Abstract

La invención se refiere a una forma de dosificación oral de liberación sostenida para una entrega controlada de oxicodona de una vez al día que comprende: (a) un núcleo que comprende: (i) un agente osmótico, y (ii) oxicodona y una o más sales de adición ácida farmacéuticamente aceptables de la misma (del compuesto); (b) una membrana semipermeable que recubre el núcleo, y (c) un orificio de salida a través de la membrana semipermeable que comunica con el núcleo para permitir la liberación del compuesto hacia el medio; donde la forma de dosificación libera el compuesto durante un período prolongado de tiempo a una velocidad de liberación uniforme, de tal manera que la velocidad promedio de liberación por hora desde el núcleo varía positivamente o negativamente por no más de aproximadamente 30%, ya sea desde la velocidad promedio de liberación por hora precedente o subsiguiente durante un período de tiempo DT uniforme que empieza con el tiempo cuando la liberación acumulativa del compuesto desde el núcleo alcanza aproximadamente 25% y que finaliza con el tiempo cuando la liberación acumulativa del compuesto del núcleo alcanza el 75%.
