Abstract

A sliding folding door of double-walled construction with the sliding door including a plurality of leaves interconnected by shaped connecting rails. The doors are adapted to be foldable or pivotable about vertically extending pivots disposed inside the connecting rails. Each of the connecting rails includes two cylindrical walls that have a quarter-circle cross section and extend along the connecting rail, with center points of their radius of curvature being arranged in the pivots. Each cylindrical wall has opposed thereto a crosspiece that extends along a long side of the respective door leaves.

Description

The invention relates to a sliding folding door, the double-walled gate leaves are connected by profiled connections g -rails by two vertical pivot axes lying within the connecting rails.

The proposed invention is used in two-, three- and multi-leaf sliding folding gates for industrial halls and large garages.

In view of increasing energy shortages and rising energy costs, the connection or pivot points between the gate leaves of sliding folding gates are becoming an increasing problem. While it has been possible to improve the thermal insulation of the double-walled gate leaves in a satisfactory manner, wishes still remain unanswered with regard to the gaps at the connection points. These long gaps have so far not been satisfactorily sealed in any of the various known types of sliding folding doors be so especially against strong air movement ER h ebliche losses of heat energy into account must be taken. The design of the connection and pivoting points of the folding ski gates has often not been given sufficient attention from the point of view of the risk of accidents. The request to be made to me sat the inevitable in these places. Gaps in every position of the gate wing must be so small that children cannot pinch a finger there, too, has so far often not been sufficiently fulfilled.

German patent specification 1 509 252 discloses a multi-leaf sliding folding door in which the door leaves are hingedly connected to one another by means of cover strips of U-shaped cross section, the pivot axes of the door leaves lying within the outline of the cover rails. The proposed design of the longitudinal edges of the gate leaves and the cover rails is not suitable for avoiding the adverse effects of the longitudinal gaps between the pivotable parts which are required for technical reasons.

The invention has for its object to design a sliding folding door so that the longitudinal gaps at the pivot points between the gate leaves are properly sealed in their closed position and also these gaps are so small in each pivoting position of the gate leaves that an accident risk is excluded.

This object is achieved on a sliding folding door of the type described at the outset in that each connecting rail has two cross-sections which are quarter-circular in cross section and extend along the connecting rail with their centers of curvature in the. Has cylinder walls lying pivot axes and each cylinder wall opposite web arranged along the long side of the gate wing. These cylinder walls of constant curvature, in conjunction with the webs opposite them, mean that the gaps at the pivot points can be chosen almost arbitrarily small and are the same in every pivot position of the gate leaves, so that both an excellent seal is achieved and the risk of accidents is avoided.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, each connecting rail carries two further, quarter-circular, longitudinally extending cylinder walls with their centers of curvature likewise lying in the pivot axes, which are opposed by two further webs. By means of this measure, the sealing is additionally improved, because each pivot point is equipped with two columns one behind the other, which enclose an air cushion; moreover, with a suitable dimensioning, an identical appearance of the inside and outside of the sliding folding door can be achieved.

Aus konstruktiven und optischen Gründen setzen die Stege vorteilhaft an der Außenwand bzw. der Innenwand der Torflügel an.For structural and visual reasons, the webs are advantageously applied to the outer wall or the inner wall of the gate leaves.

Die Zylinderwandungen sind durch Querstege zweckmäßig verbunden.The cylinder walls are expediently connected by crossbars.

Zwischen den Zylinderwandungen kann Dämmaterial angeordnet sein.Insulating material can be arranged between the cylinder walls.

It is advantageous if sealing tapes are arranged along the webs.

According to another important feature of the invention the extended end of the cylinder wall in the closed position of the door wing adjoins a sealing cushion attached to the inner wall or the outer wall of the door wing. This sealing pad serves as a stop to limit the pivoting movement of the gate leaves in their open position and acts as an additional sealing measure because the air cushion is divided into two parts between the two columns one behind the other.

A division of the air cushion in the swivel point into three parts and thus a further improvement of the seals and the thermal insulation can be achieved by a special design of the swivel joints, by means of hinges on the connecting rails, which are formed by hinges which carry end bolts and which are located on the inner or outer wall of the gate wing molded, having a longitudinal slot sleeves.

The invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the accompanying drawing and is described in more detail below with reference to this. Show it:
  • FIG. 1 shows a three-leaf sliding folding door equipped with new connecting rails, in a front view;
  • Figure 2 shows the sliding folding door according to Figure 1, in a horizontal section, in a somewhat simplified representation, with a half-open position of the gate wing is shown with dashed lines;
  • Figure 3 shows a connecting rail in a cross section, corresponding to detail A in Figure 2, approximately natural size.

The sliding folding door, which is shown in Figures 1 and 2, consists of three door leaves 1, 2 and 3, which are arranged side by side in a vertical door frame 4. The two frame posts 5 and the frame camphor 6 consist of steel profiles and are firmly connected to the wall 7 of the building. In the door frame 6 a support rail 8 is provided, in which support rollers 9 run, on which the gate leaves 2 and 3 are rotatably suspended. The three gate leaves 1, 2 and 3 are double-walled, the outer wall 10 and inner wall i1 being made from steel sheets, between which a thermal insulation material is provided. When the sliding folding door is closed, the inner walls 11 (see FIG. 2) lie against a stop rail 13 embedded in the floor 12; a corresponding stop rail (not shown) is located on the underside of the frame member 6.

The three gate leaves 1, 2 and 3 are connected to one another on their opposite longitudinal sides 14 by means of profiled connecting rails 15 such that they can pivot about two vertical pivot axes 16 and 17 lying within these connecting rails 15. A corresponding connecting rail 18 is located between the first gate leaf 1 and the frame post 5, where this gate leaf 1 is pivotally attached. The connecting rails 15 are pivotally connected to the gate leaves 1, 2 and 3 by means of hinges 19 arranged at three different heights (cf. FIG. 1). When the sliding folding door is opened, the gate leaves 1, 2 and 3 move in the direction of the arrow 20, and at the same time the gate leaves 1, 2 and 3 are difficult to move forward and out of the door frame 4 in accordance with the arrows 21 (position indicated by broken lines in Figure 2) until they are finally parallel to each other and perpendicular to the level of the goal frame 4 on the building wall 7.

Der Krümmungsradius 27 ist größer als der Krümmungsradius 30.A profiled connecting rail 15 according to the innovation (see FIG. 3) consists of extruded aluminum. This connecting rail 15 has two cylinder walls 22, 22 'which are quarter-circular in cross section and two further cylinder walls 23, 23' which also have a quarter-circular cross-section. All cylinder walls 22, 22 'and 23, 23' extend in the longitudinal direction of the connecting rail 15 and they are connected to one another in pairs on their longitudinal edges. In the case of the cylinder walls 22, 22 ', this connection takes place through a continuous transition by means of a straight connecting piece 24, while the two cylinder walls 23, 23' form an acute-angled, narrow joint 25 with one another. The two cylinder walls 22 and 22 'have the same radius of curvature 27 on their outer side 26 and their centers of curvature 28 lie in the pivot axes 16 and 17. The other two cylinder walls 23 and 23' have a likewise corresponding radius of curvature 30 on their inner sides 29 and their centers of curvature 31 in turn lie in the pivot axes 16 and 17. The radius of curvature 27 is larger than the radius of curvature 30.

The two pairs of cylinder walls 22, 22 'and 23, 23' are spaced apart by webs 32, 32 'and 33, 33' (or their ends), which are arranged along the longitudinal sides 14 of the gate leaves 1, 2, 3 . These webs 32, 32'-, 33, 33 'are the U-legs of an extruded U-profile 34 made of aluminum, which forms both longitudinal sides 14 of each gate leaf 1, 2, 3 and to which the outer wall 10 and the inner wall 11 are fastened . The webs 32, 32 ', 33 and 33' accordingly apply to the outer wall 10 or the inner wall 11 of the gate leaves 1, 2, 3 and they lie essentially in the planes of the outer wall 10 and the inner wall 11. If the radius of curvature 30 becomes essential chosen smaller than the radius of curvature 27 and at the same time the joint 25 widened by a connecting piece (not shown), then it is readily possible that the distance between the webs 32 and 32 'and the webs 33 and 33' can be made the same size, which means that the front and back of the closed sliding folding door have an identical appearance.

The cylinder walls 22, 22 'and 23, 23' are connected to one another by transverse webs 35, which results in a cavity 36 between the cylinder walls 22, 22 'and 23, 23', in which insulating material 37 is provided.

Sealing tapes 38 are arranged along the free ends of the webs 32, 32 ', 33 and 33'. These are elongated, narrow brushes which are inserted or clamped in grooves (not shown).

Sealing pads 39 are attached to the inner walls 10 of the door leaves 1, 2, 3 and extend along the entire longitudinal side 14 of the door leaves 1, 2, 3. The cylinder walls 22, 23 'have a short, elongated end 40, with which they abut the sealing pads 39 in the closed position of the gate leaves 1, 2 and rest sealingly.

The hinges 19 used for the pivotable connection of the connecting rails 15 to the gate leaves .1, 2 or 3 are with their one hinge plate 41 on the transverse web 35 (or on its extension projecting beyond the cylinder wall 22), and with their other, the articulated pin 42 also surrounding hinge plate 43 screwed to a U-leg of the U-profile 34 or to the web 33. In another embodiment of this joint (which can be seen in FIG. 3 in the area of the cylinder wall 23 'and the web 33'), instead of the hinges on the Connecting rail 15 in the extension of the cross bar 35, a band 44 is formed, which carries a terminal, also molded hinge pin 45. This hinge pin 45 is rotatably seated in a hinge sleeve 46, which is formed on the outer wall (10) of the gate leaf 1, 2, 3 (or on the web 33 ') and carries a longitudinal slot 47 which has a central angle of at least ninety degrees. The hinge pin 45 is surrounded at several locations distributed over the long side 14 with a slotted bearing shell 48 made of plastic, which makes lubrication of this hinge unnecessary.
