Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung. Genauer betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung, die eine starke Haftung an einer Vielzahl von Substraten entwickelt, z.B. Glas, Kunststoffen, Metallen usw., wenn sie gehärtet wird, während sie in Kontakt mit dem Substrat ist (Kontakthärtung) und außerdem diese Haftung in einer frühen Stufe der Härtung entwickelt, wobei diese Haftung äußerst dauerhaft ist, um einer feindlichen Umgebung, z.B. Eintauchen in heißes Wasser usw., zu widerstehen.
- Mayuzumi et al. beschreiben in U.S. Patent Nr. 3 837 876, ausgegeben am 24. September 1974 und Joseph et al. beschreiben in U.S. Patent Nr. 4 602 078, ausgegeben am 22. Juli 1986, Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzungen, die an einer Vielzahl von Substraten durch Kontakthärtung haften. Diese Zusammensetzungen bestehen aus Organopolysiloxanen mit Hydroxylendgruppen, Aminoalkylalkoxysilan/Epoxyalkylalkoxysilanmischungen oder einem Reaktionsprodukt davon und einem Härtungskatalysator. Jedoch wird die Haftung der Siliconkautschuke, die durch die Härtung dieser Zusammensetzungen geliefert werden, bei Kontakt mit Wasser zerstört. Insbesondere wird die Haftungsfestigkeit gegenüber Floatglas während des Angriffs durch eine feindliche Umgebung, z.B. durch Eintauchen in heißes Wasser und dgl., zerstört.
- Die Erfinder führten intensive Untersuchungen aus, die darauf gerichtet waren, die oben beschriebenen Probleme zu lösen. Als Ergebnis fanden sie, daß eine äußerst dauerhafte Haftung erhalten wird bei einer bei Raumtemperatur härtbaren Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung, die eine Reaktionsmischung aus einem Aminoalkylalkoxysilan/Epoxyalkylalkoxysilan und eine Harzsäure ein schließlich Colophonium enthielt. Es wurde jedoch gefunden, daß in der frühen Stufe der Härtung diese Zusammensetzung nur langsam eine Haftfestigkeit für bestimmte Substrate entwickelt. Daher setzten die Erfinder ihre Forschungen fort und konnten die vorliegende Erfindung als Ergebnis erreichen.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung hat die Aufgabe, eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung mit einer höchst dauerhaften Haftung einzuführen, die eine ausgezeichnete früh härtende Haftung für eine Vielzahl von Substraten entwikkelt, z.B. Glas, Kunststoff und Metall durch Kontakthärtung und die härtet unter Bildung eines äußerst wasserresistenten Siliconkautschuks, der die Bindungsfestigkeit sehr lange aufrechterhält, auch wenn er einer feindlichen Umgebung, z.B. dem Eintauchen in heißes Wasser, ausgesetzt wird.
- Die Erfindung betrifft eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung, die
- (A) 100 Gewichtsteile eines Organopolysiloxans mit Hydroxylendgruppen oder Alkoxyendgruppen mit einer Viskosität bei 25ºC im Bereich von 0,000020 bis 1 m²/s,
- (B) 1 bis 300 Gewichtsteile anorganischen Füllstoff,
- (C) 0,1 bis 10 Gewichtsteile Harzester, der ein Veresterungsprodukt aus Colophonium und einem Polyol ist,
- (D) 0,5 bis 30 Gewichtsteile einer Reaktionsmischung aus Aminoalkylalkoxysilan und Epoxyalkylalkoxysilan und
- (E) 0,001 bis 10 Gewichtsteile Härtungskatalysator umfaßt.
- Das Organopolysiloxan der Komponente (A), das erfindungsgemäß verwendet wird, ist die Haupt- oder Basiskomponente der Zusammensetzung. Das Organopolysiloxan muß am Ende Hydroxylgruppen oder Alkoxygruppen tragen. Wenn die Viskosität zu gering ist, ist die Elastizität des Kautschuks nach dem Härten schlecht. Andererseits wird die Verarbeitbarkeit behindert, wenn die Viskosität zu hoch ist. Aus diesem Grunde muß die Viskosität bei 25ºC in einem Bereich von 0,000020 bis 1 m²/s (Quadratmeter pro Sekunde) liegen, während der bevorzugte Viskositätsbereich 0,0001 bis 0,1 m²/s ist. Dieses Organopolysiloxan hat vorzugsweise eine geradkettige Molekülstruktur, aber eine mäßig verzweigte Kette ist auch verwendbar.
- Die organischen Gruppen in diesem Organopolysiloxan sind beispielsweise Alkylgruppen, wie Methyl-, Ethyl-, Propyl-, Butylund Octylgruppen; Alkenylgruppen, wie Vinyl-, Allyl- und Hexenylgruppen; Arylgruppen, wie Phenyl- und Tolylgruppen und substituierte Alkylgruppen, wie 3,3,3-Trifluorpropyl-, 3-Chlorpropyl- und 3-Cyanoalkylgruppen. In Betracht kommende Organopolysiloxane sind beispielsweise Dimethylpolysiloxane, Methylethyl-Polysiloxane, Methyloctylpolysiloxane, Methylvinylpolysiloxane, Methylphenylpolysiloxane, Methyl (3,3,3-trifluorpropyl)polysiloxane, Dimethylsiloxanmethylphenylsiloxan-Copolymere und Dimethylsiloxan-Methyl- (3,3,3-trifluorpropyl)siloxan-Copolymere. Die mit Hydroxylgruppen blockierten Molekülkettenenden sind vorzugsweise Dimethylhydroxysiloxygruppen und Methylphenylhydroxysiloxygruppen. Die mit Alkoxygruppen blockierten Molekülkettenenden sind vorzugsweise Vinyldimethoxysiloxy-, Methyldimethoxysiloxy-, Trimethoxysiloxy-, Methyldiethoxysiloxy- und Triethoxysiloxygruppen.
- Der anorganische Füllstoff der Komponente (B), der erfindungsgemäß angewendet wird, dient dazu, die Zusammensetzung zu verdicken und verleiht dem gehärteten Produkt mechanische Festigkeit. Dieser anorganische Füllstoff ist beispielsweise ein Erdalkalimetallsalz, ein anorganisches Oxid, ein Metallhydroxid und Ruß. Spezifische Beispiele für die Erdalkalimetallsalze sind Carbonate, Bicarbonate, Sulfate etc. von Calcium, Magnesium und Barium. Spezielle Beispiele für die anorganischen Oxide sind gebranntes Siliziumdioxid, calciniertes Siliziumdioxid, ausgefälltes Siliziumdioxid, mikroteilchenförmiger Quarz, Titanoxid, Diatomeenerde, Aluminiumoxid und dgl. Ein spezifisches Beispiel für Metallhydroxide ist Aluminiumhydroxid. Diese Füllstoffe können auch nach einer Oberflächenbehandlung mit einem Silan, Silazan, einem Siloxan mit niedrigem Polymerisationsgrad oder einer organischen Verbindung verwendet werden.
- Von den vorhergehenden anorganischen Füllstoffen sind gebranntes Siliziumdioxid, ausgefälltes Siliziumdioxid und kolloidales Calciumcarbonat bevorzugt, wenn höhere mechanische Festigkeiten für das gehärtete Produkt erwünscht sind.
- Komponente (B) wird mit 1 bis 300 Gewichtsteilen pro 100 Gewichtsteilen Komponente (A) zugegeben. Komponente (B) kann eine einzelne Molekülart eines anorganischen Füllstoffs oder irgendeine gewünschte Mischung der vorhergehenden sein. Das aus der in Betracht kommenden Zusammensetzung erhaltene gehärtete Produkt hat eine schlechte mechanische Festigkeit, wenn Komponente (B) in einem Anteil von weniger als 1 Gewichtsteil zugegeben wird. Andererseits wird es bei einer Zugabemenge der Komponente (B) von mehr als 300 Gewichtsteilen höchst problematisch, ein gehärtetes Produkt mit einer guten Kautschukelastizität herzustellen.
- Der Harzester der Komponente (C), der erfindungsgemäß angewendet wird, dient durch die kombinierte Verwendung mit Komponente (D) dazu, das gehärtete Produkt, das aus der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzung erhalten wird, mit Haftfähigkeit in feindlicher Umgebung, z.B. beim Eintauchen in heißes Wasser, zu versehen, ohne die Entwicklung der Haftfähigkeit in der frühen Stufe des Härtens zu stören. Dieser Harzester ist das Produkt, das durch Alkoholveresterung von Harz bzw. Colophonium erhalten wird. Colophonium ist die terpentinölfreie nichtflüchtige Komponente, die durch Dampfdestillation aus dem Harz von Koniferenbäumen, z.B. Tannen usw., erhalten wird. Der bei dieser Veresterung verwendete Alkohol ist ein Polyol mit 2 oder mehr C-OH-Gruppen pro Molekül, z.B. Ethylenglycol, Glycerin und Pentaerythrit. Obwohl Colophonium typischerweise zwei Doppelbindungen enthält, besteht keine Beschränkung bezüglich der Verwendung von Esterverbindungen, die sich aus modifiziertem Colophonium ableiten, das durch Disproportionierung, Dimerisierung oder Hydrierung modifiziert wurde.
- Komponente (C) sollte in einem Anteil von 0,1 bis 10 Gewichtsteilen pro 100 Gewichtsteilen Komponente (A) zugegeben werden, vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 5 Gewichtsteilen. Eine befriedigend dauerhafte Haftung wird nicht entwickelt bei einer Zugabemenge unter 0,1 Gewichtsteilen, während Zugabemengen von mehr als 10 Gewichtsteilen eine langsame Härtungsrate und eine verminderte Kautschukfestigkeit nach dem Härten verursachen.
- Komponente (D) umfaßt die Reaktionsmischung aus einem Aminoalkylalkoxysilan und einem Epoxyalkylalkoxysilan. Diese Komponente dient als Vernetzer für die Zusammensetzung und dient auch dazu, die Fähigkeit an verschiedenen Arten von Substraten durch Kontakthärtung zu haften, zu verleihen. Außerdem liefert Komponente (D) durch die kombinierte Verwendung mit Komponente (C) dem gehärteten Produkt aus der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzung eine Haftfähigkeit, die in feindlicher Umgebung dauerhaft ist, z.B. beim Eintauchen in heißes Wasser.
- Das die Komponente (D) aufbauende Aminoalkylalkoxysilan ist beispielsweise Aminomethyltriethoxysilan, γ-Aminopropyltriethoxysilan, γ-Aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilan, N-(β-Aminoethyl)aminomethyltributoxysilan, N-(β-Aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyltrimethoxysilan, N-(β-Aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilan und -γ-Anilinopropyltriethoxysilan.
- Das die Komponente (D) aufbauende Epoxyalkylalkoxysilan ist beispielsweise ist γ-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilan, γ-Glycidoxypropylmethyldimethoxysilan, β-(3,4-Epoxycyclohexyl)ethyltrimethoxysilan und β-(3,4-Epoxycyclohexyl)ethylmethyldimethoxysilan.
- Die Reaktionsmischung wird hergestellt, indem einfach das Aminoalkylalkoxysilan und das Epoxyalkylalkoxysilan in einem molaren Verhältnis in Bereich von (1:1,5) bis (1:5) und vorzugsweise (1:2) bis (1:4) vermischt werden und erhitzt oder auf Raumtemperatur gehalten werden.
- Komponente (D) sollte in einem Anteil von 0,5 bis 30 Gewichtsteilen pro 100 Gewichtsteilen Komponente (A) und vorzugsweise 1 bis 10 Gewichtsteilen pro 100 Gewichtsteilen Komponente (A) zugegeben werden. Die Basis für diesen Bereich ist wie folgt: Eine annehmbare Kautschukfestigkeit und Haftfähigkeit werden nicht erhalten, wenn weniger von Komponente (D) vorhanden ist; andererseits wird, wenn mehr vorhanden ist, die Härtungsrate vermindert und der gehärtete Kautschuk zu hart.
- Der Härtungskatalysator der Komponente (E) dient als Katalysator, um die Härtung der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzung zu beschleunigen. Komponente (E) ist beispielsweise ein Carbonsäuresalz von Zinn, Titan, Zirkonium, Eisen, Antimon, Wismut und Mangan und ein Organotitanatester und eine Organotitanchelatverbindung. Spezifische Beispiele für einsetzbare Katalysatoren sind Zinnverbindungen, wie Dibutylzinndilaurat, Dibutylzinndioctoat, Dioctylzinndilaurat, Dibutylzinnmalatester und Zinnoctoat und Titanverbindungen, wie Tetrabutyltitanat, Dusopropoxybis(acetylacetonat)titan und Dusopropoxybis(ethylacetoacetat)titan.
- Komponente (E) sollte in einem Anteil von 0,001 bis 10 Gewichtsteilen pro 100 Gewichtsteilen Komponente (A) zugegeben werden und vorzugsweise mit 0,01 bis 5 Gewichtsteilen pro 100 Gewichtsteilen Komponente (A). Die Basis für diesen Bereich ist wie folgt: Wenn weniger als 0,001 Gewichtsteil Komponente (E) vorhanden ist, ist die Härtungsrate so gering, daß eine praktische Verwendung ausgeschlossen ist; die Gegenwart von mehr als 10 Gewichtsteilen Komponente (E) verursacht eine so hohe Härtungsrate, daß die Verwendungszeit verschwindend gering wird.
- Um die Härtbarkeit und die Kautschukfestigkeit nach dem Härten der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzung einzustellen, kann sie zusätzlich (F) einen Alkoxysilanvernetzer, der von Komponente (D) verschieden ist, enthalten. Beispiele für dieses Alkoxysilan sind tetrafunktionelle Alkoxysilane wie Tetramethoxysilan, Tetraethoxysilan, Methylcellosolveorthosilicat und n-Propylorthosilicat; trifunktionelle Alkoxysilane, wie Methyltrimethoxysilan, Methyltriethoxysilan, Ethyltrimethoxysilan, Vinyltrimethoxysilan, Phenyltrimethoxysilan und Methyltri(methoxyethoxy)silan und Teilhydrolysate der vorhergehenden Verbindungen. Der Alkoxysilanvernetzer wird vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 1 bis 10 Gewichtsteilen bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile (A) zugegeben.
- Außerdem kann die erfindungsgemäße Zusammensetzung die folgenden Bestandteile gegebenenfalls enthalten, wenn dadurch die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung nicht gestört wird: ein organisches Lösungsmittel, ein Diorganopolysiloxan mit Trimethylsiloxyendgruppen, ein Flammschutzmittel, einen Weichmacher, ein Thixotropiemittel, einen Farbstoff, übliche Haftvermittler und Entformungsmittel.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung wird durch erläuternde Beispiele genauer erklärt. In den Beispielen und Vergleichsbeispielen bezeichnen Teile Gewichtsteile, die Viskosität ist der bei 25ºC gemessene Wert und die folgenden Abkürzungen werden verwendet:
- Tmax = maximale Zugspannung;
- Emax = Dehnung bei maximaler Belastung und
- CF-Verhältnis = Anteil an kohäsivem Versagen in der Probe.
- Die folgenden Bestandteile wurden bis zur Homogenität vermischt, was eine Mischung lieferte, die im folgenden als "Grundstoff" bezeichnet wird: 100 Teile eines Polydimethylsiloxans mit Hydroxylendgruppen mit einer Viskosität = 0,015 m²/s, 100 Teile mit Fettsäure behandeltes Calciumcarbonat (durchschnittliche Teilchengröße = 0,08 µm) und 2 Teile Ethylenglycolester von Colophonium (Viskosität = 200 Pa s).
- Die folgenden Bestandteile wurden auch vermischt, was eine Mischung lieferte, die im folgenden als "Katalysator" bezeichnet wird: 60 Teile n-Propylorthosilicat, 40 Teile einer Reaktionsmischung in einem molaren Verhältnis von 1:2 aus γ-Aminopropyltriethoxysilan und γ-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilan und 1 Teil Dibutylzinndilaurat.
- Der Grundstoff und der Katalysator wurden dann in einem Gewichtsverhältnis von 100:5 vermischt, was eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung ergab. Die Proben für den Zughaftungstest wurden hergestellt auf Basis von JIS A 5758 unter Verwendung dieser Zusammensetzung. Die haftenden Partner waren Floatglas und Hochleistungswärmereflektionsglas (SGY 32 von Asahi Glass Kabushiki Kaisha). Die Zughaftung wurde nach 5- tägigem Härten bei 20ºC gemessen. Außerdem wurde die Zughaftung gemessen nach Härten 7 Tage bei 20ºC und 7 Tage bei 50ºC und 1 Monat Eintauchen in heißes Wasser (80ºC). Diese Meßergebnisse sind in der Tabelle angegeben, in den mit "nach der Härtung 5 Tage bei 20ºC" bzw. "nach Eintauchen in 80ºC heißes Wasser" bezeichneten Spalten.
- Eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung wurde hergestellt, wie in Beispiel 1, wobei aber 2,5 Teile einer Toluollösung (Feststoffgehalt = 80%) eines Glycerinesters von Colophonium (Estererweichungspunkt = 90ºC) anstelle des Ethylenglycolesters von Colophonium, der in Beispiel 1 verwendet wurde, verwendet wurden. Diese Zusammensetzung wurde wie in Beispiel 1 ausgewertet und die Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle angegeben.
- Eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung wurde wie in Beispiel 1 hergestellt, wobei aber 2,5 Teile einer Toluollösung (Feststoffgehalt = 80%) Pentaerythritester von Colophonium (Estererweichungspunkt = 120ºC) anstelle des Ethylenglycolesters von Colophonium, der in Beispiel 1 verwendet wurde, verwendet wurden. Diese Zusammensetzung wurde wie in Beispiel 1 ausgewertet und die Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle angegeben.
- Eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung wurde hergestellt wie in Beispiel 1, wobei aber 2,5 Teile einer Toluollösung (Feststoffgehalt = 80%) eines Glycerinesters von hydriertem Colophonium (Estererweichungspunkt = 90ºC) anstelle des Ethylenglycolesters von Colophonium, der in Beispiel 1 verwendet wurde, verwendet wurden. Diese Zusammensetzung wurde wie in Beispiel 1 ausgewertet und die Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle angegeben.
- Eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung wurde wie in Beispiel 1 hergestellt, wobei aber 2,5 Teile einer Toluollösung von Colophonium (Feststoffgehalt = 80%) anstelle des Ethylenglycolesters von Colophonium, der in Beispiel 1 verwendet wurde, verwendet wurden. Diese Zusammensetzung wurde wie in Beispiel 1 ausgewertet und die Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle angegeben.
- Eine bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung wurde hergestellt wie in Beispiel 1, wobei in diesem Fall der Ethylenglycolester von Colophonium aus dem Grundstoff von Beispiel 1 weggelassen wurde. Diese Zusammensetzung wurde ausgewertet wie in Beispiel 1 und die Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle angegeben. Tabelle Zusammensetzung Nr. - Die erfindungsgemäße bei Raumtemperatur härtbare Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung bindet kennzeichnenderweise gut an Substrate während der Kontakthärtung, hat eine ausgezeichnete Haftung im frühen Stadium des Härtens und ist nach dem Härten äußerst wasserbeständig und behält die Bindungsfestigkeit über sehr lange Zeit, sogar in einer feindlichen Umgebung, z.B. beim Eintauchen in heißes Wasser, da sie aus den Komponenten (A) bis (E) zusammengesetzt ist und insbesondere da sie den Colophoniumester eines Polyols als Komponente (C) und die Reaktionsmischung aus Aminoalkylalkoxysilan/Epoxyalkylalkoxysilan als Komponente (D) enthält.
Claims (2)
1. Bei Raumtemperatur härtbare
Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung umfassend
(A) 100 Gewichtsteile eines Organopolysiloxans mit
Hydroxylendgruppen oder Alkoxyendgruppen mit einer Viskosität bei 25ºC
im Bereich von 0,000020 bis 1 m²/s,
(B) 1 bis 300 Gewichtsteile anorganischen Füllstoff,
(C) 0,1 bis 10 Gewichtsteile Colophoniumester, der ein
Veresterungsprodukt aus Colophonium und einem Polyol ist,
(D) 0,5 bis 30 Gewichtsteile einer Reaktionsmischung aus
Aminoalkylalkoxysilan und Epoxyalkylalkoxysilan und
(E) 0,001 bis 10 Gewichtsteile Härtungskatalysator.
2. Bei Raumtemperatur härtbare
Organopolysiloxanzusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, weiter umfassend (F) einen
Alkoxysilanvernetzer.
