Definitions
- the invention is based on a folding door suspended on a horizontal rail, the sections of which can be pivoted about a vertical axis during folding.
- the invention has for its object to design the gates mentioned in the introduction so that they can be opened and closed quickly with low driving forces. A fast-moving goal is therefore sought.
- the sections can be pivoted about an axis located centrally in relation to their width and essentially consist of a synthetic foam paneled on both sides.
- the opening process of the door can be accelerated by providing compression springs between adjacent sections, which are tensioned when the door is closed and at least overcome the breakaway forces of the door by relaxing.
- these compression springs act as brakes; they are tensioned during the closing process by the mass forces to be braked and can contribute to the pivoting of the sections when the gate is to be opened.
- the sections 1 of the gate have a width of 2 x X. Their longitudinal center axis is designated by 2. They also consist of a hard-set, specifically light plastic foam as the core body 3, which is covered at the front and rear with a foil or sheet-like panel 4 made of aluminum. At the ends of the sections 1 there are U-shaped profiles 5 as a border.
- Adjacent sections 1 are connected to hinge parts 7 by hinge parts 7 which are offset with respect to the longitudinal central axis, that is to say eccentric, in order to achieve a folding of the sections 1 in a known manner, as shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1.
- hinge parts 7 which are offset with respect to the longitudinal central axis, that is to say eccentric, in order to achieve a folding of the sections 1 in a known manner, as shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1.
- hollow rubber profiles 9 are fastened, which, in the undeformed state, are strongly arched when the door is folded, and are strongly pretensioned when the operating position (gate closed) is reached, so as to save energy.
- the rubber profiles 9 seek to separate the two sections 1 in the sense of the double arrow 1.
- the sections 1 are held in the center, that is to say half the width x, by a vertical bolt 11 which also lies in the longitudinal center axis 2.
- the mounting is carried out by means of indicated ball bearings 12.
- Each section 1 can thus be pivoted about the vertical axis determined by the bolt 11.
- the bolts 11 are each fastened at the bottom to a horizontal holder 16, which is provided at the top with three guide rollers 13 (located in the corners of an equilateral triangle), which with its circumferential circumferential groove 13 'into a horizontal guide rail 14 or into the laterally tapering end Engage edges 15 of this rail.
- the guide rail 14 is in turn fastened by retaining bolts 16 'in the lintel area under the ceiling.
- the sections 1 are pivoted by lever action on a section 1 by means of an electric motor.
- This pivoting takes place - supported by the prestressed spring in the form of the rubber profiles 9 - instantaneously; the sections 1 have a low weight due to the construction mentioned.
- a quick pivoting can be carried out because this takes place about the axis of the pin 11 mentioned.
- a tension spring 2o made of rubber or another self-damped elastomer is provided.
- One end of the tension spring 2o which extends essentially parallel to the guide rail 14 (in the tensioned state), is fastened to the side of the door opening, for example by a small bracket 21 or by fastening to a bolt 16 '.
- the other end of this tension spring 2o is fastened to the carriage lying at the front facing the bracket 21 or to the associated bolt 11 '.
- the tension spring 2o is dimensioned such that, when the door is open, it is about 1.5 to 3 times its unextended Has length.
- the tension spring 2o supports the opening movement because it engages the carriage lying in front or section 1 lying in front.
- the tension spring 2 0 relaxes with the further opening movement.
- the gate When the gate is closed, it can hang freely behind the gate or be held by rings or the like.
- the tension spring 2o is increasingly tensioned, whereby it has a damping effect and prevents a hard stop in the package position.
- console 21 can also be arranged further away from the door opening so that the tension spring 2o does not sag too much when the door is open.

Abstract
Description
The invention is based on a folding door suspended on a horizontal rail, the sections of which can be pivoted about a vertical axis during folding.
In the known folding gates of this type, the pivot axes of the sections essentially coincide with the side edges or the folding axes of the sections. As a result, certain comparatively large mass forces must be overcome, in particular to open the gate; the sections as a whole must be moved out of a plane which is determined by the closed gate.
The invention has for its object to design the gates mentioned in the introduction so that they can be opened and closed quickly with low driving forces. A fast-moving goal is therefore sought.
To achieve this object, according to the invention, the sections can be pivoted about an axis located centrally in relation to their width and essentially consist of a synthetic foam paneled on both sides.
Due to such a storage of the sections, only small inertia forces have to be overcome, in particular to open the gate; this effect is further supported by the construction of the sections mentioned. The sections are rigid but light. Small drive motors therefore enable the gate to be opened and closed comparatively quickly.
The opening process of the door can be accelerated by providing compression springs between adjacent sections, which are tensioned when the door is closed and at least overcome the breakaway forces of the door by relaxing. When the gate closes, these compression springs act as brakes; they are tensioned during the closing process by the mass forces to be braked and can contribute to the pivoting of the sections when the gate is to be opened.
Further details of the invention will be explained with reference to the drawing, in which exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown.

- 2 is a plan view of an articulation point connecting two adjacent sections of the folding door,
- Fig. 3 is a partial vertical section through a section in the area of its suspension on a horizontal ceiling rail and
- Fig. 4 is a plan view of the section of FIG. 3 in the area of its suspension.
The
The
The
The pivoting of a
In order to accelerate the process of closing the door, a tension spring 2o made of rubber or another self-damped elastomer is provided. One end of the tension spring 2o, which extends essentially parallel to the guide rail 14 (in the tensioned state), is fastened to the side of the door opening, for example by a
If the gate is opened, the tension spring 2o is increasingly tensioned, whereby it has a damping effect and prevents a hard stop in the package position.
If necessary. the
Otherwise, the tension spring 2o is dashed in Fig. 1 in the tensioned state and dotted in the relaxed state.
