Способ выпуска шлака из стационарной печи включает следующие операции: формирование на стационарной печи выпускного отверстия для удаления из нее шлака, забивка указанного выпускного отверстия глиной или глинистой массой, пробуривание летки через глину или глинистую массу в выпускном отверстии для формирования летки, обеспечивающую возможность вытекания шлака, причем диаметр летки, пробуренной через глину или глинистую массу, значительно меньше ширины выпускного отверстия, и управления потоком шлака через летку путем регулирования размера летки.
