1. Agent lubrifiant et réfrigérant pour le travail des métaux, caractérisé en ce qu'il contient en tant qu'additif un polyphosphate d'ammonium à longue chaîne de formule générale :

dans laquelle n est un nombre entier de 50 à 1 000, plus spécialement de 300 à 800, et R un groupe ammonium.
2. Agent lubrifiant et réfrigérant selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'une proportion allant jusqu'à 20% et plus spécialement jusqu'à 5 % des groupes ammonium du polyphosphate d'ammonium à longue chaine sont remplacés par l'hydrogène.
3. Agent lubrifiant et réfrigérant selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce qu'il contient le polyphosphate d'ammonium à longue chaîne en quantités de 0,1 à 30 % en poids, de préférence de 2 à 10 % en poids.
4. Agent lubrifiant et réfrigérant selon les revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce qu'on utilise le polyphosphate d'ammonium à longue chaîne en combinaison avec des substances tensioactives et/ou des agents antimousses et/ou des colorants et/ou des inhibiteurs de rouille et/ou des esters phosphatés.
