniformly distributed, equally high spherical calves.
- This metal foil is made from nickel using a galvanic impression process using a negative mold.
- the first films molded in such a negative form are relatively smooth. The more films, however, who produces. the more micro-roughness occurs on the structured surface. On the other hand, it was observed that such films showed reduced ink release behavior after start-up in the start-up phase. The optimal ink delivery behavior was only achieved after long use of the elevator in the machine.
- the object of the invention is to provide a film of this known type, the ink release behavior of which is approximately constant throughout the life of the film.
- the solution to this problem is based on the knowledge that the initially unsatisfactory color release behavior of the known film is based on its micro-roughness, and consists in the fact that the film is formed by a carrier layer and a cover layer, the carrier layer made of nickel or plastic with a high modulus of elasticity, e.g. .
- the carrier layer made of nickel or plastic with a high modulus of elasticity, e.g. .
- the color release behavior of a surface depends on its structure and material.
- the formation of the load-bearing surfaces as spherical spheres favors the removal of the assumed color. Materials such as chrome, nickel and certain plastics also promote color delivery.
- the carrier layer can therefore, for example, from a nickel foil produced by means of electroforming or from pressed plastic foils with a high modulus of elasticity, e.g. B. hard polyamide films exist.
- the applied chrome layer can have a thickness of 0.01 to 0.03 mm, for example. It largely compensates for the micro-roughness of a nickel or plastic layer and thus offers a smoother surface than the carrier layer. The result of this is that a film according to the invention shows the best ink delivery behavior in the first days of commissioning. Surprisingly, the quality of the ink delivery behavior was even increased overall. Obviously, the chrome-plated surface is smoother and more color-friendly than an optimally designed, structured surface of the well-known nickel foil. The considerable extension of the washing intervals is also remarkable. An elevator according to the invention needs to be washed much less frequently than the known nickel foil.
- the service life of the sheet guiding film is extended by the service life of the very hard chrome layer.
- the ink release behavior of such a chrome-plated, sheet-guiding film remains practically constant over the entire service life, because after the wear of the very thin chrome layer on the sheet-bearing surface parts, the carrier layer that appears also has good ink release properties.
- the use of pure nickel as a carrier layer is particularly advantageous because chromium and nickel complement each other in their chemical resistance to the chemicals used in offset printing.
- the thin chrome layer can be damaged by applying RapidSchärzer.
- nickel is resistant to rapid blackers.
- certain washer fluid additives U. in connection with local tap water nickel. Chromium resists these chemicals.
- the thin chrome layer prevents the premature wear of a nickel foil when using unfavorable cleaning water additives.
- the structured surface 1 of the sheet 2 guiding the sheet is littered with wings in the form of spherical caps 3.
- These spherical caps 3 are arranged statistically evenly distributed, d. that is, their distribution is not symmetrical, but approaches symmetry.
- Statistically uniform also means that approximately the same number of spherical caps 3 is provided on a unit area. This ensures that the gaps, the valleys 4, do not differ significantly in size and shape. Basically, a uniform base of a sheet to be printed is also guaranteed.
- the spherical caps 3 are all of the same height.
- the domes of the spherical caps 3 thus form a supporting plane 5.
- the spherical shape of the supporting surfaces and the formation of the supporting plane 5 ensure excellent support of the sheet to be printed on the other side.
- This arrangement of the spherical caps 3 also prevents premature wear of higher-lying wings, as is the case with known sheet-supporting foils.
- the sheet-guiding film 2 consists of two layers, namely the carrier layer 6 made of nickel and the cover layer 7 made of chrome.
- the carrier layer 6 can be produced, for example, by electroforming, although the load-bearing tips still have a relatively high level of micro-roughness.
- the thin chrome layer 7 can be applied in another bath. Its surface becomes considerably smoother than the carrier layer 6.
- Such a sheet-bearing film has an equally good color release behavior from the start of use, while when using the support film alone, the optimal color release behavior is achieved only after a certain smoothing of the micro-roughness.
- the chrome-plated surface can also be washed better than the slightly rougher surface of the carrier layer 6.
- the clamping wheels 8 must first be bent before the cover layer 7 is applied in the chrome bath.
- the exemplary embodiment can experience modifications in that, instead of the carrier layer 6 made of nickel, which is produced by electroforming, an embossed or etched plastic film, e.g. B. a suitable in terms of good color behavior hard thermoplastic made of PVC, polyester, polyamide, is used.
- the thermoplastic must have a high modulus of elasticity, because otherwise it would give way in the pressure nip due to the flexing process and would cause wider printing.

Description
Chrom widersteht diesen Chemikalien.
- Fig. 3 den Schnitt C-D durch denselben Folienschnitt.
