Den foreliggende opfindelse angår et hårfarvningsmiddel indeholdende svovl og et vismutcitrat-kompleks. Hårfarvningsmidlet har flydende form og er relativt stabilt i denne form. Når det påføres f.eks. menneskehår, farves 5 håret gradvis mørkere i brune nuancer.
Det er f.eks. kendt fra US patentskrift nr. 2.719.104 at opnå lyse gule farver af keratinholdige materialer, idet disse farver opnås ved anvendelse af et vandopløseligt salt af vismut, nemlig vismutnitrat. Til opnåelse af brune farver 10 ifølge denne kendte teknik farves hvidt uldgarn med blandinger af vismut- og nikkelsalte, og dybden af den brune farve kontrolleres ved at variere forholdet mellem vandopløselige vismutsalte, der giver den lyse gule farve, og vandopløselige nikkelsalte, der giver en dybbrun farve.
15 Det er også kendt fra F. Winter, "Handbuch der
Gesamten Parfumerie und Kosmetik", 4. og 5. udg., 1949, Springer-Verlag, Wien, side 639, at hårfarvningspræparater kan fremstilles ved at blande vismutcitrat med vand, tilsætte ammoniak, indtil der sker opløsning, og derefter iblan-20 de svovl. Når hår behandles med disse kendte præparater af vismutcitrat og ammoniak og derefter shamponeres, sker der et væsentligt farvetab. Dette farvetab skyldes, at anvendelsen af vismutammoniumcitrat resulterer i et produkt, der blot udplades på hårstrået.
25 Det har nu ifølge den foreliggende opfindelse vist sig, at et hårfarvningsmiddel indeholdende svovl og reaktionsproduktet af vismutcitrat og triethanolamin i et vandigt medium, når det påføres menneskehår, resulterer i tiltalende brune nuancer, der er betydelig mere hold-30 bare, idet de i væsentlig ringere omfang fjernes ved en shamponering.
Opfindelsen angår således et hårfarvningsmiddel indeholdende svovl og et vandopløseligt reaktionsprodukt af vismutcitrat og en nitrogenforbindelse i et vandigt me-35 dium, hvilket hårfarvningsmiddel er ejendommeligt ved, at nitrogenforbindelsen er triethanolamin.

Det her omhandlede hårfarvningsmiddels konstitution kan ikke beskrives med sikkerhed, men det antages, at der dannes en slags kompleks mellem vismutcitrat, triethanol-amin og svovl.
5 Det er ligeledes uvist, hvorfor det her omhandlede middel resulterer i brun farvning af hår, idet det ifølge USA-patentskrift nr. 2.719.104 måtte forventes, at vismutsalte ville resultere i fremstilling af lysegule farver, når de påføres hår.
10 Vismutcitrat, som er en af de væsentlige komponenter i det her omhandlede hidtil ukendte middel, er vanduopløse-ligt, hvilket også er tilfældet med svovl, en anden væsentlig komponent. Den tredje væsentlige komponent i det her omhandlede middel, triethanolamin, har vist sig at virke 15 som et kompleksdannende materiale, når den bringes i kontakt med vismutcitrat, hvilket resulterer i en opløsning. Denne opløsning er helt stabil i opløst form og i nærværelse af svovl, dvs. i en flaske eller anden beholder, uden at der sker nogen uønsket udfældning. Ved påføring på håret sker der 20 en eller anden form for kemisk reaktion påvirket af hårets keratine natur og de forskellige produkter, som til dels er naturligt manifesteret i håret, f.eks. olier, hvorved håret gøres mørkere i brune nuancer.
Hårfarvningsmidlet indeholder fortrinsvis 0,25 dele 25 svovl og et produkt, som er fremkommet ved at omsætte 0,25 dele vismutcitrat med 3,0 dele triethanolamin.
Ved fremstilling af det her omhandlede hidtil ukendte hårfarvningsmiddel gås der især frem på følgende måde: I en hensigtsmæssig beholder blandes triethanolamin, propy-30 lenglycol, alkohol og vand, og dertil sættes vismutcitrat og polyvinylpyrrolidon. Hele blandingen opvarmes derpå langsomt, indtil der er opnået en klar opløsning. I mellemtiden fremstilles en blanding af svovl og et befugtningsmid-del ved at formale svovl, befugtningsmiddel og vand i en 35 separat beholder, indtil svovlet er reduceret til et fint pulver. Efter at den førstnævnte ovenfor beskrevne klare o 3 147123 opløsning er afkølet til stuetemperatur, sættes den formalede blanding af svovl, befugtningsmiddel og vand hertil.
Det resulterende middel er derpå klart til anvendelse ved påføring på håret.
5 For at forklare den her omhandlede opfindelse nær mere angives nedenfor et specifikt eksempel, der illustrerer en umiddelbart foretrukken udførelsesform for den foreliggende opfindelse.

De ovenfor nævnte bestanddele optages i det her omhandlede middel på følgende måde: 70% af de 75,68 dele vand afmåles i en tilstrækkelig stor rustfri stålkeddel. Propylenglycol, triethanolamin og alkohol sættes derpå til 25 vandet. Vismutcitrat og polyvinylpyrrolidon tilsættes derpå langsomt under omrøring. Hele blandingen opvarmes derefter langsomt, indtil der opnås en klar opløsning (45°C til 50°C)..
I en separat beholder formales svovl, "Triton" X 100 ® (reaktionsprodukt af octylphenol og ethylenoxid) og den 30 tilbageblivende portion vand, indtil svovlet er reduceret til et ensartet og fint pulver. Hvis det ønskes at iblande en parfume, sættes denne til "Triton" X 100® før formaling med svovl. Den oprindelige vandopløsning afkøles, og den tidligere beskrevne formalede pulverblanding tilsæt-35 tes under omrøring.
