Description
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Verwendung l>estimmt zusammengesetzter Flüssigkeiten
in hydraulischen Vorrichtungen zur Übertragung und Aufnahme von Kräften, wie z. B. in
Stoßdämpfern, Bremsvorrichtungen, Rohrrückläufen, Heißwinden und Türdämpfern.
An flüssigkeiten, die mit Erfolg sowohl für Druckübertragung als auch Druckaufnahme dienen
sollen, werden bestimmte Anforderungen gestellt. Sie müssen sowohl chemisch als auch physikalisch
stabil sein, d. h. sie dürfen mit den in Kontakt kommenden Materialien, wie Behältern oder Aggregaten
nicht reagieren, d. h. Korrosion von Metallen hervorrufen oder Quellung von Gummiteilen bewirken.
Darüber hinaus sollte die Viskosität solcher Flüssigkeiten sich in tragbaren Grenzen über ein
weites Temperaturbereich halten, ohne zur Vergasung oder Verfestigung bei hohen bzw. tiefen
Temperaturen zu neigen.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Druckübertragungsflüssigkeiten
entsprechen diesen Erfordernissen, so daß sie ein weites Anwendungsbereich unter extrem wechselnden Arbeitsbedingungen
besitzen.
Zum besseren Verständnis der Erfindung dienen neben der Beschreibung auch graphische Darstellungen.
Auf Tafel 1 sind auf dem doppellogarithmierten
Viskositätstemperaturblatt die verschiedenen kinematischen Viskositäten von flüssigen, hochpolymeren
Dimethylsiloxanen aufgezeichnet.
Auf Tafel 2 sind zum Vergleich die Viskositätsterriperaturgrade einer Reihe von hochwertigen
Hydraulikölen, wie sie unter dem Handelsnamen Univis verkauft werden, aufgetragen.
Auf Tafel 3 sind die kinematischen Viskositäten von verschiedenen flüssigen, hochpolymeren Methylsiloxanen
gezeigt, die ein C : Si Verhältnis von 1.90 besitzen.
Auf Tafel 4 sind die Viskositätstemperaturgrade einiger flüssiger Siloxane, die den Gegenstand der
Erfindung bilden, aufgezeichnet.
Es wurde gefunden, daß flüssige Siloxanpolymerisate Eigenschaften besitzen, die sie besonders
als Hydrauliköle geeignet machen. Sie zeichnen sich besonders aus durch relativ geringe Viskositätsänderung
über ein weites Temperaturbereich, niedrigen Stockpunkt, hohen Flammpunkt, geringe
Verdampfbarkeit. Sie sind wenig hygroskopisch, wenig oder nicht korrosiv oder zersetzend auf Metall
oder Gummi, wenig oder nicht vergasend oder erstarrend l>ei hohen bzw. niedrigen Temperaturen.

Beanspruchung wenig oder überhaupt nicht angegriffen.
Die erfindungsgemäßen, flüssigen Siloxanpolymerisate sind Verbindungen, die organische Radikale
mit Hilfe von C-Atomen amSi-Atom gebunden halxMi und deren Si-Atome untereinander durch
O-Atome, wie z. B. Si-O-Si, verkettet sind. Sie können entweder durch Hydrolyse hvdrolysierbarer
Silane und Kondensation der Hydrolysierungsprodukte oder durch Hydrolyse einer Mischung verschiedener
hydrolysierbarer Silane und Kondensation dieser Hydrolysierungsprodukte hergestellt
werden. Unter hydrolysierbaren Silanen sollen Derivate von Si H4 verstanden werden, die die allgemeine
Formel R3, Si X4-^, besitzen, worin X ein
hydrolysierbares Atom oder Gruppe, z. B. Halogen, Amino, Alkoxy, Aroxy oder Acyloxy; y die
Zahlen 1, 2 oder 3 und. R ein organisches Radikal, das durch eines seiner C-Atome am Si-Atom gebunden
ist, l>edeuten. Beispiele für diese organischen Radikale sind Methyl, Äthyl, Propy 1, Isopropyl,
Butyl, Amyl, Hexyl, Heptyl bis Octadecyl und
höhere; alicyclische Radikale, wie Cyclopentyl, Cyclohexyl usw.; Aryl und Alkaryl Radikale, wie
Phenyl, Mono- und Polyalkylphenyl, wie Tolyl, Xylyl, Mesityl, Mono-, Di- und Triäthylphenyl,
Mono-, Di- und Tripropylphenyl usw., Naphthyl, Mono- und Polyalkylnaphthyle, wie Methylnaphthyl,
Diäthylnaphthyl, Tripropylnaphthy! usw.; Tetrahydronaphthyl,
Anthracyl usw.; Aralkyl, wie Benzyl, Phenyläthyl usw.; Alkenyl, wie Methallyl, Allyl usw. Die angeführten organischen Radikale
können auch anorganische Substituenten, wie ?.. B. Halogen usw., enthalten.
Solche Siloxane können zu flüssigen Siloxanen durch Hydrolyse und Kondensation in Gegenwart
eines Säurekatalysators umgewandelt werden, obwohl auch noch andere Verfahren zur Anwendung
gelangen können. Siloxanpolymerisate können aus reinen Verbindungen entsprechend der Formel
R2SiX2 gewonnen werden und stellen Mischungen
von verschiedenen Molekulargrößen dar. Die durchschnittliche Verteilung von höheren oder niederen
molekularen Größen hängt von den Hydrolysierungsbedingungen, Art und Prozentsatz des verw-endeten
Katalysators und des verwendeten Lösungsmittels ab.
Die flüssigen Siloxanpolymerisate können durch Hydrolyse und Kondensation von zwei Vertretern
hydrolysierbarer Silane, wie z.B. Ri,SiX(4.y) und
R1, SiX (4-y/) hergestellt werden, worin R die
gleichen oder verschiedene organische Radikale, die durch C-Atome an das Si-Atom gebunden sind,
X ein hydrolysierbares, oben näher bezeichnetes Radikal und ν und v' Zahlen 1, 2 und 3 bedeuten.
Dabei wird vorgezogen, daß in solchen Siloxanpolymerisaten die Summe von ν und y nicht
weniger als 1,75 ist. Wenn y und/oder y' = 3 ist, dann entstehen einfach Äther des Typus
R3SiOSiR3.
Auf Grund ihrer thermischen Stabilität sind die flüssigen, völlig polymerisiert«! Siloxane als
Druckübertragungs- und Druckaufnahmeflüssigkeit in hydraulischen Aggregaten vorzuziehen. Aber
auch teilweise polymerisierte flüssige Siloxane können für bestimmte Anwendungsgebiete gebraucht
werden, l>esonders dort, wo kein Temperaturanstieg eintritt, um eine weitere Kondensation oder Polymerisation
zu bewirken. Durch Zusatz von Stabilisatoren, wie p-Aminophenol, Monobenzyl-paminophenol,
a-Xaphthol, /?-X'aphtho<l, Dibenzylp-aminophenol,
Pyrogallol, Diphenylamin usw., kann eine weitere Polymerisation von nicht stabilen
Siloxanen verhindert werden.
Wenn auch, wie t>ereits beschneien, die flüssigen
Siloxane für sich allein als Hydrauliköl bestens geeignet sind, so können sie auch in Beimischung
oder in Verbindung mit einem oder mehreren organischen Verdünnungsmitteln zur Anwendung
gelangen. Sie können auch zu handelsüblichen Hydraulikölen oder Schmierölen in verschiedenen
Mengen, je nach dem gewünschten Wirkungsgrad, zugesetzt werden. Dabei können auch organische
Verdünnungsmittel mitverwendet werden.
In den folgenden Beispielen werden einige Hydrauliköle beschrieben, da gerade diese flüssigen
Siloxane besonders erwünschte Eigenschaften besitzen.
Ein polymeres flüssiges Dimethylsiloxan wird durch Destillation bis 250J, bei 10 mm Vakuum,
unter Durchleiten von CO., von niedrigen Polymeren befreit. Der Flammpunkt im offenen Tiegel
des im Vakuum abgekühlten und filtrierten Restöls liegt dann über 3150, meist bei 330°. Das öl ist
farblos, geruchlos und inert, wirkt nicht korrodierend auf Metalle, quillt oder zerstört weder
natürlichen noch synthetischen Gummi und andere Konstruktionsmaterialien, wie Rohre usw. Es können
auf diese Weise Flüssigkeiten verschiedener
Viskosität erhalten werden, die je nach individuellen Anforderungen als Hydrauliköle eingesetzt
werden können, wie die Tafel ι zeigt. Alle flüssigen Dimethylsiloxane, die durch Hydrolyse des reinen
(CH3)2 Si(OC2H5)2 hergerstellt werden, haben den
gleichen Stock- bzw. Schmelzpunkt, d. h. — 400, obwohl sie durch Unterkühlung bis auf — 6o° abgekühlt
werden können, ohne zu erstarren.
Die geringe Viskositätsänderung bei Temperaturschwankungen, der niedrige Erstarrungspunkt, die
Trägheit gegenüber Metallen, Gummi und anderen Konstruktionsmaterialien im weitesten Temperaturbereich,
der hohe Flammpunkt und die geringe Verdampfbarkeit sind die hervortretendsten Eigenschaften,
die diese hochpolymeren flüssigen Dimethylsiloxane als Hydrauliköl im Flugwesen besonders
geeignet erscheinen lassen.
In der folgenden Tabelle ist das Viskositätstemperaturverhalten von einem flüssigen, hochpolymeren
Dimethylsiloxan einem auf Erdölbasis aufgebauten hochwertigen Hydrauliköl gegenübergestellt.
Beide öle haben bei 37,78° die gleiche Viskosität.

Besonders im Flugwesen kommt bei Hydraulik-(ilen der geringen Veränderung der Viskosität bei
Temperaturschwankungen besondere Bedeutung zu, da die Stoßdämpfer auch noch weich arbeiten
müssen, wenn eine Maschine aus großer Höhe, wo Temperaturen von — 40° herrschen, auf einem
Platz, auf dem das Thermometer + 40° und darüber hinaus anzeigt, landen will. Auch unter tropischen
Flugbedingungen, wo hohe Temperaturen nel>en hoher Feuchtigkeit herrschen, ist die Unlöslichkeit
der flüssigen hochpolymeren Siloxane in Wasser von großer Bedeutung. Ihre Fähigkeit, das
-Viederschlagen von Schwitzwasser auf Oberflächen, mit denen sie in Berührung stehen, zu verhindern,
unterbindet eine Feuchtigkeitsansammlung, die zu einem Festsitzen der Apparatur führen kann, wenn
in großer Höhe dieses Schwitzwasser gefriert.
Durch Hydrolyse einer Mischung von 90 Mol (C H3)2Si (OC2H5)2 und 10 Mol (CH3)Si
(OC9H5)., werden Flüssigkeiten erhalten, die, wie
im Beispiel 1 beschrieben, bis 2500 bei 10 mm
Vakuum von den niedrigen Polymerisaten befreit werden. Diese Flüssigkeiten haben etwa folgende
empirische Formel:
(CH3),, SiO 4-j,, worin y = 1,9 ist.
Die kinematischen Viskositäten dieser flüssigen Monornethyldimethylsiloxanpolymerisate liegen im
allgemeinen niedriger als die der polymeren Dimethylsiloxane; die anderen Eigenschaften sind aber
sehr ähnlich, nur liegt der Erstarrungspunkt bei — 850.
In Tabelle 2 werden die Viskositäten eines hochpolymerisierten flüssigen Siloxans, das ein Verhältnis
von 1,9 Methylgruppen pro Si-Atom besitzt, und eines hochwertigen Hydrauliköls, das auf Erdölbasis
aufgebaut ist, gegenübergestellt.

Flüssige Polymerisate, die durch Hydrolyse einer Mischung aus 3 Mol (CH3)3Si(OC2H5) und
97 Mol (CH3)2Si (O C2H5)2 gewonnen werden,
werden unter 25 mm Vakuum bis 2500 destilliert. Der Rückstand an hochpolymerisiertem öl wird
gekühlt, filtriert und hat dann eine Viskosität von 58 cSt bei 250 und einen Flammpunkt von 1960.
Dieses öl weist alle Eigenschaften des Dimethylsiloxans auf, erstarrt jedoch noch nicht, wenn es
der Temperatur von Kohlensäureschnee ausgesetzt wird. Eine Gegenüberstellung der Viskosität dieser
hochpolymerisierten Flüssigkeit und eines Hydrauliköls auf Erdölbasis ist in Tabelle 3 gegeben.

Ein nach Beispiel 1 aus Diäthyldiäthoxysilan hergestelltes flüssiges, hochpolymerisiertes Siloxan
mit den gleichen, in vorgenannten Beispielen beschriebenen Eigenschaften wird in Tabelle 4 einem
auf Erdölbasis hergestellten Hydrauliköl gegenübergestellt.

Ein flüssiges Siloxanpolymerisat, das 10 Mol ao Struktureinheiten (C6H5) -Si-O und 90 Mol
(C2H5)

bedeuten. Demgegenüber hat das unter der Bezeichnung GuIf Pride 40 erhältliche Standard
Hydrauliköl einen Stockpunkt von — 190 und einen Viskositätstemperaturabfall von über 2000.
Die Viskosität dieses Siloxans beträgt 350 cSt bei o°, die chemischen Eigenschaften sind die gleichen
wie bei den bisher beschriebenen Siloxanen.
Ein flüssiges Siloxanpolymerisat, das 10 Mol C5H11-Si-O und 90 Mol CH3-Si-O
C5H11 CH3
Struktureinheiten besitzt, hat einen Erstarrungspunkt von — 45° und einen Viskositätstemperaturabfall
von 1300 zwischen ο und ioo°. Bei o° hat
dieses Siloxan eine Viskosität von 285 cSt, und seine chemischen Eigenschaften entsprechen denen
der bisher beschriebenen öle.
Eine Gegenüberstellung der Viskositäten der in den Beispielen 5 und 6 beschriebenen Siloxane mit
denen eines auf Erdölbasis aufgebauten Hydrauliköls wird in Tabelle 5 gegeben.

Ein flüssiges Phenyldimethylsiloxanpolymerisat [C6H5) (CHg)2Si]2O mit einem Erstarrungspunkt
von — 760 und einem Viskositätstemperaturgefälle von 1280 zwischen ο und ioo° ist gegenüber
weiterer Polymerisation, wie auch alle anderen beschriebenen Siloxane, sehr beständig. Solche
völlig substituierten Disiloxane besitzen Eigenschaften, die sie besonders als Hydrauliköle geeignet
erscheinen lassen.
Die erfindungsgemäßen flüssigen Siloxane sind hervorragend geeignet für die Druckübertragung
bzw. Druckaufnahme in hydraulischen oder ähnlichen Aggregaten, deren befriedigende Arbeitsweise
davon abhängt, daß eine viskose Flüssigkeit unter veränderlichen Bedingungen einen konstanten
Widerstand beim Durchfließen durch schmale öffnungen ergibt. Eines der hervorstechendsten
Vorteile eines flüssigen Siloxans als Hydrauliköl liegt in der Möglichkeit, die Viskosität einer
gegebenen Mischung durch das Ausmaß der Polymerisation so zu steuern, daß ein einziges Siloxan
in einer Mehrzahl von hydraulischen Aggregaten zur Anwendung gelangen kann, in denen bisher
Flüssigkeiten mit verschiedenen Viskositäten gebraucht wurden. Unter Berücksichtigung dieses
Punktes wurden flüssige Siloxane hergestellt, deren Viskositätsbereich zwischen 1 bis Va cSt bis über
100 000 cSt reicht. Anwendungsgebiete dieser Siloxanole sind hydraulische Druckaggregate,
hydraulische Kupplungen, Stoßdämpfer, Bremszylinder, Vibrationsdämpfer, Rohrrücklauf, Hebewinden,
Türdämpfer usw., kurz gesagt, hydraulische Aggregate, in denen eine Flüssigkeit dazu dient,
Bewegungen von Maschinenteilen, wie Kolben und Überströmkammern, auszuführen.
Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch:Verwendung von flüssigen, völlig polymerisierten Siloxanen, deren Kohlenwasserstoffradikale vornehmlich Alkylradikale mit weniger als 3 C-Atomen und Phenylradikale sind, als Hydraulik- und Vibrationsdämpfungsöle.Hierzu 2 Blatt Zeichnungen2779 1.
