Claims (15)
1. Fremgangsmåde til udførelse af en input/output (I/0)-operation iværksat af en I/O-operationsinstruktion ved et værtscomputersystem (102) konfigureret til kommunikation med en styreenhed (118), hvilken fremgangsmåde omfatter at: sende, ad et kanal-undersystem (114) i værtscomputersystemet, en proces-login (PRLI) anmodningsmeddelelse til styreenheden for at initialisere et link mellem kanalundersystemet og styreenheden, idet PRLI- anmodningsmeddelelsen (400) omfatter et felt med en værdi der indikerer hvorvidt kanal undersystemet understøtter tovejs-overførsel af data; modtage en PRLI-svarmeddelelse (420) fra styreenheden, idet PRLI-svarmeddelelsen omfatter et felt med en værdi der indikerer hvorvidt styreenheden understøtter tovejs-overførsel af data; tilvejebringe en indikation til et værtsoperationssystem om at tovejs-overførsel af data understøttes; og som reaktion på udførelse af I/O-operationsinstruktionen modtaget fra værtscomputersystemet, udføre en fremgangsmåde omfattende: samle en flerhed af kommandoer (202) forbundet med I/O-operationsinstruktionen modtaget fra værtscomputersystemet, idet mindst én af flerheden af kommandoer specificerer en inputdata-overførsel og mindst én af flerheden af kommandoer specificerer en output-dataoverførsel ; overføre flerheden af kommandoer til styreenheden; sende mindst én outputdata-meddelelse til styreenheden omfattende outputdata der skal overføres til styreenheden, hvilken outputdata-meddelelse er forbundet med mindst én af flerheden af kommandoer der specificerer en output-dataoverførsel; og modtage mindst én input-meddelelse fra styreenheden omfattende inputdata der skal lagres i et hovedlager (106) af værtscomputersystemet, hvilken inputdatameddelelse er forbundet med den mindst ene af flerheden af kommandoer der specificerer en input dataoverførsel.
2. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 1, hvor flerheden af kommandoer er en flerhed af indretnings-kommandoord (DCW) (202) der hver er forbundet med en I/O-kommando, og at samle omfatter opnåelse af et transport-kommandoord (TCW) (140) ved kanal undersystemet i værtscomputersystemet for I/O-operationen, TCW'en omfatter en transport-kommandoblok (TCCB) adressefelt (148) omfattende en adresse for en TCCB (170) i værtscomputersystemets hovedlager, idetTCCB'en omfatter flerheden af DCW'er, mindst én af DCW'erne specificerer en inputdata-overførsel og mindst én af DCW'erne specificerer en output-data-overførsel.
3. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 2, hvor overførsel af flerheden af kommandoer omfatter overførsel af TCCB'en omfattende flerheden af DCW'er til styreenheden.
4. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 3, hvor indikationen er konfigureret til at specificere hvorvidt en første overførselsklar blokeret tilstand foreligger, og fremgangsmåden yderligere omfatter: som svar på at den første overførselsklare blokerede tilstand foreligger, sende den mindst ene outputdata-meddelelse til styreenheden efterfulgt af overførsel af TCCB'en og forud for modtagelse mindst én meddelelse fra styreenheden; og som svar på at den første overførselsklare blokerede tilstand ikke foreligger, modtage den mindst ene meddelelse fra styreenheden før der sendes den mindst ene outputdatameddelelse.
5. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 4, hvor meddelelsen fra styreenheden omfatter en af en overførselsklar meddelelse som anmoder om at kanalundersystemet sender outputdata- og input-datameddelelserne.
6. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 2, hvor TCCB'en er omfattet i en transportkommandoinformationsenhed (IU) (172) sendt til styreenheden, idet transportkommandoen IU omfatter en transportkommandoheader (TCH) (176), idetTCH'en omfatter et felt der indikerer hvorvidt kanalundersystemet anmoder om tovejs-overførsel af data.
7. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 6, hvor TCCB'en omfatter et skrivedatalængde (DL)-felt (186) der specificerer en mængde af outputdata der skal overføres og et tovejs-læsedatalængde (BRDL)-felt (188) der specificerer en mængde af inputdata der skal overføres.
8. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 7, yderligere omfattende, som svar på at styreenheden ikke understøtter tovejs-dataoperationer, modtage en transport-svarmeddelelse (330) fra styreenheden der indikerer at I/O-operationen er afsluttet, idet transport-svarmeddelelsen omfatter en TCH-fejlindholdsindikation som reaktion på mindst én af: styreenheden detekterer at en læse (R) (192) bit og en skrive (W) (194) bit i TCH'en er begge sat til en og atTCCB'en ikke omfatter BRDL'en; og styreenheden detekterer at R-bit'en og W-bit'en begge er sat til en og styreenheden ikke understøtter tovejs-overførsel af data.
9. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 7, hvor fremgangsmåden yderligere omfatter modtagelse af en transport-svarmeddelelse (330) fra styreenheden der indikerer at I/O-operationen er afsluttet, og transport-svarmeddelelsen omfatter: et Data Længde Rest-tal (DLRC)-felt (340) der specificerer en forskel mellem en DL-feltværdi i TCCB'en og en mængde outputdata modtaget af styreenheden; og et BRDL-rest-tal (342) der specificerer en forskel mellem en BRDL-feltværdi i TCCB'en og en mængde inputdata sendt af styreenheden.
10. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 9, hvor kanalundersystemet detekterer en fejl som svar på mindst én af: en DLRC-værdi der ikke matcher en forskel mellem DL-feltværdien i TCCB'en og en mængde outputdata sendt til styreenheden; og en BRDL-rest-tal-værdi der ikke matcher en forskel mellem BRDL'-felt-værdien og en mængde inputdata modtaget fra styreenheden.
11. Fremgangsmåden ifølge krav 2, hvor PRLI-anmodningsmeddelelsen (400) indikerer en anmodning til styreenheden om at indikere hvorvidt styreenheden understøtter en transportmodusprotokol, hvilken transportmodusprotokol understøtter anvendelsen af TCW'en og TCCB'en, og PRLI-svarmeddelelsen omfatter et felt der indikerer hvorvidt styreenheden understøtter transportmodusprotokollen.
12. Computerprogramprodukt til at udføre en input/output (I/0)-operation iværksat af en I/O-operationsinstruktion ved et værtscomputersystem (102) konfigureret til kommunikation med en styreenhed (118), hvilket computerprogramprodukt omfatter: et materielt lagermedium læsbart af et beoperationskredsløb (104) og lagrende instruktioner til udførelse af beoperationskredsløbet til udførelse af en fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1 til 11.
13. Apparat til at udføre en input/output (I/0)-operation iværksat af en I/O-operationsinstruktion ved et værtscomputersystem (102) konfigureret til kommunikation med en styreenhed (118), hvilket værtcomputersystem er konfigureret til at udføre at: sende, ad et kanal-undersystem (114) i værtscomputersystemet, en proces-login (PRLI)-anmodningsmeddelelse (400) til styreenheden for at initialisere et link mellem kanalundersystemet og styreenheden, hvilken PRLI-anmodningsmeddelelse omfatter et felt med en værdi der indikerer hvorvidt kanalundersystemet understøtter tovejs-overførsel af data; modtage en PRLI-svarmeddelelse (420) fra styreenheden, hvilken PRLI-svarmeddelelse omfatter et felt med en værdi der indikerer hvorvidt styreenheden understøtter tovejs-overførsel af data; tilvejebringe en indikation til et værtsoperationssystem om at tovejs-overførsel af data understøttes; og som svar på at udføre I/O-operationsinstruktionen modtaget fra værtscomputersystemet, udføre en fremgangsmåde omfattende at: samle en flerhed af kommandoer (202) forbundet med I/O-operationsinstruktionen modtaget fra værtscomputersystemet, mindst én af flerheden af kommandoer specificerer en inputdata-overførsel og mindst én af flerheden af kommandoer specificerer en output-data-overførsel; overføre flerheden af kommandoer til styreenheden; sende mindst én outputdata-meddelelse til styreenheden omfattende outputdata der skal overføres til styreenheden, hvilken outputdata-meddelelse er forbundet med den mindst ene af flerheden af kommandoer der specificerer en output-dataoverførsel; og modtage mindst én input-meddelelse fra styreenheden omfattende inputdata der skal lagres i et hovedlager (106) af værtscomputersystemet, hvilken inputdatameddelelse er forbundet med den mindst ene af flerheden af kommandoer der specificerer en input data overførsel.
14. Apparatet ifølge krav 13, hvor flerheden af kommandoer er en flerhed af indretningskommandoord (DCW) (202) der hver er forbundet med en I/O-kommando, og at samle omfatter opnåelse af et transport-kommandoord (TCW) (140) ved kanalundersystemet i værtscomputersystemet for I/O-operationen, TCW'en omfatter et transport-kommandoblok (TCCB)-adressefelt (148) omfattende en adresse for etTCCB (170) i værtscomputersystemets hovedlager, idet TCCB'en omfatter flerheden af DCW'er, idet mindst én af DCW'erne specificerer en inputdata-overførsel og mindst én af DCW'erne der specificerer output-data-overførsel.
15. Apparatet ifølge krav 14, hvor indikationen er konfigureret til at specificere hvorvidt en første overførselsklar blokeret tilstand foreligger, og hvilket værtcomputersystem er konfigureret til yderligere at udføre: som svar på at den første overførselsklare blokerede tilstand foreligger, sende den mindst ene outputdata-meddelelse til styreenheden efterfulgt af overførsel af TCCB'en og forud for modtagelse af mindst én meddelelse fra styreenheden; og som svar på at den første overførselsklare blokerede tilstand ikke foreligger, modtage den mindst ene meddelelse fra styreenheden før den mindst ene outputdatameddelelse sendes.
