Herstellung von biegsamen Bändern oder Folien aus Polystyrol o. dgl. Im Hauptpatent ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von biegsamen Bändern oder Fäden aus Polymerisationsprodukten von #-\rylolefinen, wie z. B. Polystyrol, beschrieben. Gemäß diesem Verfahren wird das Material bei erhöhter Temperatur aus einer Düse ausgepreßt und so ausgezogen, daß die Auszugsgeschwindigkeit größer ist als die Austrittsgeschwindigkeit der Masse aus der Düse. Die nach diesem Verfahren hergestellten Bänder lassen sich senkrecht zur Längsrichtung des Bandes über kleine Durchmesser biegen ohne zu brechen; in der Längsrichtung selbst aber sind sie noch spröde und spaltbar.Manufacture of flexible strips or foils made of polystyrene or the like. Dieses Ziel wird gemäß der Erfindung dadurch erreicht, daß ein -bei erhöhter Temperatur aus einer Düse gespritztes Band der Kunstmasse während des Auspressens oder unmittelbar nach dem Auspressen aus der Düse nicht nur einem Längszug, sondern auch einer Querreckung unterworfen wird, Es hat sich gezeigt, daß die ausgezogenen und quergerechten Bänder und Folien dann die günstigsten mechanischen Eigenschaften aufweisen, wenn ihre Dicke während des Ausziehens in Längs- und Querrichtung auf eriva 1/9 der ursprünglichen Dicke zurückgeht. Die Rollen werden in geeigneter Weise angetrieben, so daß sich die obere Seite der Bänder von der Düse fortbewegt. Auf den Bändern sind kleine Stifte. angebracht, die das aus der Düse tretende Band erfassen und mitnehmen. Nach dem Verlassen der Streckvorrichtung wird die fertige Folie auf einer geeigneten Vorrichtung 5 aufgewickelt. Polystyrol, insbesondere für Zwecke der Isolation von Kabeln und Kondensatoren, durch Ausziehen des erwärmter Stoffes aus einer Düse nach Patent 653 25o, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das aus der Düse austretende Band während des Ausziehens oder unmittelbar nach dem Ausziehen auch quer zur Ausziehrichtung gereckt wird.. z. Verfahren nach Anspruch i, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dicke des Bandes während des Ausziehens in Längs- und Querrichtung auf etwa 1/9 der ursprünglichen Dicke vermindert wird. 3.
